2013 Mitsubishi Evolution X New Engine, Only 5500 Miles Replaced Under Warranty! on 2040-cars
Los Angeles, California, United States
Up for sale is my 2013 Mitsubishi Evolution GSR. I have always wanted to own either an STi or an Evo X. I live near Angeles crest highway and would frequently hit the canyons with the vehicle and it is an amazing car to drive. The motor seized @ 5500 miles after a 30 mile drive from orange county. Cause of the failure was never determined and the motor was replaced under warranty no questions asked. I have the receipt from 2 days ago showing all the work that was done under warranty by Mitsubishi. The service manager took great care of me and once it was decided that it was under warranty, work began and was completely quickly. I was provided a Rental car from Enterprise during this time I am an older Evo owner (34) so I had no interest in modifying the drivetrain. I already have a track car that makes 590ft./lbs and 540whp. I just wanted a sporty daily driver to zip around town in. That's the best part about the Evo X is that it comes from the factory a well tuned machine. It is my daily driver, but I have found myself in a position where I would rather switch to a smaller SUV of some kind. My import days are over but were FUN! This car has never seen a drag strip (why race an AWD road racing car on a drag strip!?) It has also never seen a single track day or driving event. Strictly daily driving. The Engine Swap was completed 2 days ago under warranty by Mitsubishi technicians @ Mitsubishi on November 10th and I am currently breaking the motor in. At 1000 miles I will swap out the motor oil with Mobile 1 Synthetic. You are buying a chassis with 5500 miles, with a brand new warrantied motor. Only flaws are under the car, scrapes are on the front aero splitter from scraping driveways here and there. Only modifications are cosmetic, springs and wheels.;Here is a list of of the mods:: 1. Authentic Work Emotion CR Kiwami 18x8.5 wheels with the OEM Yokohama tires. Wheels will be polished before sale and car will be detailed .I still have the stock BBS wheels, which were run only 7 days!)
2. Swift Sport springs (about a 1" drop to remove the gap with the new wheels) Rides equal to stock springs. I was very happy with these.
3. 30% Llumar Smoke Tint on side and back window by Megaplex in Glendale.
4. Flat black 3m Vinyl wrap on roof by Megaplex in Glendale that gives the car that Glass roof look.
5.Escort ZR4 Laser Shifter stealth installed by Devin Oliver at Audio Advice in La Crescenta. Install is very stealth. Radar detector can be integrated with laser shifter's by plugging in (hard wired) just to the left of the rear view mirror. 2 Laser Sensors up front and 1 in Back on top of the license plate frame. This Laser Shifter is a LIFESAVER especially on holiday weekeneds I get lasered 3-4 times!
6. Perrin Performance Anodized Grey Shift Knob with adjustable height. 7.All decals from Perrin and work kept in a folder with all receipts and paperwork and OEM parts. 8. Most bulbs switched to LEDS. Daytime running lights, blinkers, blinker flash correction, Trunk Lighting, License Plate from PasswordJDM. Internal lights are incredibly bright, you can actually read a book... Car looks amazing with the Daytime running lights on. 9, Front Badge Plastidipped to black out the entire front grill, 10. Rear Badging removed, only "Evolution" remains No sign of the former emblems to be seen..Removed Badges included along with OEM shifter. Car is for sale both locally and elsewhere, seller reserves right to cancel auction at any time. Onto the pictures:

Mitsubishi previews diesel hybrid pickup concept, next-gen EV for Geneva
Wed, 13 Feb 2013Mitsubishi has a long history of tidy little pickup trucks, and the Japanese automaker is apparently looking to extend that heritage in a bolder, bigger way with the Concept GR-HEV, a "sport utility hybrid truck."
The future-think show star, slated to be unveiled at next month's Geneva Motor Show, is actually tipped to be a much larger effort - Mitsubishi says it's applying its hybrid technology to a one-ton truck for the first time. The GR-HEV is powered by a complex powertrain composed of a diesel engine and electric motors, which the company believes is better suited to the sort of heavy-duty work required in the segment. The concept also employs full-time four-wheel drive and a development of Mitsubishi's Super All-Wheel Control system (which governs things like stability and brake force control along with an active center differential) as seen on the production Lancer Evolution.
