1993 Nissan 240 SX Hatchback SE. 1 owner (my father in law, who passed away before completing the restoration). Repainted in 2010 along with new spoiler. Body is in excellent condition. Slight leak at driver's rear tail-light (seal needs replacing) but no major rust. Does need new spare tire (dry rotten after 20 years...). Other tires in good shape. Garage kept since 2010 (after it was repainted). Drives well. Synthetic Mobil One used for the life of the car. Car is all stock except the Pioneer Premier CD/MP3 head unit, amplifier and Sony sub-woofer. No mechanical modifications have ever been done. Stock 2.4L/4 cylinder engine with 5 speed manual shift. Small oil leak at crank front seal and timing cover, but not enough oil loss to need additional oil in between changes. Timing chain rattles and will eventually need new roller, guides and sprockets at some point in the future per my mechanic. Slightly rough idle but doesn't stall, smoke or sputter. Air conditioner blows cold air. All maintenance records available. Cigarette smoke occasionally permeated interior up until 2010, interior will likely need to be replaced to complete the restoration as the driver's seat has a tear and the carpets do have a few stains. Overall a good daily driver, but certainly with a little work could be a spectacular car club eligible ride. Clear title. Serious buyers only. Nissan bringing GT-R LM Nismo to Le Mans in 2015 [w/videos]
Fri, 23 May 2014The Nissan Zeod RC hybrid racecar is certainly cool with its pointy looks, we're excited to see it run, but it isn't built to win races so much as push boundaries. But we might not have too to wait long for one of the Japanese brand's vehicles to claim an overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well. The company is announcing the GT-R LM Nismo racecar with a two-car, full factory effort in the top LMP1 class of the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship, including Le Mans.
Details about the new racer are almost nonexistent at the moment. The only glimpses that we have are its silhouette under a sheet (above) and the briefest peek at its quad circular taillights in one of the teaser videos. However, the team is making some big promises about the car. "We want to win in a very different way to that of our rivals. We won't be turning up in a vehicle, which is a basically another hybrid that looks like another Porsche, Audi or Toyota - they all look the same to me," said Nissan's Chief Planning Officer and Executive Vice President Andy Palmer in the official announcement. Mechanically, Nissan is revealing even less about the GT-R LM Nismo for now. We are just going to have to wait and find out.
The brand will be aiming for a win in the 24-hour race, but it won't come easy. Nissan will absolutely face stiff competition from the combined forces of Audi, Porsche and Toyota in the top LMP1 class. Nissan teases new pickup on Twitter [w/video]

Mon, 30 Dec 2013Moving is not fun. On the scale of adult activities, it ranks somewhere between taxes and jury duty. Boxes need to be loaded, furniture needs to be lifted and the entire affair is typically fueled by a combination of pizza, beer and pain killers (a combo my friends affectionately refer to as "moving fuel"). It's not fun, and it's rarely easy.
While it doesn't make the activity any more enjoyable, having the right vehicle for the job is the difference between loading and unloading half a dozen times and doing it once or twice. When taken as a whole, a proper moving van can shave hours off a day of labor, not to mention untold years of physical and mental stress for those who must take to their wheels every day.
That truism was borne out once again when I borrowed a loaded Nissan NV200 SV to help my girlfriend move into her new house. The little Nissan was a comfortable and able companion throughout the day, managing everything from a mattress and box springs to countless boxes of clothes, dishes and other necessities. Throughout the day, the NV impressed not just with the amount of stuff it could fit in its cavernous back end, but with the features it had to make moving anything easier.
