1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse Gst Spyder 2.0 Turbo 5 Speed on 2040-cars
Toms Brook, Virginia, United States
Up for sale is a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST Spyder 2.0 Turbo 5 speed manual. The vehicle itself has 158,000 miles on it but I've had it completly rebuilt for about 3,000 miles on complete engine, transmision and suspension. This car is a blast to drive and I have had it completly rebuilt it. It has a rebuilt 4g63 2.0 turbo 7bolt with the balence shaft elimantor, so no more stupid crankwalk. ARP Headstuds, and Cometic headgasket. The mods are mild on this car dyno tuned at 23psi 300 horsepower to the front wheels on a mustang dyno, it has the fresh engine along with Brian Crower 272 camshafts and adjustable cam gears. PTE 550cc injectors, with 255 Walboro Fuel pump. The turbo is a MHI 16g Evo lll real 16g. Almost all the parts used to build this car were purchased from Hal from Extremepsi.com they really helped me out every step of the way great company for DSM's. The transmsion also rebuilt and has a Stage 1 competion clutch matching flywheel, and forged shift fork, Megan racing short shifter, really smooth shifting. The list of mods is very long so any questions please ask and I 'l answer ASAP. The convertable top is in great shape no leaks. The interior is overall nice and clean leather never smoked in. The wheels and tires are almost brandnew they have about 2k miles in them. New brakes, New Struts Tokico with Tein 1 inch lowering springs I have a folder I've created over the years to show you exactly all the mods I've made and maintence, only use Mobile 1 Synthetic oil. I have all the AEM gauges for data logging and the car can be tuned again if you wish with the Tactix 2.0 cable that will be provided thats how this car was tuned at the dyno by ECU Flash. And this car does not have a working AC i disconected it for more power, and it doesnt work. The only negitive thing on this car is the darn Check Engine Light its always on do to my tune but it does not effect the driveability at all. The car drives strong, shifts tight, and believe it or not the suspension is a dream nice and smooth. This car will be sold as is where is with no warranty, any questions please dont hesitate to ask and test drives are welcome if you are serious with cash in hand I have nothing to hide its been a fun car I've dumped well over 20 grand into it and now I'm done, I've been buying and selling things on ebay for many years now but this is my personal love this car is mine so I wouldn't sell you junk please rest assure when you make this purchase you will be very content, I reserve to end the auction early do to I have it listed for sell privately as well. Now the winner of the auction will have to make a $500.00 deposit through paypal within 24hrs. of auction end, the rest paid in full cash in person within 7 days. Here are a few of our automotive guilty pleasures
Tue, Jun 23 2020It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. The world is full of cars, and just about as many of them are bad as are good. It's pretty easy to pick which fall into each category after giving them a thorough walkaround and, more important, driving them. But every once in a while, an automobile straddles the line somehow between good and bad — it may be hideously overpriced and therefore a marketplace failure, it may be stupid quick in a straight line but handles like a drunken noodle, or it may have an interior that looks like it was made of a mess of injection-molded Legos. Heck, maybe all three. Yet there's something special about some bad cars that actually makes them likable. The idea for this list came to me while I was browsing classified ads for cars within a few hundred miles of my house. I ran across a few oddballs and shared them with the rest of the team in our online chat room. It turns out several of us have a few automotive guilty pleasures that we're willing to admit to. We'll call a few of 'em out here. Feel free to share some of your own in the comments below. Dodge Neon SRT4 and Caliber SRT4: The Neon was a passably good and plucky little city car when it debuted for the 1995 model year. The Caliber, which replaced the aging Neon and sought to replace its friendly marketing campaign with something more sinister, was panned from the very outset for its cheap interior furnishings, but at least offered some decent utility with its hatchback shape. What the two little front-wheel-drive Dodge models have in common are their rip-roarin' SRT variants, each powered by turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Known for their propensity to light up their front tires under hard acceleration, the duo were legitimately quick and fun to drive with a fantastic turbo whoosh that called to mind the early days of turbo technology. — Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski Chevrolet HHR SS: Chevy's HHR SS came out early in my automotive journalism career, and I have fond memories of the press launch (and having dinner with Bob Lutz) that included plenty of tire-smoking hard launches and demonstrations of the manual transmission's no-lift shift feature. The 260-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder was and still is a spunky little engine that makes the retro-inspired HHR a fun little hot rod that works quite well as a fun little daily driver.
