I never saw me doing this....but....... First off, I like to comment that is has been a privilege to own this car. I have enjoyed its beauty, elegance and rarity every time it left my garage...My family status has changes since then and due to relocation to another country it's probably best to offer her to the next caretaker.....as I do not drive it practically at all... I DO OWN THIS CAR WITH A CLEAR TITLE!!!! With FULL DOCUMENTED MILES. Mitsubishi and ASC in California created 877 VR4 (twin turbo) Spyders. There are not that many left remaining today. This example is probably and most likely- the nicest and most perfect VR4 Spyder let alone 3000gt in existence....and most likely the Richest 3000gt Ever.....more money has been spent on this car than any Spyder I know. All....All records will come with this car and you will be baffled to see that over 140k has been spent and invested in this car. The factory books....window sticker...automotive literature....car magazines that covered the Spyder, the factory downpipe and the aftermarket down pipe......both with factory ports for the O2 sensor. This car to this day is one of the nicest road cars and driving cars I've had. EVERYTHING on this car has been Perfectly Maintained...all things were fixed that ever malfunctioned. The retractable hardtop has also received the software and hardware recall update back in 1997. This 3000gt needs absolutely Nothing..... Some of the Highlights of the car....but too many to mention. 35,000 in paintwork including the Veilside body kit conversion in 2000...including front turn signals and rear taillights by Renowned artist Hal Loo who owns Airworx in Phoenix Arizona Full EXPENSIVE....VEILSIDE Bodykit...modified to custom conform to cars body and allow retaining inner fender well liners. New Windshield with Clearplex protector New Tires with custom drilled 19"x8 Zenetti wheels Full Custom Red Interior with yellow piping. Zenon Headlights Full "DTS" 7.1 Theater Soundsystem with Navigation and in Dash Televisions....including televisions in the Headrests. Voice activation and XM Radio. CD changer included. Yes...Three Televisions. This is the only Full DTS Theater Sound Convertible I've ever seen.....it cost a small fortune. iPOD Cable Interface. Three Fosgate Amplifiers......and Solobaric 10" Kicker Subwoofer built into passenger floor board. REAR VIEW Camera Due to Sitting in storage for too long, seals dried up and car was smoking. I had entire engine rebuilt to factory settings by Master Technician. No Aftermarket items on Engine....includes Gen 3 lash Adjusters....No Ticking. During rebuild....everything was Nickel Plated and Chrome Dipped. During last Tune after Engine build.... Four Wheel Dyno tested....came to 420 hp. Stock Mass Airflow Sensor keeps car from achieving Full HP capability. That's acceptable to me...if you want to maximize the Horsepower and turn up the boost......that will be to your discretion. Right now...the car is bulletproof. New Getrag OEM Transmission New Transfer Case...during factory recall New Power Steering Rack...during factory recall Over 10,000 in Nickel plated Chrome in Engine Bay including the Valve Covers and the entire Throttle Body....what you see is NOT POLISHED.....its all CHROME Custom Chrome Plates to support the Optima Battery Custom Chrome Strut Tower Brace with Chrome Mitsubishi Emblem Full chrome engine component covers Polished Aluminium High Flow Radiator Firm Motor Mounts Fidanza Lightweight Flywheel Stage Two Clutch Supra Fuel Pump 550 CC Injectors Super AFC Fuel controller Greddy Profec B Boost Controller Greddy Turbo Timer AEM Wideband O2 UEGO Fuel Gauge for Tuning Greddy Turbo Boost Gauge...... I'm sure there is more that is escaping me now.... Car currently registered and stored in United Kingdom, London Let me assure you this car needs Nothing....The Car is Bone Dry...No Leaks.....I'm laughing here....but no....NO RUST.....No Accidents..... Also....the same Master Technician has worked on this car for 16 years while registered in U.S. and serviced by Eurospec 2000 in United Kingdom. Shipping is your responsibility......but I can recommend Reliable Carriers if you need advice.

Mitsubishi ready to pull Evo's plug

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

We have all manner of unofficial metrics in the auto industry. No doubt you've heard some of them, like the butt dyno. Another popular measure is the smiles-per-dollar index - how entertaining is a car versus its price. Cars like the Mazda MX-5 Miata, Scion FR-S and Mini Cooper S, for example, score quite highly, while vehicles like the BMW M5 or Audi RS7 are great to drive, but score lower because of their much higher price tags. For a long time, the king of the smiles-per-dollar index was arguably the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, which blended hair-raising thrills for the price of a well-equipped Ford Fusion Titanium.
Now, it looks like the Evo will need to hand over its title, as this generation of the rally-derived rocket is likely to be Mitsubishi's last - at least for a while. There's been no mention of just when production of the current car will end, so if you're in the market, we'd suggest trying to find a dealer with inventory ASAP. The news comes from the automaker's Japanese mothership, which says the brand will instead focus on utility vehicles and EVs. While there are no direct plans for a successor, an Evo XI as it were, the door remains open for a different kind of beast, according to Mitsubishi.
"Mitsubishi Motors does not have any plans to design a successor with the current concept, as a high-performance four-wheel drive gasoline-powered sedan," said Namie Koketsu, a spokesperson for Mitsubishi, according to Automotive News. "Mitsubishi Motors will explore the possibilities of high-performance models that incorporate electric vehicle technology."

Mitsubishi cheated on Japanese fuel economy test since 1991

Tue, Apr 26 2016

Mitsubishi now says that its cheating on Japanese fuel economy tests stretches as far back as 1991. The automaker has hired an independent panel of investigators to get to the bottom of what happened, and the company will give them three months to prepare a report about the deception. Mitsubishi's cheat involves how the company calculated driving resistance to determine fuel economy. In 1991, Japan's Road Transport Vehicle Act established a coasting test to establish the driving resistance, but Mitsubishi's engineers used their own "high-speed coasting test," according to its statement. In 2007, the company decided to only use the country's mandated evaluation, but the employees kept utilizing the high-speed test in the field. In the most recent scandal, workers selected low values for driving resistance from the results, which made the fuel economy look better. Mitsubishi's presented these details in a report to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism. "We are currently investigating the reasoning behind each of the decisions," the company said in a statement. It also hired three former prosecutors to figure out why this happened for so long. At this time, Mitsubishi only confirms the incorrect figures for some of the company's minicars, but this investigation could discover more transgressions. This fiasco started when Nissan discovered fuel economy discrepancies in some of its Mitsubishi-made tiny kei-class cars in Japan. Mitsubishi came clean and admitted the problem affected about 625,000 vehicles in the country. Japanese media have alleged more vehicles have incorrect mileage, including the Outlander. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the US has also requested data from the Japanese automaker to confirm similar deceptions didn't happen for vehicles here. Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
