1985 Nissan 300zx Turbo Coupe 2-door 3.0l on 2040-cars
Blackhawk, South Dakota, United States
Up for sale is a 1985 Nissan 300zx turbo
The good: AC still blows cold, cruise works, power windows work, power locks are new and work, clutch is a brand new rhino pac clutch with new slave cylinder and new master cylinder, tuned to anagrams of the oem specs, its just like it was from the factory with a little bit of free clutch play, clutch is nice and smooth. the bad: paint is peeling, E-brake needs new cables, does not work, however you can buy new cables from 300zxpartsforyou.com that will work, A/C does not blow on you, nor does heat, it blows through the floor and the top defroster only, not sure as to why. New oil pressure sensor, new power door locks, orig nissan parts for indoor hinges (they were busted), doors open and close smoothly now, power locks work great... t-tops leak a little bit, so in need of new weather stripping.. shifts into 2nd gear a little harder then normal, not sure why, could be a synchro, all other gears work great. She is a classic japanese fair lady Z, i want it to have a good home, someone who will fix it up more then i could of, (i dont make much money) it would be a lovely show car or a speed project, has a garrett T3 turbo in it stock, which is capable of about 14 psi before it starts getting too hot, so bigger injectors, an intercooler, and a walbro fuel pump and youd be makin some serious power, at stock it has 200hp and 200 torque. and about 7psi of boost, which can be changed with an electronic controller or a manual boost controller. Well ive told you everything about the car, it runs and drives great, leans a tad bit to the right if you let go of the steering wheel but its not a big deal. |

2014 Nissan GT-R squeaks in under $100k*, Murano CrossCabriolet priced, too
Fri, 25 Jan 2013Another year, another price hike for the ridiculously awesome Nissan GT-R. When the GT-R was introduced for the 2008 model year, it had a starting price of $69,850, increasing steadily each year up to $96,820 for 2013, and now Nissan has announced that the 2014 GT-R will have a base sticker price of $99,590 (*not including the destination charge, which has not been announced yet).
More than just a simple price hike, the 2014 GT-R gets some upgrades, continuing the model's other longstanding tradition - continuous improvement. While there has been no increase in power, Nissan says the 545-horsepower, twin-turbo V6 now has better response in its mid- and upper-rpm ranges. Nissan has also improved the car's handling, giving it different shock absorbers, springs and a reworked front anti-roll bar, along with "increased body rigidity," though it doesn't specify how the latter is accomplished. The changes are said to lower the coupe's center of gravity and further improve its (already spectacular) handling. A few styling tweaks include the addition of a Premium Interior Package offering hand-stitched red leather seats, a color pattern for the steering wheel on the $109,300 GT-R Black Edition and an engraved aluminum plate showing the owner who built their car's engine.
Along with the announcement of the 2014 GT-R, Nissan also released details for the 2014 Murano CrossCabriolet. The big - but not surprising - news is that Nissan has lowered the price of its slow-selling crossover convertible to $41,995, representing a price drop of just over $2,500. Aside from price, model year changes include two new exterior colors and redesigned 20-inch wheels.
Nissan unveils Altima-based V8 Supercars [w/videos]
Wed, 13 Feb 2013Good as it is, when we think about the Nissan Altima, the words "V8" or "supercar" are not in our vernacular, but Nissan Motorsports is looking to change all that. After unveiling the race version of its Altima sedan intended for the Australian V8 Supercars series back in October, the four race teams and their cars were revealed yesterday ahead of a preseason test session this weekend.
Two of the Altima racecars will be sponsored by Jack Daniels while the other two will wear Norton (as in Norton Anti-Virus) black-and-yellow livery. The season officially kicks off on March 1, and we'll get to see the V8-powered Altima on US soil from May 17-19 when the V8 Supercars series hits the new Circuit of the Americas in Austin. Scroll down to watch a couple videos and a press release issued for the team introductions.
Nissan Zeod RC crash test looks like crushing the tip on a pencil
Fri, 16 May 2014Nissan has already showed us the 1.5-liter, three-cylinder engine 400 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, augmented by an electric motor, that sits in back of the ZEOD RC headed for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. At the ZEOD RC's other end is a carbon fiber crash structure that has to be tested against an immovable object, and Nissan has seen fit to show us that, too.
You know what to expect if you've seen a crash test before, but the really pointy nose on this car reminds us of a Faber Castell HB pencil being sent to its death. Better yet, it's in slow motion, and you can watch it below.
