Needs a new clutch and needs new passengers side exhaust manifold studs and bolts. Also could use a new paint job and AC conversion. Otherwise just tiny interior details but nothing major."

I have 86 300zx Turbo.  It runs good and is my daily driver.  As any 30 year old car it needs a little TLC.  Needs a new clutch soon and a passengers side exhaust manifold bolts (this causes the car to sound like a motorcycle for now, but it passed emissions in arizona).Could use the AC conversion or paint job if you wanted.  Otherwise this car has run great and never left me stranded.  Just replaced the battery, starter, alternator, oil, filter, plugs, wires, radiator cap, serpentine belt, clutch slave cylinder, brake fluid, fuel pump ($300), fuel tank cleaned, headlights, newer shocks .  The car has no dings or dents other then a minor scratch here or there.  Turbo used to spool fine before the exhaust leak, but pressure can't build because before the turbo because of the exhaust manifold bolts missing.  The turbo does still spool positive though, just not as high due to the leak. Everything is stock except for the stainless steel Borla muffler (the stock one had holes).  The alarm still functions perfect.  Headlights function perfect.  Both windows go up and down.  No lights on the dashboard or check engine light.  Drives fine and doesn't shake on the highway or anything strange like that. The longest i have driven is 3 hours on the highway and back with no issues.  Clean title and easily passed the emissions test in arizona.  T-Tops don't leak.  Car will be sold as is.  This car isn't too much of a restoration project as mostly everything is done, but definitely fun to drive.  Stereo not included (I had a high end deck). This car has not been raced, drifted, gutted or anything else like that, mostly a highway driver and a little in town. No rust (might be a centimeter surface patch on the windshield wiper blade), this is an arizona car.

As long as payment is made on time I can hold the car for you up to 2 weeks at my house for pickup so you can find time to come pick it up.

Feds Probe Nissan Cars For Unintended Acceleration

Tue, Jul 1 2014

DETROIT (AP) - The U.S. government's road safety agency is investigating complaints that a trim panel can cause unwanted acceleration in Nissan Versa small cars. The probe covers about 360,000 Nissan Versa and Versa Note subcompacts from the 2012 through 2014 model years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says in documents posted Saturday on its website that four drivers have complained that a trim panel near the gas pedal can trap the edge of a driver's shoe. This can stop the driver from releasing the gas pedal quickly and delay braking. There are no reports of crashes or injuries, although one driver complained of a close call at an intersection on June 9. As the driver accelerated to make a left turn, a plastic trim panel that covers the center console trapped the driver's shoe and stopped it from moving off the gas pedal, the complaint said. "I used my right hand to grab my leg and pulled harder, immediately braking hard, then backing my foot off the brake as I squealed and skidded around the corner, almost going over the curb and crashing," the driver wrote. The driver reported that the edge of the trim piece wasn't secured and trapped the sole of a leather work boot. Drivers who file complaints are not identified by NHTSA. Two of the four complaints were from drivers of rental cars, the agency said. A fifth complaint was filed in an unidentified foreign country, according to NHTSA. Investigations can lead to recalls but so far there are none in this case. Messages were left seeking comment Saturday from a Nissan spokesman. Nissan details Craigslist 1996 Maxima restoration

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

"Luxury Defined," in the most ironic sense the galaxy has ever known, is now "Luxury Restored," in the real and incredible sense. Last September, Luke Aker made ads to sell his 1996 Nissan Maxima GLE, the YouTube version being a mix truth, bombast, a British accent and a ratchet strap. The ad tickled Nissan such that it bought the car from Akes and made a donation to a charity of his choice. Then they consulted with the citizens of the Internet to decide what to do with it, the final vote being a complete restoration and display at the company's Nashville HQ.
Friends, Netizens, countrymen, the job is done. Nicknamed "Old Glory," comparing the old car with the new is like reading one of those shelter dog rescue stories where the loving family nurses an impossibly cute pup back to health with handheld nursing sessions, baby bottles of warm milk and whispered lullabies. Only Nissan probably didn't sing to the Maxima.
The Maxima is now on display, and we hope they've hung the ratchet strap with it. You can see Aker's new video on the transformation above, plus another video and press release below detailing the Maxima's journey back to New Glory.

Nissan reportedly rejecting Renault proposal for closer ties

Tue, Apr 23 2019

TOKYO — Nissan Motor Co Ltd will reject a management integration proposal from French partner Renault SA and will call for an equal capital relationship, the Nikkei newspaper said on Monday, citing sources. Nissan's management feels the Japanese company has not been treated as an equal of Renault under existing capital ties, and a merger would make this inequality permanent, the Nikkei reported. The outlook for the alliance — one of the world's top automaking partnerships — has been in focus since the arrest in November of its main architect, Carlos Ghosn, on charges of financial misconduct. The former Nissan and Renault chairman has denied the charges against him and has said he was the victim of a boardroom coup by Nissan executives opposed to closer ties. To which, Bloomberg reported that it has seen emails in which Nissan executives were working with Japanese government officials to defend the company's independence, as Ghosn was pushing for a full merger. The emails indicate growing concern at high levels of the Japanese government, in the months before Ghosn's arrest, that his merger efforts would boost Renault and its largest shareholder, the French government, and harm Nissan, in a relationship the Japanese already saw as lopsided. The emails indicated a desire to keep the existing structure of the alliance with a "re-balancing of the shareholding" to reduce Renault's 43 percent stake in Nissan, and stated that Nissan's independence "should be respected." Nissan declined to comment directly on the emails, while reiterating that misconduct by Ghosn and his former aide, Greg Kelly, is "the sole cause of the chain of events." Renault saved Nissan from the brink of bankruptcy two decades ago and under their current capital alliance, the French company holds greater control over its much larger partner. Nissan Chief Executive Hiroto Saikawa declined to say whether the company had received a merger proposal from Renault. "Now is not the time to think of such things," he told a group of reporters outside of his house in Tokyo. "At the moment we are focused on improving Nissan's earnings performance. Please give us time to do that." Renault declined to comment on the report. Renault has argued in its proposal that an integration would maximize synergies within the French-Japanese alliance, according to the Nikkei. The Financial Times reported last month of Renault's intention to restart merger talks with Nissan within 12 months.
