'90 Nissan Twin Turbo 300zx, 36802 Original Miles, Rare Pearl White on 2040-cars
Tonto Basin, Arizona, United States
This is a one of a kind story behind a fabulous car. While on the lot, someone chose to steal the car and lock it up in a storage building for a significant number of years. Then the man was arrested on drugs and the this car as well as others were found in an out building on the property. Insurance had already paid off the policy, the cars where relinquished into police custody and subsequently auctioned. This is why there was a salvage title on the vehicle, due to theft. We have a clear title, lien paid title. I am the fifth owner. The modifications from the stock model were made by the first owner and I have gone over them to insure that they didn't effect the performance of the car in anyway. Since being in my possession, she has been garage kept and was intended to be my gal for years and years. With the economic crunch I am having to part with her.
She is well equipped with a 3.0 Twin Turbo motor and automatic transmission. But it doesn't stop there. She has a GReddy Turbo Timer Serial GTT3 71301, HiPower HKS 6" muffler and exhaust tips, new Tiger Paw Uniroyal tires on stock 16" chrome alloy wheels. She also has a 6 disc cd changer with remote and after market fuel and brake pedals. She has the push button suspension adjustment for touring and sport and the HICAS rear wheel steering. Her air filter is a Stillen 8" air filter. She is equipped with an aftermarket cool air intake. I change her oil every 3000 miles and keep her in the garage. She has a cover as well. Lucy is a show car looking for a show! We have found little cosmetic damage from sun prior to my owning her. These are noted in the photos. She is as beautiful as you remember as a kid. That is how I fell in love with the Z series, from Datsun, through the leaps and unlikely bounds, the impossible gambles they took at Nissan that gave us such incredible, beautiful, and wonderful machines, until you press the gas pedal. Then Nissan gave us monsters. Any questions please call Jason at 928-606-2659 |

Detroit 3 to implement delayed unified towing standards for 2015
Tue, Feb 11 2014Car buyers have a responsibility to be well-informed consumers. That's not always a very simple task, but some guidelines are self-evident. If you live in a very snowy climate, you generally know a Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro might not be as viable a vehicle choice as an all-wheel drive Explorer or Traverse, for example. If you want a fuel-efficient car, it's generally a good idea to know the difference between a diesel and a hybrid. But what if it's kind of tough to be an informed consumer? What if the information you need is more difficult to come by, or worse, based on different standards for each vehicle? Well, in that case, you might be a truck shopper. For years, customers of light-duty pickups have had to suffer through different ratings of towing capacities for each brand. For 2015 model year trucks, though, that will no longer be a problem. According to Automotive News, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler Group have announced that starting with next year's models, a common standard will be used to measure towing capacity. The Detroit Three will join Toyota, which adopted the Society of Automotive Engineers' so-called SAE J2807 standards way back in 2011. The standard was originally supposed to be in place for MY2013, but concerns that it would lower the overall stated capacity for trucks led Detroit automakers to pass. Ford originally passed, claiming it'd wait until its new F-150 was launched to adopt the new standards, leading GM and Ram to follow suit. Nissan, meanwhile, has said it will adopt the new standards as its vehicles are updated, meaning the company's next-generation Titan should adhere to the same tow ratings as its competitors. While the adoption of SAE J2807 will be helpful for light-duty customers, those interested in bigger trucks will still be left with differing standards. There is no sign of the new tow standards being adopted for the heavy-duty market.
Nissan details Craigslist 1996 Maxima restoration
Wed, 19 Nov 2014"Luxury Defined," in the most ironic sense the galaxy has ever known, is now "Luxury Restored," in the real and incredible sense. Last September, Luke Aker made ads to sell his 1996 Nissan Maxima GLE, the YouTube version being a mix truth, bombast, a British accent and a ratchet strap. The ad tickled Nissan such that it bought the car from Akes and made a donation to a charity of his choice. Then they consulted with the citizens of the Internet to decide what to do with it, the final vote being a complete restoration and display at the company's Nashville HQ.
Friends, Netizens, countrymen, the job is done. Nicknamed "Old Glory," comparing the old car with the new is like reading one of those shelter dog rescue stories where the loving family nurses an impossibly cute pup back to health with handheld nursing sessions, baby bottles of warm milk and whispered lullabies. Only Nissan probably didn't sing to the Maxima.
The Maxima is now on display, and we hope they've hung the ratchet strap with it. You can see Aker's new video on the transformation above, plus another video and press release below detailing the Maxima's journey back to New Glory.
Andy Palmer leaves Renault-Nissan to serve as CEO of Aston Martin
Tue, 02 Sep 2014Aston Martin has been without a helmsman since Ulrich Bez stepped down from the chief executive office at the end of last year, stepping back to serve as non-executive chairman in a semi-retired ambassadorial capacity. The British automaker, now on the cusp of a new era, has been running without a CEO since, but has now named Bez's replacement in Andy Palmer.
If you don't recognize the name, you should: Palmer has worked under the Renault-Nissan Alliance for decades now, rising through the ranks to become one of the top executives under Carlos Ghosn. Most recently he was serving as executive vice president of the entire group and chairman of the Infiniti brand, but like Carlos Tavares, who recently left Renault to run Peugeot, Palmer is now embarking on a new mission as CEO of Aston Martin.
Once the transition period is complete at the start of October, Palmer's role as Chief Planning Officer at Renault-Nissan will be assumed by Philippe Klein, who steps up from his current role as executive vice president of product planning for Renault. Read the statements from both companies below.