In related news, Mitsubishi has also confirmed that it will show a next-generation electric showcar at Geneva dubbed Concept CA-MiEV. With this new concept (inset photo), the company says it is looking to build on the learnings of its i citycar and take EVs out of their limited urban roles. To that end, the CA-MiEV boasts "next generation EV systems and high density batteries" that give it a range of 186 miles.
Should you buy an EV?
Mon, Aug 17 2015Gas prices are hitting the skids and EVs are following suit; nearly every model in today's market has experienced a double-digit decline in sales – with the always notable exception of the Tesla Model S. Some EVs are in the last year of their generation while others have been half-heartedly designed and engineered to fulfill federal government quotas. The two non-Tesla front runners, the Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf, are in the unfortunate position of offering customers "2015" vehicles that were designed with 2011 in mind. Yet there's plenty of love in the air. Nissan has built over 180,000 Leafs worldwide, and chances are you will be seeing a second electric vehicle accompanying the Leaf when the new generation is released in the coming months. The Chevy Volt now offers the highest customer satisfaction out of any car or truck sold in North America. Forget the luxury cars, the sports cars, the family trucksters, and even the rolling flagship that guides Tesla's jaw dropping valuation on Wall Street. You want happy with your EV? The brand that's rocking the segment right now is Chevy. It's been doing so for a while. The EV market is poised to become a lot more sophisticated over the next 18 months with the three leading manufacturers – Tesla, General Motors, and Nissan – launching five brand new models along with no fewer than 16 other manufacturers making many of their bread and butter cars available as plug-in hybrids. So, if you want to keep your money as far away from the Arab dictatorships and Russian mafia as Mercury is from Pluto, and enjoy your commute, we're more than ready to do our part! So let's begin with the most important question. What's Your Range? How much driving do you generally do in a day? If the answer to that question is 50 miles or fewer, an all-electric vehicle like the Nissan Leaf may be the best ingredient for your driving recipe. This is especially true if you have a second vehicle you can use for the occasional longer drive or are willing to rent for the weekend. But here's a little surprise for you. The upcoming Chevy Volt was designed to be driven in all-electric mode for over 50 miles. Fifty-three, to be exact. Plus, the Volt's battery has experienced a lot fewer deterioration issues than the Nissan Leaf's due in part to the Volt's liquid-cooled battery, which also uses a lot less of its capacity than the air-cooled Leaf's does.
Mitsubishi wants to bring a plug-in hybrid Montero to the US
Fri, 27 Dec 2013As Mitsubishi's turnaround takes hold, we can talk less about the company's survival in the US market and more about what kinds of products we might see in the future: there's a hybrid Evo on the way and its joint venture with Renault-Nissan will deliver a C-segment sedan. Furthermore, it might even deliver a dividend to its shareholders next year.
In addition to Mitsubishi announcing its intent to focus on SUVs, pickup trucks and crossovers, company president Osamu Masuko gave an interview to Automotive News saying that the plan is for model lines to have two or three power train options: gas, plug-in hybrid, diesel. Believing that fuel economy standards will force the expansion of the plug-in hybrid market, Masuko wants to bring a PHEV Pajero to the US (the Montero in our market) because it will restore the brand's place in the full-size SUV segment with a well known nameplate, and help the company reach its goal of making PHEVs 20 percent of its product offering.
We love the idea of a new Montero - and we hope there's a traditional gas model that would come with the PHEV - the question is what would it look like? The Concept GC-PHEV we saw at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show could offer clues, but with Masuko listing the SUV as the company's second most popular model behind pickups, how daring could designers get with it? On the other hand, if you compare the Concept PX-MiEV shown at Tokyo in 2011, the similarity to the production Outlander is more than one might expect for a crossover that's become a major seller for the brand. With an introduction due in 2015 or 2016, we shouldn't have to wait long to find out. Regrettably, there's still no word on the return of a Mitsubishi pickup truck.
