All inquiries except: from those that do not have the funds, have to consult with the "Boss" first, or are afraid to buy a car long distance. Fairly priced for a straight ZX that has not been messed with. My feedback is 100% and that should count for something. It is almost like driving a new car, and for those who remember / owned one, it is more surreal. I reserve the right to end this listing at anytime. This is a 2 owner, exceedingly well maintained gem that has never been driven hard or abused. Great for Z clubs / events. Do not hesitate to reach me via phone: 305-302-4617. Some palm tree and pavement reflections from the sun. The engine bay is not dirty, it is the cosmoline / rust protectant that was applied when new. Can be removed, but left as original. I can assist with shipping, as I have a contact in the industry. Let me know if you need a quote. It belongs on a car hauler.
1983 Datsun / Nissan 280ZX 5 speed w/ 38000 mi. - Last year of the great 80's generation - GETTING MORE DIFFICULT TO FIND IN THIS ORIGINAL / UNMOLESTED / RUST FREE CONDITION. This awesome 280 has an all orig. interior, down to the floor mats. It has been meticulously cared for and garage kept. For a Datsun / Nissan purist, it is definitely a great piece of history. NO ACCIDENTS / NO PAINT. All systems on point and function as new. The Orig. Red paint has an amazing 32 year old shine. It was Rust coated when new, so no corrosion. The moldings, handles, window glass, lettering, roof panels, covers, rubber seals, and all other exterior features are in super condition. The wheels are clean and the tires are like new. It drives straight down the road with zero issues. Never run through an automatic car wash and always hand washed / waxed are a great part as to why it shows so well. On the inside, the Gray interior still looks and feels great. As you can see in the pics, the seats have always been covered and the flooring still holds the orig. mats from 83. The door panels, t-top bags, t-top inserts, dash ( no cracks ), center console, faceplates, etc. are stock orig. and all of the interior buttons / switches - power windows, door locks, antenna, cruise, hatch release, fuel door, and even the clock keeps perfect time ( see pic ). It does have the orig. stereo / speakers and the sound is great. The orig. spare, tools, jack, inflator canister, bolts are still in place. Mechanically, it starts, idles, and drives smoothly as you would expect of "well-oiled" machine. The engine compartment is stock and all of the servicing is up to date - a/c, belts, tune up, hoses, coolant, thermostat, fluids all changed / maintained at the proper intervals, The 5 speed tranny / clutch shift softly and it performs on all levels. It has never been driven hard. The a/c is blistering cold and the brakes have plenty of pad left. All of the other mechanical functions are on point. A fun blast from the past that is a great conversation piece and will get you positive attention wherever you go. Nissan announces 5-year/100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty for commercial vehicles
Thu, 19 Jun 2014Nissan is a relative new-kid when it comes to the commercial van market in the US, with its commercial vehicles division only introducing the first NV vans in February 2011. But Nissan isn't letting its newcomer status keep it from challenging the established players in the segment. The company's latest shot over competitors' bows is announcing that, starting for the 2014 model year, its NV Cargo, NV Passenger and NV200 Compact Cargo vans carry a best-in-class, five-year/100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. Their powertrain coverage also gets a 40,000-mile increase to five years/100,000 miles.
The new warranty is a huge leap over adversaries in the segment and should lure in some buyers looking for a longer term of coverage. The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Ram ProMaster, Ford Transit and Transit Connect all carry a three-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. The Fords offer five years and 60,000 miles of powertrain coverage, while all of the others increase that to 100,000 miles. Until this announcement, Nissan had the standard thee years of coverage, as well.
The Japanese automaker is clearly hungry to grab a bigger piece of the commercial van pie. Its heavy-duty NV vans have a relatively small 5.3 percent market share in their segment as of May 2014, according to the company's figures, but the NV200 is doing better with a 19.4 percent share. The division as a whole is on the upswing, though, with sales up 88 percent so far in 2014. With just a few years under its belt, Nissan Commercial Vehicles seems unafraid to challenge the status quo in the segment. Let's see how buyers respond. Scroll down to read the full announcement about the new warranty.
