You are viewing a 1991 Nissan 300zx 5 speed coupe slicktop finished in black over two tone blue interior. It is being sold as a great running and driving project, the new owner can happily drive it as is or begin addressing the areas that need some TLC. She has a clean carfax with no accident history on record or that we can see. Another project has come along so unfortunately the Z has to go. Mechanically, the car is in good shape with very few miles on a dealer installed timing belt. All suspension components are in good shape and the undercarriage is in decent shape with the exception of some surface rust, there is no structural or major rot. The rear swaybar is missing a tab which causes the car to clunk sometimes. The A/C does not blow cold and a reason for the issue has not been diagnosed. Last summer the cooling system was revised with a new thermostat, radiator and coolant flush. The exhaust system is a bit leaky but the rear axleback was replaced with fresh OEM units last summer. The transmission shifts without any issues, however the shifter could use some new bushings. The 16x7 rims on the car where taken off of a Maxima and were professionally refinished last summer in GM white with a basecoat, clearcoat finish. The Yokohama AVS ES100 225/50zr16 fronts and 245/45zr16 rears are in excellent condition with approximately 70% treadlife left. Electrically, everything is in working order with the exception of the radio which is ready for plug and play of a new unit. Speakers will be left in the car but you will need to provide a radio to get music playing in the car. The odometer has worked intermittently since it was purchased in the summer of 2011, it currently shows 68,308 and I would suspect that it has somewhere in the area of 70-80k but it will be sold as is with TMU (true mileage unknown). Overall the interior is in good condition with the exception of the driver’s seat where the bolsters have tears. The floormats are brand new and the doorcards are in great shape. All carpets are in good condition and would benefit from a shampoo. The exterior of the car was in the process of being prepped for paint but due to another project and loss of interest, it is being sold in its current state with come body work complete and the factory clearcoat sanded off. The drivers side rocker has a little bit of rot where the rear quarter meets the rocker. The rear windshield wiper arm and motor has been removed for the purpose of a wiper delete, the motor will be supplied, you will need to provide an arm and wiper. The driver’s side mirror glass is cracked and will need to be replaced. The windshield has a small crack at the passenger side where the molding meets glass. The moldings going across the roof are peeling off and with the aid of some new clips they will sit flat. The front bumper is cracked but a new OE Tong Yang unit will be included with the sale. Although it may seem like I have picked apart the car, I want to make sure I represent it honestly with all issues to my knowledge disclosed to the buyer. This will be listed with no reserve at a $0.01 starting bid, please do not bid if you do not intend on buying the car. Your bid is a binding contract and although the car is being sold AS-IS please ask questions that you may have prior to bidding. I have clean CT title in hand and can aid in shipping the vehicle. Local pickup is available in southern Connecticut. Any questions can be answered via email or call/text Mike at (203) 610-2867.

More pictures can be viewed if you Google search the following term "MKovac35 Photobucket Library" it will be the first result.

Thank you and happy bidding.

These 'blind' automotive world record stunts have to stop

Wed, Dec 7 2016

Drivers setting world records "blind" – wearing a blindfold or with something obscuring the windshield – is the new thing for some reason. First it was an Alfa Romeo Giulia setting a blind lap at Silverstone with help from a spotter trailing behind, and now this: a stunt man doing a J-turn within a narrow path with nothing but a Nissan Juke's cameras guiding him. He matched the "sighted" J-turn record, flipping the car around in a space about 7 inches longer than the car. I have two issues with these stunts. First, there are just too many world records. Yeah, I said it. Are these meaningful? Is someone else likely to ever attempt this feat? No, because it's just marketing, both for the manufacturer and whoever's still trying to sell those annual books. Stuff like the fastest production car is fine with me. Heck, I'll even take unofficial Nurburgring times – the kind where the drivers can actually see. Second, I'm all for stunts, but do something cool! And preferably something that could only be performed with that particular car, if you're going to make an ad out of it. Yes, the Juke has an Around View Monitor system, which stitches together feeds from four cameras to make it look like the car is being filmed by a drone hovering overhead. I happen to love 360-degree cameras – they let you see things that are just not visible from the driver's seat and make parking and low-speed maneuvering really easy. But the Juke isn't the first car to offer one, and the feature isn't even new to the car. Nissan was at least forthright enough to admit that this professional driver (on a closed course!) had a bunch of practice. But this really says more about his precision driving skills than about the car, or the camera. And just so we're clear, you really shouldn't try to park a car without looking out the windows, even if you have fancy cameras. So what's next? Pretty soon there will be a record for blindest blind stunt. Let me know when someone actually does something interesting. Related Video:

Nissan axing Pathfinder Hybrid from 2016 lineup

Thu, Jul 2 2015

The Nissan lineup gets a little smaller for the 2016 model year, as the Pathfinder Hybrid is dropped from the range. With its debut in late 2013, the electrically assisted SUV is one of the company's more recent introductions. However, it never really caught on with the public. "The Pathfinder Hybrid is not available in the US for the 2016 model year. Our emphasis is on the 3.5-liter V6 Pathfinder that achieves a best-in-class 20-city and 27-highway fuel economy," Nissan North America product communications director Dan Bedore confirmed to Autoblog. "Nissan has no announcement on future hybrid gasoline-electric powertrain applications at this time." Nissan actually ended production of the Pathfinder Hybrid in January, and "the hybrid was never a big part of Pathfinder sales," Bedore said to Automotive News. For the price premium, the electrically assisted version that combined a supercharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a 20-horsepower electric motor was only rated three or four miles per gallon better in EPA combined ratings than with the V6. However, while the company doesn't outline individual sales of the two, powertrain variants, the SUV is performing well so far this year. Through June 2015, sales are up 4.9 percent with 41,938 units sold. The future for the Infiniti QX60 Hybrid, which is the Pathfinder's more luxurious sibling, doesn't look very bright either. "For the United States, while the QX60 Hybrid continues to be available at some retailers across the country, our production is currently focused on the QX60 3.5 model," Infiniti spokesperson Kyle Bazemore told Autoblog. However, the vehicle is still in production at the Smyrna, TN, factory for export to places like China and Mexico. According to Bazemore if demand happens to increase in the US, "we have the manufacturing ability to make them available." Overall, QX60 sales are also up 14 percent this year in the US.

From Maseratis to rental cars | Autoblog Podcast #511

Fri, Apr 7 2017

On this week's podcast, Mike Austin and David Gluckman are in a huddle room (again), because the studio was already taken (again). We talk about the all-wheel-drive Dodge Challenger GT (again), as well as the Jeep Wrangler, Maserati Levante, Miata RF (again), and then David waxes poetic on mediocre rental cars (or similar). The episode wraps up with the traditional doling out of Spend My Money buying advice, with some input from an S2000 owner on advice discussed last time. The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want buying advice of your very own, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. (If you record audio of a question with your phone and get it to us, you could hear your very own voice on the podcast. Neat, right?) And if you have other questions or comments, please send those too.
