This car has been my daily driver around town and on the highway. Its an 86 and has very low miles 135k which are a combo of city and highway miles. The interior of the car is very good for such an older car. Things that need work are a new stereo and a rip in the drivers side door panel. Their is a brand new custom built leather center console piece with cup holders painted to the same color of the car. AC needs a charge. I just replaced the driver and passengers side window motors. All of the lights inside the car work perfectly. Security system still works fine and talks to you. Shocks and springs were replaced by the previous owner and aren't sagging. Car still has the stock lock nuts and stock donut rim. Lots of new parts and maintainence including oil, oil filter, air filter, serpentine belts, starter, alternator, battery (2.5 years left on warranty), radiator cap, slave cylinder, stainless steel muffler, fuel pump, headlights. Was told by the previous owner that the turbo was replaced around 120k. Its missing two bolts from the passengers side exhaust manifold causing the car to be a bit loud (like a motorcycle). This car has a clean title and has not been in an accident. This is an arizona car so there is no rust other then the windshield wiper other then I can see. Clutch starting to get a little weaker, but like I said its my daily driver and I wouldn't be afraid to take it anywhere. Car passed emissions test in Arizona last month and I have the papers. This car is nearly all stock and hasn't been raced, drifted, gutted, or anything else of that nature.

Semi-autonomous Nissan Leaf certified for road use in Japan [w/video]
Sat, 28 Sep 2013In order to meet its goal of having an autonomous car in production by 2020, Nissan is going to have be able to test its technology in real-world driving conditions. For this, the automaker has just received a license plate to legally test its semi-autonomous driver assist systems in Japan, marking the first time such technologies have been tested on that country's roads. Not ironically, the license plate number is 2020.
Though not fully autonomous, this Leaf prototype will test various components of a self-driving car including exiting the highway, the ability to stay in its lane and change lanes when needed, stopping at red lights and overtaking stopped or slow traffic. Nissan is also in the process of building a proving ground in Oppama, Japan dedicated solely to autonomous cars, but the ability to test on public roads will obviously play a crucial role in the development of these cars. Scroll down for a short video and press release Nissan posted to mark the occasion.
Next-gen Nissan Leaf will look more mainstream, have more range
Thu, May 8 2014The next-generation Nissan Leaf battery-electric vehicle will look better and go farther on a single charge, company executives tell Automotive News. How much better and how much farther remains to be seen, as does the timing on when the new version will be available to the public. Nissan executive Andy Palmer, speaking recently at the Beijing Motor Show, implied that an electric vehicle would need to have a 185-mile single-charge range to be competitive with hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles, once those arrive in larger numbers. While Nissan boosted its single-charge range by about 15 percent for the 2014 model-year Leaf, the automaker would need to double it to reach that competitive threshold. This seems unlikely for the next-gen model, but we can start making our guesses as to how many more miles Nissan will put into the pack. Regardless, the next-generation Leaf, which may come out around 2017, will at least look a bit more mainstream while it reaches for more range, Automotive News says, citing Nissan global design chief Mamoru Aoki. Indeed, the car, which will keep its hatchback layout, will likely look less angular, said Aoki, who complimented Tesla for the way it styled its Model S luxury electric sedan. Nissan's Infiniti arm could also debut its delayed luxury electric vehicle in 2017, complete with the improved battery pack. Angular looks and all, Nissan continues to increase sales in the US. Leaf sales through April were up 33 percent from 2013, to 7,272 units after more than doubling sales last year to 22,610 vehicles.
Ghosn: 'While I'm proud of our EV leadership, I know it's not enough.'
Thu, Dec 17 2015Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn has written something like a State of the Union on electric vehicles and the carbon economy. We'd sum it up as, 'we're working on it but we all need to work harder.' Ghosn believes all of the commitments made at the Paris COP21 climate change conference are a start, but "the support of the business community is imperative," in coordination with the public sector. He stresses that he's after an "orderly transition," one that uses what we have now in order to go where many believe we need to go. That means no threats or revolution, no "aggressive government intervention and centralized demand and control," but rather a "practical, affordable way to begin reducing dependence" on the fuel that turns the skies brown. Ghosn wraps up his manifesto this way: "The UN Secretary General recently said that we are the first generation to feel the effects of climate change and the last to be able to do anything to stop it. This is a call to action, and the auto industry is committed to doing its part." Based on the undeniable shift toward the electrification of the automobile, we know that the call is being answered. Given the limited market share EVs have today, it could still use some more people and companies picking up the phone. With vehicle numbers expected to grow from 800 million to more than two billion by 2050, "transition will occur one way or another," Ghosn writes. Head over to Forbes to read Ghosn's thoughts.
