Very Unique car. Only one of 10 Graphite Grey Ralliart with Recaro packages. FAST Key system means the remote stays in your pocket and the car automatically turns on the interior lights and unlocks as you touch the door handle, sit down and twist the starting knob and she springs to life. Dealer installed Factory remote starting system, warm up the engine from in the house and allow the turbo to reach operating temperature so when your ready to drive so is the car. This car has always had warm up and cool down time before and after driving. It has been cared for with regular Mobile1 oil changes and all services are up to date. Factory Tires have been replaced with excellent Hankook Ventus V2 directionals and are only about 6 months old, just rotated and balanced last week.

I love this car, it's fun to drive, handles like a dream and has been perfectly reliable and dependable since day one. The 4cylinder Turbo charged intercooled engine has been upgraded with a Turbo XS 3" mandrel bent downpipe and mid pipe with extra O2 sensor bung, a boost pill, light weight AMS mini battery kit, K&N factory air filter. ECU has been tuned to support the mods. Car is putting out about 20-25 more horse power than stock. I took it to the 1/4 drag strip and I achieved a 13.08 second pass. This was with a full interior and the spair tire in the trunk!

Non-smoker, regularly detailed and waxed. No rips, tears, scuffs, scratches. There is one EXTREMELY minor almost impossible to see ding on one fender and a slight rubbing on the driver's left side seat on the bolster.

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is fourth plug-in to reach 100,000 sales

Tue, May 3 2016

After what seems like a lifetime of delays, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV will finally arrive in this US in " late summer, early fall." What's taken so long? Well, Mitsubishi had to sell 100,000 of the big plug-in hybrids in Europe and Japan first, apparently. You could see the milestone coming, since sales have been strong in the markets where the Outlander PHEV was available, with around two-thirds of its sales coming from Europe, Hybrid Cars says. When we spoke with Don Swearingen, executive vice president of Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) earlier this year, he said that sales of around 200-400 Outlander PHEVS a month (10-20 percent of the Outlander's total US monthly sales) would be, " a very good number." Inside EVs says that the Okazaki Plant where the Outlander PHEV is made, " is running at full swing." As Hybrid Cars points out, the Outlander PHEV is only the fourth plug-in car ever to sell 100,000 units. The others are the Nissan Leaf (roughly 218,000 sales worldwide), the Tesla Model S (120,000), and the Chevy Volt (110,000). The next likely candidate to cross this threshold is the Prius Plug In – it has around 75,000 sales – if we count the upcoming Prius Prime updates as the same vehicle. Related Video:

Mitsubishi hopes you'll trade driving data for a cheaper oil change

Sat, Jul 7 2018

Companies and cities love it when you supply driving data, but how do they convince you to hand it over? In Mitsubishi's case, it's simple: shower people with gifts. The automaker has launched a mobile app that asks American commuters to share data on their driving habits with insurance companies in return for badges they can exchange for rewards. Mind your road manners (such as staying within the speed limit or avoiding sudden braking) and you can get discounts on oil changes and car accessories. You should also receive free coffee and gift cards by the end of 2018. Insurers and local governments have tried similar strategies, but this is the first of its kind directly from a car company. Mitsubishi's Bryan Arnett described this to the Wall Street Journal as a way to "stabilize the business" with alternate sources of income if car sales slip. The catch, as you may have guessed, is that insurers will have your data. The Mitsubishi project will help insurers understand driving patterns and adjust their risk profiles, potentially lowering your rates if you drive safely. However, you're potentially subjecting yourself to scrutiny for every little decision you make on the road, often without context. If you push past the speed limit to get out of a big rig's blind spot, will Mitsubishi know the difference between that and genuinely reckless driving? Probably not. Simultaneously, there's a concern that insurance companies may try to make this kind of data collection mandatory if you want to avoid stiff premiums, rather than a bonus. If they did, you wouldn't have much choice but to sacrifice privacy if you wanted to drive. The move draws attention to the practices of the car makers themselves, for that matter. Many of them are aware that car ownership might not last forever, and they may increasingly turn to data harvesting strategies like this to offset any potential sales drops. This story originally appeared on Engadget, your guide to this connected life.Related Video:

Camaro Z/28 and Mitsubishi Starion meet in this nostalgic vision of '87 Japan

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

The '80s is just far enough away now that it no longer seems like an era defined by Reagonomics and neon clothing. Filmmaker Matt Clark has embraced the look of the music videos of the decade in his new short film titled Orange Orchid, set in 1987 in Chiba and Yokohama, Japan. The video features some great sports coupes of the time and is set to the song I Know There's Something Going On from Abba-alum Frida (along with drumming and backup vocals from Phil Collins).
Clark really embraces the pop-culture look of the era's videos with big hair, a healthy dash of neon, inexplicable smoky rooms and big, over-wrought movements. However, the real stars for us are the pair of '80s sports coupes that also kind of personify the main characters. Nijo in her denim jacket has a modded Camaro Z/28 with huge, dished wheels sticking way out past the fenders. Naturally, the Chevy also features some great butterscotch paint and a car phone inside. Alex, the guy pursuing her, forgoes any obvious upgrades in favor a clean, all-white Mitsubishi Starion to go along with his tailored suit and giant cell phone.
We wish this video featured the cars a bit more prominently, but that drumbeat from Collins on this forgotten 80s gem is pretty fantastic, too. Give it a listen in the video.
