Beige 1988 Nissan 300ZX with tan interior. I bought this 300ZX 2 years ago from a friend for my daughters first car, she was 11 at the time. I had it inspected by a local Datsun/Nissan only mechanic. He test drove it and found it to be in good condition. He recommended that I change all the fluids (transmission, oil and coolant), give it a full tune-up (wires, plugs, air filter, fuel filter, distributor cap and rotor) and replace the brake rotors and front pads. I replaced everything he suggested. I didn't use Nissan rotors, but they were Japanese manufacture. I topped off the freon, brake master cylinder and power steering fluid. Interior is in pretty good condition, someone removed a section of the rear headliner and there a 2 small tears on the drivers door panel. The seats are very nice. The exterior is generally good with a few dings and dents. The paint is holding up well, but could use a buff and wax. Tires are good with decent tread remaining. All the lights and signals work. The 2 things that don't function are the radio (lights up, but no sound) and the fuel level gauge. Everything else works well, including the A/C. I've described this car honestly and I feel it's a good car. I'm selling because my 13 year old daughter just doesn't like the way it looks. Go figure.
My friend had the water pump unit and timing belt replaced 3000 miles ago. He also had the water pump belt, power steering belt and A/C belt replaced at that time. He purchased and installed an upgraded, square dual exhaust tip.
Your welcome to inspect and test drive it. I'll send specific pictures, just message me with what you need.
You should tow it for legal reasons, but it could be driven.
$500 deposit through Paypal within 3 days of auction end and the remainder in cash. I won't accept any other form of final payment, other than cash. Thank you

Club to restore amazeballs Datsun Safari Rally Z

Sun, 15 Sep 2013

Thanks to the Nissan Restoration Club, a legendary rally car is coming back to life. At the recent Nissan 360 media event, the Japanese automaker announced that its restoration club is bringing the Safari Rally Z back to original running condition. A variant of the Fairlady Z (or Datsun 240Z in the US), the Safari Rally Z has a fastback coupe body and a 215-horsepower inline-six engine. It won East African Safari Rally championships in both 1971 and 1973. The restoration is scheduled for completion this December.
Formed in 2006, Nissan's Restoration Club is comprised of 60 volunteer members who are passionate about Nissan's historic racecars. The club's past restoration projects include the 1964 Skyline racecar and 1947 Tama electric vehicle. Read the press release below for all the details on the latest restoration, and check out the gallery for photos of the Safari Rally Z as well as the 1972 Fairlady 240Z.

Do you guys like trucks?

Wed, Jan 17 2018

Do you guys like trucks? If the answer is yes, boy do we have the show for you! The 2018 North American International Auto Show is lousy with 'em. Yeah, we saw the new Ram 1500, Chevy Silverado and Ford Ranger, but that's just scratching the surface. There are big trucks, little trucks, clean trucks, dirty trucks, old trucks, new trucks, red trucks, blue trucks. It's like a Dr. Seuss book. Anyway, we made a little video for you truck nuts (see what I did there?). Check it out above, and if you're looking for more serious coverage of the Detroit Auto Show, we've got it, along with a ton of images and other videos from the show floor. Enjoy! Recharge Wrap-up: Indianapolis to switch 425 fleet vehicles to EVs, Chevy Corvette provides bat habitats

Tue, Nov 4 2014

Indianapolis will deploy 425 battery electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles as part of its municipal fleet by 2016. The fleet will include such cars as the Nissan Leaf, Chevrolet Volt and Ford Fusion Energi. The city will also reduce its overall fleet by 100 vehicles. In all, the revised group - called the "Freedom Fleet" - will save $8.7 million and 2.2 million gallons of gasoline over 10 years. Read more at Hybrid Cars. EVs with longer range would make vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-grid energy management systems more practical for the US. The idea of using EVs as energy storage for emergencies or times of high grid demand is currently being tested in Japan with Nissan's Leaf-to-Home system. The US is also interested in such capabilities, but the higher average energy use of American households would make larger batteries in EVs ideal for grid storage applications. Read more at Green Car Reports. LG Chem has broken ground on its EV battery plant in Nanjing, China. The factory, when constructed, will have a capacity of producing batteries for 100,000 cars per year according to the Korean company. The plant will supply batteries for Chinese automakers such as SAIC and Qoros. Construction is expected to be finished by the end of 2015 and LG Chem expects revenue of more than $933 million by 2020. Read more in the press release below. General Motors is using adhesive used in the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to create habitat for threatened bat species. Artificial bat caves could help alleviate white-nose fungus that leads to diminished bat populations. Leftover adhesive is used to create stalactites in the artificial caves, allowing them more structure to hang from. GM has also provided Volt battery covers to create nesting habitats for bats, which eat harmful insects and help pollinate plants. See the videos and read more in the press release below.
