1993 Nissan 240 SX Hatchback SE. 1 owner (my father in law, who passed away before completing the restoration). Repainted in 2010 along with new spoiler. Body is in excellent condition. Slight leak at driver's rear tail-light (seal needs replacing) but no major rust. Does need new spare tire (dry rotten after 20 years...). Other tires in good shape. Garage kept since 2010 (after it was repainted). Drives well. Synthetic Mobil One used for the life of the car. Car is all stock except the Pioneer Premier CD/MP3 head unit, amplifier and Sony sub-woofer. No mechanical modifications have ever been done. Stock 2.4L/4 cylinder engine with 5 speed manual shift. Small oil leak at crank front seal and timing cover, but not enough oil loss to need additional oil in between changes. Timing chain rattles and will eventually need new roller, guides and sprockets at some point in the future per my mechanic. Slightly rough idle but doesn't stall, smoke or sputter. Air conditioner blows cold air. All maintenance records available. Cigarette smoke occasionally permeated interior up until 2010, interior will likely need to be replaced to complete the restoration as the driver's seat has a tear and the carpets do have a few stains. Overall a good daily driver, but certainly with a little work could be a spectacular car club eligible ride. Clear title. Serious buyers only. Formula Drift kicks off 11th season on Streets of Long Beach

The 2014 Formula Drift series kicked off last weekend in Long Beach, and saw Chris Forsberg, who you'll recall went mad and drifted around a warehouse in an Infiniti M, take the title behind the wheel of his Hankook Tire Nissan 370Z (shown above).
Forsberg really ran away with the first round of competition, outscoring his closest opponent, second-place finisher Kenneth Moen and his Bridges Racing Nissan 240SX, by 20 points. Third place was 2013 championship winner Michael Essa and his Yokohama BMW M3, 30.5 points behind Forsberg.
In the manufacturers' title, Nissan took an early lead with 122 points, which isn't a huge surprise considering five of the top ten drifters were piloting either a Z or a product of the brand's S platform. Ford, which had two drivers (Justin Pawlak and Vaughn Gittin, Jr.) in the top ten, took home second place, while BMW is currently third in the manufacturers' standings.

Fiat contemplating sub-brand to compete with Dacia, Datsun

You can add Fiat to the admittedly short list of automakers considering a low-cost brand to rival Dacia. The inexpensive Eastern European brand from Renault-Nissan has performed on the balance sheet like a premium model line, and the money the alliance is taking off the table is encouraging other players to deal themselves in. Pretty soon Nissan's Datsun sub-brand will join the Dacia party, going on sale in Russia, Indonesia and India and will claim even more rubles, rupiahs and rupees for the parent company. Volkswagen recently said it will make a decision this year on a budget line for the Chinese market. With the euthanasia of Lancia and plans to move the Fiat brand upmarket, company CEO Sergio Marchionne wonders aloud to Automotive News Europe whether there could be room for a new budget brand underneath Fiat.
We're told that the initiative has been in the idea box for five years and even moved to the stage of name considerations, like Innocenti, but worries about profit kept it from realization. If such a range were to be developed, Marchionne says it couldn't be built in Italy and stay within budget, and the company is "analyzing its manufacturing capacity outside of Europe to see if a low-cost brand is viable."
