It is also loosing some of the clear coat from the heat in Nevada. I have not driven the car on the highway for years. The interior is in good condition, the engine and transmission are the same as when it arrived. The a/c blew ice cold and any cosmetic needs are visible and minor. I know that the T-Tops are tight, it has a new market stereo in it. The original wheels with the silver and gold hub caps are still looking sharp. There is one small chip in the windshield high center, right where the rear view mirror is."

I purchased this car on Feb. 15, 2007 off of Ebay from Glenn Coats. I still have the shipping records, original paper work that he sent with the vehicle with receipts for all or any work that he had done on the car. I had it shipped from Florida and still have that piece of documentation too. I went down to pick the car up upon arrival here in Las Vegas and it ran like a charm! LOTS of get up and go and our plan was to repair the rust that was listed on the posts at the doors. When I read about this 300ZX, I learned that the owner had just put a brand new motor in the car with only 60,000 miles on it and so I purchased it and boy, could I tell this car had been worked on by one mechanic, as advertised! The owner had so much confidence in the car he offered to drive it to me in Nevada, without a worry in the world. My fianc'e was looking and happened to find another 300ZX in Colorado, that did have 60,000 miles on it which did not require any work and so he surprised me and went and picked it up and so then I had two! For the longest time, I kept saying we would keep the Z from Florida incase I needed a part or if something went wrong with the one he purchased in Colorado. Well, we still have both cars and nothing has gone wrong with the one he purchased for me and the one I am selling has only been started up and driven in the back yard!  This vehicle has flared fenders in front and back. There are so few of these left and we have gotten every extra part that we could ever need over the years, from the pic-a-part or junk yard where one was in a crash, so I felt it was time to put this collectors item back on the market and let someone else enjoy this one of a kind car that are getting harder and harder to find! This vehicle is 29 years old so naturally there is no warranty or implied condition. This car was never driven on a regular basis as I drove the one that was purchased as a gift from Colorado. I still have that one and it is running strong. There is no question there are a few things that you will want to tend to on this car, but as you can see, it is still a beauty. I will be posting more pictures later today of the inside and the engine. In the pictures I have listed there is nothing wrong with the front end other than I have the hood unlocked for pictures! It is a collectors item that is a blast to drive and with a little work can be worth a lot of money. Due to heath problems, I just can't do it anymore and the best thing I can do with this vehicle is sell it so that someone can enjoy one of the best all time sport cars ever made. Transportation from my address here in Nevada to winning bidder is high bidders responsibility. I will be happy to pick you up at the airport and work with you anyway I can. A $500.00 deposit is due upon notification that you are the winning bidder. Payment in full is due within 3 days and pick up and transportation of the vehicle is winning bidders responsibility that it be picked up within 7 days (one week).

Watch Formula Drift Championship leader Chris Forsberg drift a 1975 Datsun 280Z

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

Chris Forsberg won the Formula Drift Championship in 2009, was in the catbird seat to win it last year until the final race of the season and started this year's season with a win at Long Beach. That is how he can be provide the example for Clarion USA's tagline, "Dream like a champion."
In this three-minute video for the audio components manufacturer, Forsberg gives up the race suit for a corporate suit, then takes time out of his commute to think about what he'd rather be doing. In a 1975 Nissan 280Z with a turbocharged 2.0-liter Skyline RBDET20 engine. We're sure this has never happened to any of you before.
You can watch how dream begins - and suddenly ends - in the video below.

Nissan Leaf's lead over Renault Zoe narrows in Europe

Wed, Jul 20 2016

The Nissan Leaf has seen its sales steadily decline in the US for a while now. Here, its been eclipsed by the second-generation Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in while people await the next-generation version of the all-electric Leaf. The EV may be starting to receive a similar response across the Pond. While the Leaf remains Europe's biggest-selling EV, that lead is eroding, as sales of the Renault Zoe are catching up, according to the European Alternative Fuels Observatory (EAFO). It's a good thing Nissan and Renault are sister companies. Through May, Nissan sold about 9,500 Leaf vehicles in Europe. The good news is that number is up 37 percent from a year earlier. There's disconcerting news, too, and that is that the Renault Zoe's sales have surged 60 percent this year to almost 9,400 units. So, for all we know, the Zoe may have caught up with the Leaf last month. Still, both models are outpacing demand for the Tesla Model S and Volkswagen e-Golf: the former's sales are little-changed this year, while the latter model's sales have dropped 34 percent. The BMW i3, Kia Soul EV, and Mercedes-Benz B250e all have had higher sales this year. As for plug-in hybrids, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has maintained its substantial European lead, almost doubling sales of the Volkswagen Golf GTE and totaling almost 9,400 units sold through May. Meanwhile, the new Volvo XC90 PHEV has leapfrogged models such as the Volkswagen Passat GTE, Mercedes-Benz C350e, and Audi A3 e-Tron into third place behind the Mitsubishi and VW. Here in the US, Nissan Leaf sales through June fell 41 percent from a year earlier to about 5,800 units, while Chevrolet Volt sales have surged 75 percent to 9,808 units. 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans live race report

Sat, Jun 13 2015

Check back regularly for more race updates every few hours. No, you don't need to stay up for the entire 24 Hours of Le Mans, but if you want to catch any of the action, Autoblog friend Reilly Brennan has a handy guide. And to keep you up to speed on the latest race events, we'll be posting live from Le Mans with regular race reports.Hour 1: Five laps in, Audi breaks up the three Porsches at the front, with the #19 919 Hybrid, driven by Nico Hulkenburg, passed by all three R18s. Hulkenburg eventually took back fifth position only to fall back again after the first pit stop. Meanwhile, clutch trouble kept the #23 Nissan GTR-LM in the pits until 15 minutes into the race. The other two Nissans were forced to start at the back of the grid after failing to the meet the 110 percent qualifying speed regulation. At the end of the first hour, just 7.5 seconds separated the first six cars. Then the factory team #92 Porsche GTE car caught fire, with the the #13 Rebellion P1 car taking frontal damage in the ensuing carnage. With the safety car out, the field is once again bunched up.Hour 2: The slugfest between Audi and Porsche continues, with neither side backing off. Halfway through the second hour the #7 R18 passes both leading Porsches for the top position. After another round of pits stops Porsche regains the lead until lap 30, when the Audi overtake once again and quickly pulls out a three-second gap. Nico Hulkenburg passes the other two Audis to join his Porsche teammates. At the beginning of the third hour it's Audi #7, Porsche #17, #18, and #19, followed by Audi #8 and #9. 33 seconds separates this group, with Toyota a minute back from the front car.Hour 3: On track the action refuses to stop. Although it's early, Audi is looking strong with the overall lead in the #7. What's more is that the Audis run four stints per set of tires, while the Porsche cars have to change rubber every third stop. But after a quick refueling, the lead R18 gets a tire puncture and comes back in 3 laps later, allowing Porsche to take over the top two spots. Then as the hour closes out a yellow flag causes traffic to bunch up and the #8 Audi gets stuck with nowhere to slow down. Driver Loic Duval dives for the side of the road but hits the guard rail and careens across the track, damaging the front and rear bodywork. The rest of the car is still intact, though, and once in the pits Audi replaces the entire front and rear of that in only three minutes.
