This car has been well-cared.  I have owned it for the last 10 years.  It has had regular oil changes and was recently professionally detailed.

However, because the car is 16 years old, there are some blemishes:

Missing the covers to the mirror adjustors.  They work great, just missing the cosmetic covers.

There is a small rust bubble above the left rear wheel.  It is still covered by paint, but bubbles out a bit.

Small crack on rear bumper.  Has been there since I owned it.  Previous owner backed it into something.  Has no affect on the car at all.

Drivers side door lock does not work externally and the door has a hitch.  The door DOES lock and can be opened from the outside with the handle, but when manually unlocking the door, the key does not work on the driver's side.  It works perfect from the passenger side though.  Mechanic said it is lock issue and can be fixed.  I just haven't done it yet.

There are a lot of really good things about the car as well .

It gets 30-35 mpg and has BRAND NEW front tires and hardly used rear tires.   Grey cloth interior with really nice black dash interior in excellent condition.

After factory Alpine speakers and cd player all wired for XM or Sirius Satellite Radio....premium sound quality with a rear spoiler and moon roof.

No shipping will be arranged by the seller, and winning bidder is responsible for coming and taking possession of the vehicle in person.  Everything works great, and ready for you to drive home in!

Lastly, we have a carfax for this car.

VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA--I will not ship.  If you want the car shipped, you will have to arrange that yourself.

Buyer pays with PayPal or by cash in person.  Buyer needs to contact this seller with notification right after end of auction, as to exactly when buyer has intention to make payments as required per this auction.  Due to the high volume of non-paying buyers with a (positive) feedback score below 10, buyers with a feedback score of 10 or less MUST contact me prior to placing a bid, or the bid will be canceled.  If you don’t plan on paying for this, then please do not bid on this vehicle.

If you would need to fly in to pick the car up, I will be very happy to pick you up at any Washington, D.C. airports, so that you could drive the vehicle back home, no extra charge!

Also, please contact me via Ebay if you are in the local area and would like to arrange a test drive.

This car has been great to me, and I would like to see it go to someone who will have as much fun with it as I did.

Mitsubishi boss says US operations may break even next year

Sat, 23 Nov 2013

Mitsubishi has lost money in its North America operations every year since 2007, but in an interview at this week's Tokyo Motor Show, company president Osamu Masuko said, "If things keep going well, it might be the case that we break even this year," Automotive News reports.
A little context: Last month Mitsubishi predicted that it would lower its operating loss in the region to 4-billion yen ($40.7 million) by March 31, the end of the fiscal year, well below the previous fiscal year's operating loss of more than five times that amount. Reflecting that, production at the Japanese automaker's sole North American factory in Normal, Illinois, has grown to 56,630 vehicles through October, compared to 27,339 through the same period last year.
The plant makes the Outlander Sport for the US and for export to markets such as Russia, the Middle East and Latin America. Interestingly, out of the 56,630 Outlander Sports built at the Illinois plant through October, only 20,150 were sold in the US.

Japan plans real-world diesel emissions test after companies fail

Fri, Mar 4 2016

Japan's transport ministry plans to start real-world diesel emissions tests after an experiment found four models from Toyota, Nissan, and Mitsubishi that produced more nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions than the nation's rules allow, according to The Japan Times. Regulators there usually only perform emissions checks in the lab. The VW diesel scandal has everyone double-checking their figures. Diesel versions of the Toyota Hiace van, Land Cruiser Prado, and Nissan X-Trail produced up to 10 times more NOx than allowed. The Mitsubishi Delica D:5 was up to five times over the limit, The Wall Street Journal reports. There was no evidence of defeat devices in the vehicles. Mazda performed well in the experiment, though. The CX-5 passed with nearly the same results on the road and in the lab. The Demio, better known as the Mazda2, did nearly as well with only slighter higher figures in the real world than in the controlled setting. The experimenters theorized the reason for the excessive emissions was that cold weather caused the engines' software to shut off the exhaust gas recirculation to prevent damage, according to the WSJ. However, this behavior also increased NOx production. Toyota, Nissan, and Mitsubishi don't have to worry about punishment from the transport ministry because this check was just an experiment. Their models already passed the mandated lab tests, which was the only requirement, according to The Japan Times. As governments begin greater real-world emissions tests, the results suggests diesels aren't very clean. A recent check in France found models from Ford, Renault, and Mercedes-Benz that didn't perform up to the standards. Regulators in India conducted similar evaluations and ordered VW to recall over 300,000 vehicles. Related Video:
