I have a 1989 Nissan 240sx with a clean title in hand. It has GOODS and BADS. Most of the BADS are cosmetic, and if you have a little time and energy, you can make this a really nice car. I will give you a list of the problems, and what needs to be done to make this a nice car again.
I know these particular cars are decently hard to come by as a full car, and this was my first car.I understand it needs work, and you should also before contacting me :)
The car fires right up and runs great, the mileage says 172,xxx but i had a rebuilt motor of the same kind put in back in 07....i havent driven it that aweful much since then, so i wouldnt assume there to be much over 50,000 on the actual motor.
It has been sitting in the garage for the past several years, so it needs a good cleaning and under the hood needs a good cleaning as well, i did clean the inside....vaccum and wipe down etc..
I put a brand new battery in it, master and slave cylinder, new trans fluid and oil change.
It has a nice sunroof that works good, and power everything, plus a rockford cd player.
The intereior has definite wear, but looks pretty good for the age of it.
There is something wrong with the transmission, i think it has something to do with the slave cylinder, but cant be sure. I have all gears, but no reverse. I took it in to get serviced and had a new master and slave put in. when i got it back there was all gears and no reverse. The company has since gone out of bussiness and there is nothing i can do about it. I was told it may not have been bled properly, again i dont know and thats why i had a mechanic look at it. If you can strategically place the car all the time....then who needs reverse anyway :)
There is some rust through on the passenger and driver door and some rust bubbles in various spots including the gas cap and front left quarter panel. There is also 2 shallow creases in the driver door, and a crack in the dash. Most of this like i said is cosmetic, I have a gallon of bondo for the rust spots that you can have. It isnt hard stuff to fix, i just dont have the time with my new job.
It needs a new muffler, unless you dont mind the slight noisiness of it. 45 dollars for that. It will be needing new tires soon, i have a spare on the front driver side, but have the actual rim and tire, it just needs a new valve stem, this tire is worn out also. I checked online and you can get the 205-60-r15 for 45 dollars a piece brand new, or there are plenty on craigslist for cheap.

Nissan Leaf EVs slip through French village to make a quiet point
Thu, May 1 2014Bjork's 1995 freak-out hit It's Oh So Quiet may have reflected the singer's oddball Icelandic sensibilities, but Nissan is making the concept of relative silence a French thing. The Japanese automaker recently promoted its all-electric Leaf by staging a mini-rally through what it called "one of the quietest villages in Europe." And with the exception of a couple damaged trash bins and a destroyed rear-view mirror from an old-school archway, the race kept the drivers wide awake but everyone in the Southern French village in Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur sleeping. Nissan sent four vehicles on a five-kilometer jaunt through the village in the wee morning hours. Screeching tires and a couple booms notwithstanding, the company said everyone in town stayed snoozing. There was a broader purpose to this exercise, of course, which Nissan blatantly admits was a stunt. Nissan was helping celebrate 19th Annual International Noise Awareness Day (INAD), which took place on Wednesday and highlighted the emotional and health issues as well as high blood pressure and insomnia caused by excessive exposure to noise. Check out Nissan's press release below, where you'll also find the video. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. NISSAN LEAF CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL NOISE AWARENESS DAY WITH A NIGHTTIME "SILENT RIDE" ROLLE, Switzerland – To mark the 19th annual International Noise Awareness Day (INAD), Nissan has taken to the streets of one of Europe's quietest villages during the middle of the night with a silent "ride" of its 100 percent electric Nissan LEAF. The activity, complete with a start and finish line in Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur, was designed to demonstrate the noise reduction levels of the Zero Emissions car compared to traditional combustion engines. The World Health Organization (WHO) states at least 13.5 percent of Europeans are exposed to road traffic noise at levels exceeding 55 dB, which is considered detrimental to human health*. The medical effects of noise levels include insomnia (50dB), obesity (50dB), psychic disorders (60dB) and reduction in life expectancy (50dB)*. As a result, Nissan has filmed a 'silent ride' to help support INAD in raising awareness about noise pollution levels across Europe.
Nissan rowed the Note ashore [w/video]
Thu, 24 Oct 2013Normally we wouldn't suggest trying to float your car on water, but Nissan has made some modifications to turn its new Versa Note hatchback into a makeshift rowing shell.
Nissan replaced the car's rear seats with a sliding rear rowing seat, modified the doors to open wider at 90 degrees and fitted a pair of oars. Most importantly, they put the whole thing on a floating platform to keep it from sinking into Eton Dorney Lake, the site of the 2012 Olympic rowing competitions in England (where the car is simply known as the Nissan Note).
Then they invited medal-winning competitive rowers Helen Glover, Sophie Hosking and Polly Swann to come along and row the thing, making use of the around-view monitor system to see where they were going. All in all it may not be quite as cool as the boats which Fiat made out of the 500 or Mini made out of its convertible, but it's still enough to float our boat. Check it out in the video clip and press release below and the image gallery above.
Formula Drift kicks off 11th season on Streets of Long Beach
Tue, 08 Apr 2014The 2014 Formula Drift series kicked off last weekend in Long Beach, and saw Chris Forsberg, who you'll recall went mad and drifted around a warehouse in an Infiniti M, take the title behind the wheel of his Hankook Tire Nissan 370Z (shown above).
Forsberg really ran away with the first round of competition, outscoring his closest opponent, second-place finisher Kenneth Moen and his Bridges Racing Nissan 240SX, by 20 points. Third place was 2013 championship winner Michael Essa and his Yokohama BMW M3, 30.5 points behind Forsberg.
In the manufacturers' title, Nissan took an early lead with 122 points, which isn't a huge surprise considering five of the top ten drifters were piloting either a Z or a product of the brand's S platform. Ford, which had two drivers (Justin Pawlak and Vaughn Gittin, Jr.) in the top ten, took home second place, while BMW is currently third in the manufacturers' standings.
