The condition of the exterior, interior and engine can vary depending on the vehicle's history. See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"-Condition is very good for a 14 year old car- There are a couple very small dings from previous owner and some very minor scratches. Also a couple touch up spots to the paint. the rear wing has some touch up paint and the front bumper has some at the base of the skirt. Needs a new antenna and 2 new front speakers for the interior."

Here is a absolutely clean low mileage 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX in red w/ tan leather. The car has 28k original miles and is a 2 owner car. In total I have only put approx. 30 miles on the car. It has been stored in a garage and driven twice a week around the block.

This Eclipse has been adult owned its entire life and therefore has no modifications whatsoever. It is doubtful that another original 28K 1998 Eclipse GSX will pop up for sale, especially being adult owned and in such solid condition.

This car has just about every possible option you can find in an Eclipse and drives absolutely well. The paint is all original and shines well.

The exterior has a couple very minor dings (one on the front), a couple small dents, and has the slightest bit of touchup work to the rear wing and bottom of the front bumpers skirt. We are happy to take any additional photos of any part of this vehicle. Also, the antenna is not functioning properly(electric motor is good though)
The interior looks absolutely clean with minimal wear to the leather seats. The carpets looks very clean and the original Mitsubishi drivers side mat looks clean. The back seats look like they have never been sat in and the hatch looks pretty clean with minimal wear.

The engine looks and feels very good along with the transmission feel. The 5 speed manual gear box feels smooth and shifts clean. The previous owner had recent receipts for clutch work and those receipts will be included. Also any receipts for tire work and oil changes will be included.
This car came with aftermarket wheels and tires. The tires have roughly 90-95% of life remaining, they are practically new.

Lastly... There are not many well preserved examples left of the Eclipse GSX. It was a car that was built for North America and truly has strong roots. The 2.0 DOHC engine and the AWD/transmission are a preview to the Lancer Evolution that didnt arrive until 2003.
This is a car that I wouldnt mind having around to preserve the low miles. You wont find an Evolution or GSX with under 50K and they certainly arent getting any younger.

This auction is only the United States and will have no reserve. Please contact me prior to bidding if you have less than a (10) feedback score and only bid if you intend to purchase.

Mitsubishi readying Outlander refresh

Sat, 02 Aug 2014

Mitsubishi has a big secret to keep under wraps when it comes to the looks of its refreshed Outlander crossover. Our spy shooters recently caught it testing in Germany, and the CUV had enough buckles, straps and snaps covering up the front end for the vehicle to fit in at an S&M party for cars. The rear was hidden just as thoroughly, too.
Given the areas that Mitsubishi's engineers are obscuring, it seems safe to assume that the Outlander is getting a heavily revised front end with redesigns for the grille, front bumper and possibly hood. The lights might be reshaped too, judging from these photos. The changes are just as hard to spot at the rear, but you can make out the shape of the taillights. They appear more rectangular than the current model, and the bumper looks more angular, as well.
This is likely our first glimpse of the of the major restyle for the Outlander that Mitsubishi execs told Autoblog about in July. The interior is also getting an update to improve interior material quality, we were told. The revisions are supposed to coincide with the launch of the PHEV model in the US at roughly the same time.

Mitsubishi says it will make money from EVs

Fri, Mar 13 2015

The Mitsubishi i-MiEV is the lowest-cost plug-in vehicle available in the US. The spartan EV's small price tag shouldn't lead you to believe the company doesn't see dollar signs where there's a plug. Mitsubishi says that electric vehicles are one of the three profitable segments that have helped the company get back into the black. The other two are light trucks and crossovers. We suspect that the resounding success of the Outlander PHEV played a bigger role in this than the i-MiEV, but you never know. Mitsubishi Motors Corp president Tetsuro Aikawa told Automotive News that the company will keeps its focus on those three segments and ease back on sedans and performance cars. To that end, the Outlander Plug-In Hybrid will come to the US next April, many years after it went on sale in Japan and Europe. The vehicle will fit well with Mitsubishi's plans to shift its strategy to SUVs and CUVs here. Related Video:

Mitsubishi developing new standalone hybrid Evo successor

Mon, 16 Dec 2013

Mention the name Mitsubishi to different people and you'll likely get two startling different images. Environmentalists will focus on the company's strides in developing EVs, while performance enthusiasts will point you toward the Lancer Evolution. The prevailing wisdom was that Mitsubishi would cancel the latter to concentrate on the former, but the latest intel suggests that the two will be reconciled with a new Evo around the corner.
Although Mitsubishi is reportedly working to streamline its lineup from 23 models on 12 different platforms to 13 models on 7 by 2016, the next Evo will stand as an exception. Like Subaru did with the formerly Impreza-based WRX (or for that matter Nissan with the formerly Skyline-based GT-R), the new Evo won't have anything to do with the next Lancer, which itself will be based on a Renault-Nissan platform.
On that unique platform, Mitsubishi is likely to install a small direct-injection turbo engine (potentially a diesel) that could be based on the 1.1-liter, three-cylinder turbo engine in the XR-PHEV concept we saw in Tokyo, supplemented by small electric motors with lightweight batteries and driving all four wheels through an enhanced version of the company's Super All-Wheel Control system. As to whether the Evo name will carry over, that remains to be seen, but if these reports prove accurate, its spirit could very much live on.
