Original Survivor adult owned 2 owner(non-smoking) 1986 Nissan 300zx Turbo. Car has only been driven in Las Vegas, Nevada and in South West Florida. No snow ever and only few occasions of it seeing rain. Car is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. It is a 27 year old car so don't expect perfection, it has some dings, small rock chips, and few scratches, most are minor and won't show up in photos. Paint has a very good shine considering the age. Black trim is inexcellent shape and glossy, only one small section near cowl where paint has removed from the trim. Interior is as close to new as you will find. Passenger seat and door panel are pretty much perfect. Drivers seat and door panel show normal wear for the age. Dash is crack free and in excellent condition. Center console Lid is like new as is the shift boot. Carpet is in great shape throughout the vehicle. Original "Turbo" floor mats are in very nice condition. Headliner is in like new condition. Tonneau cover is in great shape as is the cargo cover tray. The front vinyl flap on the cargo cover is like new. Tool kit is complete and is completely clean underneath. This is a RUST FREE survivor. T-Top and door seals are like new. All original glass.

7-6-11 Timing belt, crank pulley, seals, water pump, belts etc were replaced with genuine Nissan Parts. Mileage at replacement was 110,920
9/2012 original adjustable shocks and struts were replaced with KYB's all around with the conversion kit. All electronic components for shocks/struts are still in car if ever needed. 9/2012 steering rack was replaced. Front tires have 90% tread remaining and are Primewell PZ-900, rear tires are Kumho Ecsta and have approx 45% tread remaining. Wheels are in nice shape.
Car runs and drives well. Turbo seems fine and car idles around 700-750 when warmed up. AC is ice cold and climate controls work perfectly. Heater core was bypassed by previous owner so currently no heat. Not an issue here in Florida. Not sure why but I'm guessing heater core may have had a leak, although no evidence of leak inside vehicle. Rear drivers side quarter panel has a scuff mark on the moulding trim and a ding below it and a ding to the left. Front passenger side fender has couple of dings above wheel well and above marker light. Several tiny rock chips from highway driving on hood. Most of these are very hard to see unless up close, will not show with camera. Expected wear tear on vehicle this age. There is some black sealant showing around inside perimeter of rear side windows. Radio and antenna work good. Cassette player inserting and ejecting not working properly. The hood shocks are starting to wear out and may need replacing in near future. Since using full synthetic oil (10w-30) I have noticed one drop of oil on garage floor after the car has sat overnight. It appears to be coming from the area directly near the starter but I have not pin pointed the source.  Car is always garaged and all maintenance should be up to date. Car has been well taken care of and gets tons of compliments.  Vehicle includes factory Nissan Bra with storage bag. Also includes owners manual, service manual and dash protector cover. Includes t-top bags in brand new condition and t-top shades.
Mileage is currently 119,860 however I do use the car couple times a week for work. Round trip 48 miles so mileage may increase a little by time of sale.
Inspections and test drives are welcome. All sales are final. Please ask questions prior to bidding. Only bid if you can complete the sale. There is no warranty, vehicle is being sold as is. Inspections must take place before auction close. Deposit of $500.00 is due within 48 hours. Remainder of funds can either be paid with paypal or CASH in person. NO CHECKS PERIOD. No SCAMS. Infiniti brand will finally make its debut in Japan, but not the name

Thu, 14 Nov 2013

Nissan left the automotive media scratching its collective head when it announced that its Infiniti luxury brand would be renaming all of its vehicles, with cars wearing the Q designation and CUVs/SUVs wearing the QX badge. So the G Sedan became the Q50, and the G Coupe became the Q60. The QX56, meanwhile, became the QX80, and the FX crossover became the QX70. It is still thoroughly confusing nearly a year later.
Not content to confuse its US customers alone, Nissan will be fiddling with the name of one of its most revered Japanese-market models - the Skyline. Rebadged for the US as the Q50, and before that as the G Sedan/Coupe, the new Skyline will wear an Infiniti badge. What makes this truly confusing, though, is that the car won't be called the Infiniti Skyline, despite its badging. It won't even be called the Nissan Skyline, anymore. It's now just the Skyline. Apparently, Nissan thinks it can capitalize on the Skyline's link to the Japanese royal family (the Skyline was originally a product of Prince Motors, which provided vehicles for the Emperor and his family), by ditching any brand names and referring to it as its own model, according to Automotive News.
Now, confusion aside, there are things about Infiniti badging in Japan that make sense. Badging all the Nissans that eventually become Infinitis as Infinitis in the first place goes a long way to make the brand seem separate and distinct from its parent company. Speaking to AN, Infiniti's executive vice president of global product planning, Andy Palmer, puts it this way, "We have to treat Infiniti, if you will, in the same [way] that Volkswagen treats Audi. It's not a Nissan-plus. Infiniti has to stand head-to-head with any of those German competitors."

