2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Sedan 4-door 2.0l on 2040-cars
Proctor, Vermont, United States
I am selling my 2003 Evo 8 with 102,XXX. The car was built at 802performance and tuned at ECS in CT. I have all receipts related to the build. I only recently had the car tuned, so the motor has around 300 miles on it. The car is still on the break in tune, so the motor cuts off around 4k. I do have a regular tune paid for at ECS as well, I just need to get the motor broken in before tuning it fully. With only a few hundred miles on the new build, nothing is even close to being damaged. I love the car, I just can't afford to finish the build due to recently moving. The build includes:
•Arp m11 head studs •ID 1000cc injectors •Gsc zero tick lifters •Tial q BOV •Manley pistons, rods, and bearings •cometic headgasket •Walboro 255 fuel pump •Skunk2 Performance pro series intake manifold •Kelford 272 cams •HKS cam gears •Stage 3 Port and polished racing head (bought from Paul at ECS) •Coil on plug conversion •Magnaflow turbo back exhaust •Cold air intake •SPEC stage 2+ clutch •Hawk performance brake pads •Slotted rotors •AEM air/fuel gauge •Prosport boost gauge •Manual boost controller •Turbosmart Internal Wastegate Actuator And of course a roll cage Open to trades, preferably a TDI passat or jetta wagon. Mitsubishi celebrates 30th anniversary in US with Outlander Sport Limited Edition
Thu, 29 Nov 2012The hurrah of the last kind for the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is this Limited Edition that celebrates 30 years of Mitsubishi Motors in North America. Built in North America as well, the 2013 Outlander Sport Limited Edition gets numerous black trim pieces outside, such as the center bumper, side mirror housings, wheel arch trim and skirting and roof rails. It sits on special Argent wheels.
Open the doors and the darkness continues with available Dove Grey and Black leather seating, and black leather parking brake sleeve, all accented by aluminum brake and accelerator pedals. On this model the six-way power driver's seat is standard. The sole performance mod is a new balancer shaft that makes for quicker acceleration without any penalty in the mileage rating.
You can start saying goodbye to this generation of the Outlander Sport in the high-res gallery above, and read more about it in the press release below.
Mitsubishi struggling to sell doomed plant due to union workers
Sat, Oct 3 2015Mitsubishi is about to end vehicle production in the US, but the company is having serious problems finding a buyer for its Normal, IL, factory that currently assembles the Outlander Sport. A major sticking point, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal, is the plant's workforce of over 900 United Auto Workers members. The automaker has been trying to find another company to take over the site for months and has set November as the point to stop manufacturing there. The Normal, IL, factory is unique because it's the only plant in the country that's run by a Japanese automaker with a UAW-represented workforce, after starting as a joint venture with Chrysler. That makes Ford, General Motors, and FCA the preferred buyers because they could conceivably take over the union contract. However, the Blue Oval and the General likely aren't interested. According to plant officials speaking to The Wall Street Journal, FCA and some unnamed car companies are potential buyers, but there's absolutely nothing final, yet. Proponents argue that buying the location is cheaper than building a new one. Making matters harder is that the UAW and Mitsubishi are currently negotiating a new union contract, and the factory's next owner might have to take over the deal, according to the WSJ. The workers were ready to vote whether to strike recently, but that was averted when an announcement on the local's webpage said a tentative agreement was expected Sunday. Of course, the Big Three have been experiencing their own, similar issues with crafting deals, too. Related Video:
Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too
Fri, 07 Dec 2012We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