2016 Civic, Sonata, Lexus RX, and Altima earn TSP+ from IIHS [w/videos]
Thu, Jan 14 2016The 2016 Honda Civic sedan, Hyundai Sonata, Lexus RX, and Nissan Altima started the year with a bang by earning Top Safety Pick+ honors from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. They join 48 other 2016 model year vehicles that IIHS already tested that received the agency's top safety marks. These four models met the IIHS' latest requirement, scoring the agency's best possible score in all five of its crash tests – front, side, rear, rollover, and the difficult small-overlap – to be eligible for the safety accolade. Hyundai improved the 2016 Sonata's structure after the sedan's production began, so this rating only applied to examples produced after October. To get the TSP+ honor, a vehicle's crash prevention tech needs to earn least two points on the IIHS' scale. The lower Top Safety Pick designation can go to model with a "basic" version of these systems like a front collision warning. The Civic, Sonata, and RX scored the maximum six points to get "superior" scores for their optional crash prevention tech because they avoided collisions at up to 25 miles per hour. The Altima was successful in a 12-mph test, but the system slowed the sedan by 10 mph in the 25-mph test rather than completely stopping it. Therefore, the agency awarded the Nissan five points, which was still a "superior" score. You can watch the small-overlap tests for the Civic, RX, Altima, and Sonata respectively below. Four more vehicles earn the 2016 TOP SAFETY PICK+ award ARLINGTON, Va. — The Honda Civic 4-door, Hyundai Sonata, Lexus RX and Nissan Altima are the latest vehicles to earn the top award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The four vehicles join the 2016 winner's circle just one month after the initial crop of 48 TOP SAFETY PICK+ winners was announced. The requirements for TOP SAFETY PICK+ were tightened for 2016. To qualify, winners must earn good ratings in each of the Institute's five crashworthiness tests and have an available front crash prevention system earning an advanced or superior rating.
Tokyo court rejects Carlos Ghosn's bail request
Tue, Jan 22 2019TOKYO — A Tokyo court rejected former Nissan chairman Carlos Ghosn's latest request for bail on Tuesday, more than two months after his arrest. A statement from the Tokyo District Court announcing its decision gave no explanation for prolonging a detention of the 64-year-old executive, which has drawn international scrutiny of Japan's justice system. Ghosn had promised to wear an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet, give up his passport and pay for security guards approved by prosecutors in his latest attempt to gain release from a Tokyo detention center. His family said they will appeal. Ghosn has been in custody since Nov. 19. He had a bail hearing Monday. A Tokyo court rejected an earlier request for bail last week. Ghosn, who led Nissan Motor Co. for two decades, has been charged with falsifying financial reports in underreporting his compensation from Nissan over eight years, and with breach of trust, centering on allegations Ghosn had Nissan temporarily shoulder his personal investment losses and pay a Saudi businessman. Ghosn has said he is innocent, explaining that the alleged compensation was never decided, Nissan didn't suffer losses and the payment was for legitimate services. His wife, Carole Ghosn, appealed for his release through Human Rights Watch earlier this month, saying Ghosn's treatment has been harsh and unfair. Her views echo widespread criticism of Japan's criminal justice system both inside and outside Japan. Suspects who insist they are innocent get held longer. Suspects are held in a cell and routinely grilled daily by investigators without a lawyer present, although lawyers are allowed to visit. Ghosn's lawyer Motonari Ohtsuru has acknowledged Ghosn's release may not come until the trial, which may be six months away. A date for the trial has not been set. Nissan officials say an internal investigation has found that Ghosn had schemes to hide his income and that he used company money and assets for personal gain. A special committee Nissan set up after Ghosn's arrest to strengthen governance held its first meeting Sunday. Seiichiro Nishioka, a former judge and co-chair, told reporters after the meeting that Ghosn had shown questionable ethics, and too much power within the company had been focused in one person. The committee's findings are due by late March. Ghosn's pay was long a sticking point in Japan, where executives generally get paid far less than their American and other Western counterparts.
