This car has been my baby for fifteen years. I have only driven this car on nice days free from rain. The car has been meticulously cared for over the years. I bought it in Florida and have had it in Michigan ever since. It has always been garaged and service kept up to date. The 60,000 mile maintenance has been completed. I am selling because work and fatherhood have been keeping me to busy too enjoy the car. It has been completely repainted by a professional award winning custom car shop. I have over $22,000 invested into the custom black pearl metal flake and body work. It is absolutely beautiful and has a mirror like clear coat on it. The door seals and tee top weatherstripping has been replaced to freshen up the car. The outside rubber trim has been replaced as well. the bottom trim on the door and wavy design they put on the bottom of the door has been smoothed out to update the look. The windshield is brand new along with the third tailight. I cracked two already before this one and this one has also cracked. At 370 dollars a piece my advice is to give up and accept some cracks as they are apparently unavoidable.

The interior was done at a custom interior company. It is a grey carbon fiber combined with black leather. The original interior is really outdated and fades terribly. This interior was just completed last month and looks brand new. The interior was another $2,000 dollars. It is not show quality but a major improvement over the original or any of the pleather kits on ebay.

Upgrades:
Tires are both the same size to allow rotating and they have less than 1000 miles on them. They are kumho ecsta AA rated tires good for speeds above 149
one piece aluminum drive shaft from Z1 motorsports
Test pipes and borla exhaust
6 puck clutch and rebuilt transmission less than 3000 miles since both were completed
3000 ft remote start with door popper for the driver side door (shaved doors means no door handles)
The lambo door kit actually comes with linear actuators to lift the doors automatically I took them off as they were not really necessary. ($2,800 dollars for the kit plus professional installation)
Veilside body kit with urethane front bumper
Strosek rear tail lights and all clear smoked signals
Skull short shifter with light up LED eyes
Dash has 7 color dimmable face guages
Air fuel ratio gauge and boost pressure with one spare gauge location for additional info.
Wideband o2 meter with r500 monitoring/logging and laptop compatible software. Great for making sure your Z is doing what its supposed to, the original equipment is known to be wildly inaccurate
Brand new heater core and wiring harness (the electronic connections bake with the turbos and they become brittle and crack. The new hood has helped tremendously to keep the engine bay from trapping heat in)

As this car was built in 1991 there are a few things that are not in perfect order. The cruise control has a cut wire somewhere and no longer works and I have not bothered to trace it down yet as I never use cruise control.
The 4 wheel steering light comes on after about twenty minutes of driving. I took it to the dealership and they said nothing is wrong and everything is in working order. I have the paperwork to show this in writing from the Nissan dealer.
The paint does have a few scratches that are buffed out that you probably can not see in the pictures. I also have some cracks in the hood that I am still waiting on the new one to come in. It has been on back order for some time now and I hope it will be here in time but assume this is the hood your getting. Other than that the car is excellent shape and purrs like a kitten.

I have had this car for fifteen years so I am not even sure all the things I have done over the years so please come and look at the car and take it for a spin to truly appreciate it up close. I am willing to pay for half of shipping to anywhere in the US up to 500 dollars as long as the reserve is met

Toyota, Nissan, Honda will work together on hydrogen filling stations

Thu, Feb 12 2015

Japan's own version of the Big Three is taking on a transportation effort that's a far cry from the large-engined history of General Motors, Ford and Chrysler. In fact, Toyota, Nissan and Honda are looking to do their part – and maybe a little more – for the environment by working together to collaborate on accelerating the deployment of hydrogen fuel delivery in Japan. More refueling stations means more convenience for prospective hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle owners. Toyota says the specifics, including investment amount and the number of stations to be deployed, will be "determined at a later date." Still, the effort dovetails with that of the Japanese government. That government announced a so-called Strategic Road Map for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells last June and subsequently said it would start offering about $20,000 worth of incentives for fuel cell vehicle buyers. In December, Toyota started selling its first mass-produced fuel cell vehicle, the Mirai, in Japan and said it would almost triple production to 2,000 vehicles in 2016 from 700 this year. Last month, the Tokyo government began talks with Toyota and Honda to collaborate on ensuring that there'd be at least 6,000 fuel-cell vehicles on Japan's roads in time for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Tokyo officials are looking to have 100,000 fuel-cell vehicles on the city's roads by 2025. Check out Toyota's press release below. Toyota, Nissan, and Honda to Jointly Support Hydrogen Station Infrastructure Development Toyota Motor Corporation, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., and Honda Motor Co., Ltd. have agreed to work together to help accelerate the development of hydrogen station infrastructure for fuel cell vehicles (FCVs). Specific measures to be undertaken by the three manufacturers will be determined at a later date. For hydrogen-fueled FCVs to gain popularity, it is not only important that attractive products be launched-hydrogen station infrastructure must also be developed. At present, infrastructure companies are making every effort to build such an infrastructure, but they face difficulties in installing and operating hydrogen stations while FCVs are not common on the road. Following the formulation of its Strategic Road Map for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in June 2014, the Japanese government has highlighted the importance of developing hydrogen station infrastructure as quickly as possible in order to popularize FCVs.