MotorWeek proves '90s were awesome with Supra, Stealth, RX-7, Corvette, 968, 300ZX comparo

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

Oh, the heady days of 1993, back when the Clinton Presidency was just getting underway, and it seemed like every hot new rock band was coming out of Seattle. Sports cars in the US had finally shaken off the shackles that slowed them during the '70s and '80s, and you could buy any number of legitimately quick vehicles again. MotorWeek recently went digging into its archives to find this six-model test from 1993 showing off some of the best semi-affordable performance coupes that money could buy at the time, and it's priceless.
Featuring the 1994 model year Toyota Supra in twin-turbo guise and MY 1993 versions of the Porsche 968, Nissan 300ZX TT, Mazda RX-7, Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo and Chevrolet Corvette LT-1, MotorWeek definitely covered all of the bases. One thing that might surprise younger readers is these cars' performance. The video only provides 0-60 acceleration times, but several of these vehicles would still be considered pretty potent today - over 20 years since going on sale. The Supra is especially impressive, hitting 60 miles per hour in just 5 seconds. Even today, that's nothing to sneeze at.
Given their performance potential and still-attractive looks, it's amazing that some of these coupes are old enough to drink now. The progress of interior design and safety equipment in the intervening years is pretty shocking, though. In most of these models, having two airbags is touted as a big deal. Scroll down to watch a Throwback Thursday blast from the past about some of the '90s best sports cars.

Car theft skyrockets thanks to rising parts prices

Mon, Feb 19 2018

Cars and trucks today have achieved a high level of average quality, with safety and technology features that keep occupants safer than ever and meet consumers' high expectations. But the National Insurance Crime Bureau finds that those components come with a rising price tag, leading to expensive repair bills — and rising vehicle thefts to support a thriving black market for parts. The nonprofit NICB said it looked at the cost of replacement parts for the top 10 stolen 2016 models, with average OEM part prices pulled from a database of more than 24 million vehicle damage appraisals generated for 2016 and 2017 insurance claims. The list did not include major components like engines or transmissions, only easily-stripped components like bumpers, doors, hoods and headlights. It found that: The 2016 Toyota Camry, which had a used market value of around $15,000, had 15 commonly replaced parts that added up to almost $11,000, not including labor, with quarter panels alone costing almost $1,600 a pair and a set of alloy wheels tallying more than $1,600. The Camry was also the top stolen vehicle in 2016 at 1,113 thefts. A 2016 Nissan Altima had 14 standard parts worth more than $14,000, including a single headlamp assembly that costs just over $1,000. The Altima was the second-top stolen vehicle in 2016 at 1,063 vehicles stolen. And the 2016 GMC Sierra pickup, which was No. 7 on the 2016 top-stolen list, rang up $21,000 from 20 standard components, including an $1,100 headlamp assembly and an $1,100 rear bumper. "For the professional theft ring, stealing and stripping vehicles for parts has always been a lucrative business," Jim Schweitzer, NICB's senior vice president and chief operating officer, said in a statement. "On today's cars and trucks, the parts are often worth more than the intact vehicle and may be easier to move and sell. That's why we see so many thefts of key items like wheels and tires and tailgates ... there's always a market for them." Check out the NICB infographic below. Vehicle thefts in the U.S. rose by more than 4 percent in 2017, based on preliminary FBI data, after rising 7.6 percent in 2016, though the overall trend has been down since vehicle thefts peaked in 1991, according to the NICB.