F1 champ Nigel Mansell is selling Mitsubishis in Jersey
Sat, Jan 3 2015Formula One drivers have a pretty short shelf life, so when they're done racing in grands prix, retired pilots can have a whole second career ahead of them. Jody Scheckter, for example, runs an organic farm. Niki Lauda started an airline. Most move on to other racing series, provide television commentary during race broadcasts, or start their own racing teams. But not Nigel Mansell: he's got a Mitsubishi dealership. Situated on Jersey – not New Jersey, but the British channel island – Mansell Mitsubishi is run by Nigel and his son Leo. It grew out of the service station the Mansells opened fourteen years ago, and out of the Mansell Collection, a used car dealership based in an old Art Deco movie theater, but recently expanded into selling new cars recently with the acquisition of a franchise. The Japanese brand may seem a bit of an odd choice, especially now that it's getting away from performance models and putting more emphasis on plug-in electrics. After all, Nigel won his 1992 Formula One World Championship in a Renault-powered Williams, before that raced for the likes of Ferrari and Lotus, and won the CART title on his debut season in a Lola-Ford. But the Mansells are adamant that they wanted a volume brand, not to deal with the high-priced exotics with which the name might be more readily associated. After all, there are only 100,000 or so people residing on the isle of Jersey, which wouldn't make for a very big customer base for high-end machinery. He and Leo (with whom he raced at Le Mans a few years back) even participated in a two-day training session for new franchisees, where few initially recognized the former champ. And they've got plans to expand as well. But the biggest draw may very well be the star factor, and the Mansells haven't shied away from playing it up, displaying memorabilia from Nigel's racing career around the showroom. After all, the prospect of being taken on a test drive by a former F1 champion may be enough to bring new customers into the showroom who might not have otherwise.
Nissan and Renault shelve merger plans, will repair their alliance
Tue, May 26 2020Renault and Nissan have shelved plans to push towards the full merger former leader Carlos Ghosn craved and will instead fix their troubled alliance to try to recover from the coronavirus pandemic, five senior sources told Reuters. Nissan has long resisted Renault's proposals for a full-blown merger as executives felt the French carmaker was not paying its fair share for the engineering work it did in Japan, sowing discord that some feared could wreck the partnership. Now, with carmakers around the world reeling from the pandemic, the partners are planning to overhaul an alliance that largely failed to convert its global scale into a competitive advantage beyond the joint procurement of parts. Both struggling carmakers are set to announce mid-term restructuring plans this week that will serve as a peace treaty designed to resolve the long-standing tensions, five people familiar with the overhaul told Reuters. "After the rain, the earth hardens," said one senior Nissan source, citing a popular Japanese proverb that means relationships become stronger after a period of strife. All five sources within the alliance, which also includes Mitsubishi, declined to be named because they are not authorized to speak with media. Nissan and Renault are each planning substantial restructuring and cost cuts that could affect tens of thousands of jobs, with the Japanese company to announce its measures on May 28 and its French partner likely to follow the next day. Before that, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Renault are holding a joint news conference on May 27 during which they are expected to outline the philosophy behind their new "leader-follower" approach to the alliance. The sources said the companies were unlikely to disclose many details at the events this week of how the new approach will be used to share costs as the companies were still working on specific projects. However, the crisis at both carmakers has accelerated efforts to resolve the disagreements that have stymied collaboration and cost-sharing in technology and product development for five years, the sources said. Mitsubishi, Nissan and Renault all declined to comment officially about alliance plans. 'Leader-follower' The alliance has steadily ramped up output over the years, delivering over 10 million vehicles for the first time in 2017, the first full year after Mitsubishi joined the partnership.