Recharge Wrap-up: Renault-Nissan at COP22, BMW launches Cruise e-Bike

Thu, Oct 6 2016

The Renault-Nissan Alliance has been chosen to provide a fleet of electric cars for the UN's COP22 Climate Conference in Marrakesh, Morocco. The group will provide 50 passenger EVs – the Renault Zoe, Nissan Leaf, and Nissan e-NV200 – to shuttle delegates to and from conference venues. The Alliance will also provide more than 20 charging stations to support the shuttle fleet. The group provided electric shuttles for the historic COP21 summit in Paris last year. Under the Memorandum of Understanding, FCA and Iveco will work together to develop CNG vehicles, while Snam will invest in CNG supply facilities like filling stations to support a growing fleet. Italy leads Europe in the amount of natural gas consumed for transport, with 1 million vehicles currently on the road. Read more at Green Car Congress. LG Chem has officially announced it will build a battery plant in Poland to the tune of about $340 million. Located near Wroclaw in southwestern Poland, the plant is expected to produce 100,000 batteries a year for 200-mile EVs beginning in 2019. The plant could help Poland in its goal to reduce pollution by introducing a million EVs on its roads by 2025. "We will turn the Poland EV battery plant into a mecca of battery production for electric vehicles around the world," says UB Lee, President of LG Chem's Energy Solution Company. Construction begins in the second half of 2017. Read more from Automotive News Europe. BMW has introduced the Cruise e-Bike. Its Bosch Performance Line electric motor provides electric assistance at speeds of up to 15 mph. The battery can be either be removed or remain on the bike for charging, which takes 3.5 hours for a full charge. "BMW aims to be the leading provider of premium mobility services, and our bicycle collection furthers that mission," says BMW Accessory and Lifestyle Manager Eric Riehle. "As we enter the holiday season, these bikes make the perfect present for those wishing for their first BMW." The BMW Cruise e-Bike costs $3,430. Read more from BMW.

Nissan Leaf battery cells put through torture test, live to charge again

Sun, Mar 2 2014

One minor chink in the armor of the Tesla Model S is that a small number have caught fire, once their battery packs were penetrated. Nissan Leaf drivers, however, might just be able to weather such an event without an ensuing CarBQ. Our evidence for such a claim? A video that has surfaced of cells from a Leaf pack undergoing a battery of torture tests (pun somewhat-ashamedly intended). Shared by folks at the Hybrid Auto Center in Las Vegas – who offer for sale, among other things, used Leaf lithium battery modules – the footage shows salvaged cells being brutally assaulted with a screwdriver, and later, a propane torch. Granted, these tests are not the same thing as flinging a piece of metal into a working pack at 70 miles per hour, but they do claim to show that a puncture does not always equal a fire. Oh, and don't try this at home. When pierced through by the flat head tool, there is no explosion or eruption of flame. Instead, a rather modest wisp of smoke shyly emerges as the electrolyte next to the shorted area of the fully-charged foil pouch reacts with the influx of oxygen. Again and again, the blade descends, until the cell is riddled with holes. No fire. Amazingly, when connected with a voltmeter afterward there are still plenty of signs of life, and when it is charged and discharged (off-camera), it reportedly suffers only a slight loss of charge capacity. The video goes on to show another cell attacked with open flame with similar results. While the demonstration is, perhaps, somewhat crude, the message it sends is loud and clear: lithium batteries can be safe and rather robust, despite some freak accidents.
