1994 Mitsubishi Montero Sr Rust Free Four-wheel-drive Automatic on 2040-cars
Blacksburg, Virginia, United States
This is a 1994 Mitsubishi Montero. It is the SR version which has the larger 3.5 liter motor along with power Windows, power door locks a large sunroof that opens and closes electrically. It also has cruise control air, power steering, and is an automatic. Originally a friend of mine was going to buy it, but he couldn't keep his job so he didn't pay for it. He used it for a couple of months and had no problems with it. I had owned it for a couple years and the man I got it from lived in North Carolina and the reason he liked it, he used it for fishing, so it had a lot of room for his gear. It has been in the South and away from the coast, so it has no rust in the undercarriage or the body. It also came with seating for 7 but I removed the 2 backseats I was more interested in having a big wagon. I have them stored with all the hardware and can very easily reinstall them or give them to you. Either way would be fine with me. The motor was rebuilt about 30,000 miles ago. It also has had the timing belt replaced along with the timing belt tensioner water pump drive belts and seals. It has BFGoodrich tires the 2 on the rear are in excellent shape and the 2 on the front still have no trouble passing inspection, but are considerably more worn. It also has a good spare and full-size wheel. This vehicle was mighty big for a single owner and one dog. I usually averaged 16 to 17 miles the gallon running around in a rule area and one time going down to the coast on a level road with a 55 mile speed limit I got 19 miles to the gallon. The interior is in pretty good shape except for the side of the driver's seat is showing somewhere and has a whole in the side of the all the power attachments work and so when it's really hot outside. It doesn't try to bury you when you get in. I now have a smaller Montero, so I would like to find a new home for this vehicle. It is located in Virginia and is ready to go right now. I know all the four-wheel-drive works and I've also tried the locking rear differential. And it did block. The automatic transmission can be took out of overdrive you're going up and down steep little hills and it also has a switch that you can adjust the automatic transmission to a power mode. If you would like. This vehicle is also for sell locally. And I reserve the right to in the auction at any time Thanks for looking

Autoblog Minute: VW finds CO2 'irregularities', Takata dropped by automakers, SEMA recap
Fri, Nov 6 2015Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal gets a new wrinkle, US regulators hit Takata Corporation with a substantial fine, and we head to Las Vegas for a look at tuner paradise at the 2015 SEMA show. Autoblog senior editor Greg Migliore reports on this edition of Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal gets a new wrinkle. US regulators issue a significant fine to Takata Corporation. And we take a peek inside tuner paradise at the 2015 SEMA show. I'm senior editor Greg Migliore and this is your Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. The VW diesel emissions scandal, first brought to light in September, gets a new wrinkle, as an internal investigation by the German automaker revealed [00:00:30] irregularities in CO2 emissions that could affect approximately 800,000 vehicles. VW estimates the issue could pose a 2-billion euro economic risk. VW claims that most of the vehicles affected have diesel engines, but industry analysts say a 1.4-liter gas engine is also affected. VW says that fuel consumption figures were set too low during the CO2 certification process. During all of this, sales of some diesel-powered Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche models [00:01:00] have been halted. Takata Corporation is back in the news in connection with its deadly airbag scandal. Federal regulators fined Takata $70 million. If the parts supplier does not comply, the fine could balloon to $200 million. Takata was also dropped this week by its biggest customer, Honda. And now, Toyota and Mazda will be following Honda's lead in dropping Takata. We're also hearing that Mitsubishi and Subaru are considering a switch in air-bag inflator suppliers. SEMA 2015 [00:01:30] came and went. We saw offerings from Mopar, like the AWD Challenger concept. Honda unveiled a Ridgeline that it will race at the Baja 1000, which gives us a hint at what future production model could look like. The celebrity presence was also felt in Vegas as it always is. Kid Rock brought a Duramax Diesel Chevy Silverado, and Acura restored and presented Ludacris with his now famous 1993 Acura Legend. Those are the highlights from the week that was. Be sure to come back on Saturday for my full recap, [00:02:00] where I'll have some added insight into Hyundai's foray into the luxury sector. For Autoblog, I'm Greg Migliore. 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer to shrink
Wed, 24 Oct 2012The aging, oft-forgotten Mitsubishi Lancer won't get a replacement until sometime in 2014, but a new report states that the next-generation model could be a relatively drastic departure from the car you see here. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation President Osamu Masuko told Australian site The Motor Report that the new Lancer will be smaller than the current car, going in a different direction than the vast majority of other automakers.
"The new Lancer will be a very new car, and will be sized somewhere between the current model and its predecessor," Masuko-san told The Motor Report.
There are both pros and cons to this decision. On the plus side, a smaller car means the Lancer will likely have a weight advantage over other vehicles in its class. That said, Mitsubishi will need to find ways to maximize interior space and create efficient packaging in order to still have its compact sedan remain competitive with strong offerings like the Hyundai Elantra, Chevrolet Cruze, Ford Focus and so on.
FCA compromises with France, moving Renault merger bid forward
Tue, Jun 4 2019FRANKFURT/PARIS – Renault directors were preparing to review Fiat Chrysler's $35 billion merger offer on Tuesday, after the Italian-American carmaker resolved differences with the French government overnight, three sources said. The compromise on French government influence over a combined FCA-Renault may clear the way for Renault's board to approve a framework agreement beginning the long process of a full merger, unless new issues surface at the meeting. France, Renault's biggest shareholder with a 15% stake, had been pressing for its own guaranteed seat on the new board and an effective veto on CEO appointments. But after late-night talks with FCA Chairman John Elkann, the French government has accepted a compromise that would see it occupy one of four board seats allocated to Renault, balanced by four FCA appointees, the sources said. Renault would also cede one of its two seats on a four-member CEO nominations committee to the French state, they said. Renault, FCA and the French government all declined to comment on the discussions. The same evening that the compromise was was negotiated, activist hedge fund CIAM wrote to the board of Renault to say it "strongly opposed" a planned $35 billion merger with Fiat Chrysler. Calling the deal "opportunistic," the fund said the current deal terms strongly favored Fiat Chrysler and offered no control premium.
