Mitsubishi to showcase eX crossover concept in Tokyo

The Tokyo Motor Show is coming up at the end of the month, and Mitsubishi isn't about to sit it out. That's where the Diamond Star automaker will unveil the eX Concept pictured here. The electric crossover concept packs what the company terms as a "next-generation EV system" into what looks at first blush like a rather dramatic design. Mitsubishi is telling us next to nothing about the eX and its specifications. However, it indicates that the concept incorporates an all-electric powertrain, all-wheel drive, an automated driving system, vehicle connectivity, and active safety systems. The automaker has also only revealed the one rendering above, but it bears all the hallmarks of a modern Mitsubishi concept like the ones we've seen in recent years. That includes the company's signature Diamond Shield front grille, flanked by narrow, angular headlights and oversized running lamps. Naturally, this concept rides on oversized wheels and boasts spindly little mirrors, all in an effort to tell us this is a bonafide show car and not a pre-production prototype. 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport recalled over brake lamps

Mitsubishi is recalling certain 2013 Outlander Sport models for a couple of brake-related reasons. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the brake lamps may illuminate continuously or intermittently. On top of that, the NHTSA report states that the vehicle's shift lever could be moved out of the Park position without depressing the brake pedal.
A total of 4,539 Outlander Sport models are being recalled for these issues. All of the affected vehicles were built between June 11 and September 11, 2012.
Obviously, both of these issues can be hazardous. If the brake lamps do not illuminate properly, other vehicles may not realize that the car is stopping. And if the shift lever can be moved from Park without touching the brake pedal, the vehicle could roll away unexpectedly.

Mitsubishi celebrates 30th anniversary in US with Outlander Sport Limited Edition

The hurrah of the last kind for the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is this Limited Edition that celebrates 30 years of Mitsubishi Motors in North America. Built in North America as well, the 2013 Outlander Sport Limited Edition gets numerous black trim pieces outside, such as the center bumper, side mirror housings, wheel arch trim and skirting and roof rails. It sits on special Argent wheels.
Open the doors and the darkness continues with available Dove Grey and Black leather seating, and black leather parking brake sleeve, all accented by aluminum brake and accelerator pedals. On this model the six-way power driver's seat is standard. The sole performance mod is a new balancer shaft that makes for quicker acceleration without any penalty in the mileage rating.
