I purchased this car on Feb. 15, 2007 off of Ebay from Glenn Coats. I still have the shipping records, original paper work that he sent with the vehicle with receipts for all or any work that he had done on the car. I had it shipped from Florida and still have that piece of documentation too. I went down to pick the car up upon arrival here in Las Vegas and it ran like a charm! LOTS of get up and go and our plan was to repair the rust that was listed on the posts at the doors. When I read about this 300ZX, I learned that the owner had just put a brand new motor in the car with only 60,000 miles on it and so I purchased it and boy, could I tell this car had been worked on by one mechanic, as advertised! The owner had so much confidence in the car he offered to drive it to me in Nevada, without a worry in the world. My fianc'e was looking and happened to find another 300ZX in Colorado, that did have 60,000 miles on it which did not require any work and so he surprised me and went and picked it up and so then I had two! For the longest time, I kept saying we would keep the Z from Florida incase I needed a part or if something went wrong with the one he purchased in Colorado. Well, we still have both cars and nothing has gone wrong with the one he purchased for me and the one I am selling has only been started up and driven in the back yard! This vehicle has flared fenders in front and back. There are so few of these left and we have gotten every extra part that we could ever need over the years, from the pic-a-part or junk yard where one was in a crash, so I felt it was time to put this collectors item back on the market and let someone else enjoy this one of a kind car that are getting harder and harder to find! This vehicle is 29 years old so naturally there is no warranty or implied condition. This car was never driven on a regular basis as I drove the one that was purchased as a gift from Colorado. I still have that one and it is running strong. There is no question there are a few things that you will want to tend to on this car, but as you can see, it is still a beauty. I will be posting more pictures later today of the inside and the engine. In the pictures I have listed there is nothing wrong with the front end other than I have the hood unlocked for pictures! It is a collectors item that is a blast to drive and with a little work can be worth a lot of money. Due to heath problems, I just can't do it anymore and the best thing I can do with this vehicle is sell it so that someone can enjoy one of the best all time sport cars ever made. Transportation from my address here in Nevada to winning bidder is high bidders responsibility. I will be happy to pick you up at the airport and work with you anyway I can. A $500.00 deposit is due upon notification that you are the winning bidder. Payment in full is due within 3 days and pick up and transportation of the vehicle is winning bidders responsibility that it be picked up within 7 days (one week).

'Charge lock' on Nissan Leaf doesn't actually prevent cable theft
Thu, Oct 2 2014Is it a feature or a bug? According to AutoblogGreen reader Francois Viau, the locking mechanism that holds the 110V trickle charge cable to his Nissan Leaf is too weak, and that's a problem. That's because while he thought the cable was locked to his car during a charge session at work, someone stole the cable, and it cost him $2,200 to replace it (in Canadian dollars, from the Nissan dealer). To see just how easy it is to unlock the mechanism, Viau had a "small assistant" jimmy it open with a plastic comb on video (watch it below). "The charge lock feature on Nissan Leaf is not intended to prevent theft of the charging cordset." – Brian Brockman We wondered if this was a common problem and, through the magic of Facebook, we had AutoblogGreen reader Phil Tipper try it out on his 2013 SL Leaf. He said he used an insulated handle flat screwdriver and was not able to defeat the lock. "I admit that I didn't want to force the mechanism for fear of breaking it, it didn't look like that kid used much force at all," he said. "Maybe this guy's mechanism was damaged in the theft and now it's very easy to trip the lock out of the way." Fifty percent of a sample size of two isn't a reliable metric, but if you're worried about locking your cable in place, you can see some of Viau's anti-theft solutions here (in French, with pictures). Turns out, though, that the white plastic bit that prevents the cable handle from working during a charge isn't really an anti-theft device. Brian Brockman, senior manager of corporate communications for Nissan North America, told AutoblogGreen that, "The charge lock feature on Nissan Leaf is not intended to prevent theft of the charging cordset. It is designed to discourage someone from unplugging the vehicle while a charging session is in progress. The trickle charge cable features a small hole in the release button to allow the owner to insert a lock to reduce the chance of theft." So, now you know. This content is hosted by a third party. Carlos Ghosn takes a walk in a park, as lawyer apologizes for disguise
Fri, Mar 8 2019TOKYO — Former Nissan chairman Carlos Ghosn was seen walking in a Tokyo park on Friday, two days after his release in a strange disguise from a Japanese detention center. Ghosn, this time in sunglasses and a Stanford baseball cap (his daughter Caroline's alma mater), was spotted outdoors twice on Friday, strolling outside in the crisp March air. He and several others, believed to be his wife and daughters, visited a downtown Tokyo garden as members of the media trailed them and watched. The intense media attention was what led Ghosn's lawyers to suggest he leave the Tokyo Detention Center after his release on bail Wednesday in a laborer's outfit of cap, surgical mask and high-visibility vest, attorney Takashi Takano said. Many were baffled by the somewhat transparent disguise, which has riveted Japanese tabloid media. One TV show re-enacted his departure. Takano said in a blog post that he took full responsibility for what he called the "theater of disguise." He apologized for its failure. The outfit was confusing but didn't deter media from tracking the small van he traveled in after his release, in a spectacle broadcast live on television. "My immature plan, as a result, has tarnished the reputation that he has devoted his whole life to build," Takano said of his client. Takano asked the media to respect Ghosn's privacy. That plea appeared to go unheeded as cameramen closely followed the celebrity executive as those walking with him stared straight ahead in apparent annoyance. Ghosn, who headed the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Motors alliance, has been charged with falsifying financial reports, under-reporting his income and breach of trust in having Nissan Motor Co. shoulder personal investment losses and make payments to a Saudi businessman. He says he is innocent and that the income allegedly under-reported was never paid or decided, that Nissan never suffered the investment losses and the payments were for legitimate services. In Japan, suspects are routinely kept in detention until preparations for their trials are ready, meaning they are often detained for months. The court rejected two earlier requests by Ghosn for bail. Ghosn led Nissan for two decades, saving the Yokohama-based automaker from near bankruptcy. He was arrested on Nov. 19.
Nissan to take over for Renault in Formula E
Thu, Oct 12 2017Formula E has generated a lot of news lately, even in the off-season, as major automakers continue to either join the series or express interest in participating. The inclusion of a number of European rivals makes the series particularly interesting. One thing missing from the lineup is a Japanese automaker. That will change, though, as Motorsport reports that Nissan will be taking over its Alliance partner Renault's spot on the starting grid. It's not confirmed when the switch will happen, but with the Renault e.dams Z.E. 17 (seen in testing above) already having been unveiled for next season, it's likely the switch will come in for the 2018/19 season when the series moves away from the practice of swapping cars mid-race. Renault has been a successful part of Formula E from the very beginning, providing (with partner Spark) the cars each team used in the first season, and scoring the series' first Team Championship in 2015, and then again in 2016 and 2017. Nissan, though, has the globally popular Leaf EV, and has been eyeing an entry into Formula E for some time now. Joining the series will not only boost the visibility of Nissan's electrification strategy, it will do the same for its Nismo arm as well (and, as we've already learned, there could be a Leaf Nismo offered in the future). The change would also free up resources for Renault to focus on its F1 efforts. As Motorsport also reports, Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag has said of the Japanese brands Nissan, Honda and Toyota, that "one of those three, maybe two, will end up" in the electric racing series, without elaborating further. Nissan isn't expected to confirm its Formula E entry soon, but it could happen at the Geneva Motor Show next year. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
