Up for auction is a 1999 Mitsubishi Mirage that was recently donated to a national charitable foundation and is being sold with NO RESERVE. The vehicle is equipped with a 4cyl engine and automatic transmission. The odometer shows 186,281 miles. It’s fairly well equipped with most of the options. The seats are gray and appear to be in decent condition, although a good detail will make a huge difference. The exterior of the car is green and is showing signs of wear and is faded. It has a few door dings and scratches. The tires appear to HAVE ROUGHLY 20% road life left. Please refer to the photos included in this auction for more description details. Mitsubishi ready to pull Evo's plug
Mon, 31 Mar 2014We have all manner of unofficial metrics in the auto industry. No doubt you've heard some of them, like the butt dyno. Another popular measure is the smiles-per-dollar index - how entertaining is a car versus its price. Cars like the Mazda MX-5 Miata, Scion FR-S and Mini Cooper S, for example, score quite highly, while vehicles like the BMW M5 or Audi RS7 are great to drive, but score lower because of their much higher price tags. For a long time, the king of the smiles-per-dollar index was arguably the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, which blended hair-raising thrills for the price of a well-equipped Ford Fusion Titanium.
Now, it looks like the Evo will need to hand over its title, as this generation of the rally-derived rocket is likely to be Mitsubishi's last - at least for a while. There's been no mention of just when production of the current car will end, so if you're in the market, we'd suggest trying to find a dealer with inventory ASAP. The news comes from the automaker's Japanese mothership, which says the brand will instead focus on utility vehicles and EVs. While there are no direct plans for a successor, an Evo XI as it were, the door remains open for a different kind of beast, according to Mitsubishi.
"Mitsubishi Motors does not have any plans to design a successor with the current concept, as a high-performance four-wheel drive gasoline-powered sedan," said Namie Koketsu, a spokesperson for Mitsubishi, according to Automotive News. "Mitsubishi Motors will explore the possibilities of high-performance models that incorporate electric vehicle technology."
Mitsubishi teases an electric SUV concept car for 2019 Geneva Motor Show
Tue, Jan 29 2019News from Mitsubishi comes pretty slow these days, but it looks like something new is arriving at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. Today, the Japanese automaker revealed a teaser for a vehicle called the Engelberg Tourer, set to debut in early March this year. Details are vague, but we'll break down what we know. Mitsubishi says it's bringing "more SUV, more EV, more technology and more style." We'll be the judge of that last one — the Eclipse Cross is evidence enough for apprehension about Mitsubishi "style." What we appear to be looking at is an electric crossover concept, similar to Mitsubishi's other recent crossover EV concept. This one looks a bit different from the front, though. Then there's the name: Engelberg Tourer. Admittedly, it's a peculiar name for a concept car, but Mitsubishi says it's named after a rugged Alpine town in Switzerland with a history of sporting success. A quick internet search doesn't turn up much in the way of automotive history there, but it does appear to have some rally and off-roading heritage. Based on the rugged look of the front-end, we imagine this SUV is designed for fun once you've left the pavement. The slick blue lighting up front hints at the concept's electric powertrain. In the teaser, the light bars up top look sleek and minimal compared to massive units we see on some off-roading machines. It appears as though Mitsu is planning to show off camera side mirror tech in this concept, too. Tue, Oct 31 2017In the future, cars will drive us. And probably not surprisingly, they'll often know where to go without us even needing to tell them. That's the theme of a short back-and-forth conversation on Twitter recently between Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk and a user who tagged him in a comment suggesting that "it would be cool" to be able to tell a car where to go. Responding to user James Harvey, Musk replied, "It won't even need to ask you most of the time." Later, after Harvey asked how the car would know where he wants to go, another user suggested that the car would know what time you go to work. "Yeah, don't exactly need to be Sherlock Holmes," Musk tweeted. After all, the smartphones we carry around already possess the ability to predict what we want — think Google's cleverness in tailoring search results or providing traffic information just before your commute, Facebook's highly customized News Feed content or even auto-fill technology, which can predict the words you're typing. And plenty of automakers have been touting their own work in developing in-car artificial intelligence systems. Like Audi's Elaine concept, which will be able to learn, think and even empathize with drivers. Or Mitsubishi's e-Evolution concept, which can not only assist your driving, but also assess your skills and teach you how to improve them. Tesla's vehicles, of course, are being outfitted with all the latest autonomous driver-assist technology, with the automaker eager to one day reach full Level 5 self-driving capability. According to Inc., Teslas will be able to listen and respond to directional commands, and they'll even have access to your calendar to comb for information about where you need to go. Tesla has also said it's developing an update to its Autopilot hardware and remains on track to achieve full Level 5 autonomous driving by the end of this year, which strikes a lot of people as wildly unrealistic. At any rate, the promise of cars knowing what time we're sneaking out to get donuts or picking up the kids is interesting, coming from the man who has warned that AI presents "a fundamental risk to the existence of human civilization."Related Video:
