For car enthusiasts, the most exciting part of ringing in a new year is watching the list of import-eligible cars grow. Federal regulations make bringing a late-model car from Europe or Asia mind-bogglingly difficult, but these barriers fall as soon as a vehicle turns 25. There's no need to slash through a jungle of red tape; simply ship your dream forbidden fruit over, pay import duties, and in most states you're good to park a fresh import car in your garage. Of course, you need to locate any car you're considering importing, whether it's on this list of cars you can import in 2023 or not. A quick search of the internet will show that there are a lot of places that specialize in sourcing cars to import into the United States, and while we don't have any firsthand experience with any of them, we can point out a few well-known import car dealers, including some at auction. Duncan Imports and Classics bills itself as "America's Largest JDM Dealer" and keeps a large inventory of vehicles that have already been brought into the States. The Import Guys boast options to ship and finance worldwide, Davey Japan claims to have exported over 50,000 vehicles from Japan, and Goonet Exchange says it's operated by "Japan's largest used car information site." Japanese site Be Forward lists a staggering 10,949 online reviews at the time of writing with an average score of around 4.5 out of 5 stars. If your new year's resolution is to buy a car from overseas, here are some of the highlights from 2023's crop of importable cars. Keep in mind that some of these import cars were introduced in 1997 but didn't enter production until 1998, while others made their debut late in the year. If this were real, it would be a pretty horrifying fight to watch. But while we can't be entirely certain, we're almost positive that this argument is completely staged for a number of reasons. The major one is that the same uploader also has videos with millions of total views of the same "Psycho Dad" dropping an Xbox in a pool, running over games with a lawn mower and taking an axe to a laptop. Furthermore, just looking at the clip itself, people don't generally wait for the other person to stop talking when yelling at each other. It also seems a bit suspicious that the kid directly speaks to the audience at one point.

Pristine, time-traveling 2006 Mitsubishi Evo sells for $138K

Remember that never-sold 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution we told you about last week? The one with 9 miles on the odometer, its seats wrapped in plastic and never titled? And that had already earned a bid of $100,100 on eBay? Well, that Evo has now sold for a hair under $138,000, Road and Track reports. That's $100,000 over its original sticker price of $37,094. The seller was South Coast Mitsubishi in Orange County, Calif., which one Reddit user claims has stockpiled multiple Evos and sold them off at a premium. This high-fetching Evolution is an IX MR model in Graphite Gray with black trim, a six-speed manual, all-wheel-drive transmission. It's optioned with the MR package that includes some aluminum and carbon-fiber bits and boost-gauge kit, plus the Zero Lift aero kit. Under the hood is a 2.0-liter, 16-valve inline four-cylinder, 286 horsepower engine with 289 pound-feet of torque. It can do 0-to-60 in 4.4 seconds. The car's production run ended with the 2015 model year. The car fielded a total of 80 bids, which started at $30,000.
