This vehicle is like my 3rd child. Nothing too good for my EVO! The motor was pulled right below 15,000 and bored out 10,000 over which is the sliver of a piece of paper by Rebco in Petersburg VA. I purchased the vehicle in Virginia. The previous owner of the car, built the motor with nothing but the best parts and he supplied the labor. He owns an automotive company in Virginia. the motor is a 2.1 Liter. I drove it to AMS performance in Chicago for a Dyno and Tune along with adding Guages, slotted roters with ceramic disk brakes, new 1000 cc injectors, and a new fuel pump just to have it done because i drove 300 miles to get there $3719.00. Their are no check engine lights!!! The car performes amazingly and AMS said it was a great build. The Car was Dynoed at 486 WHP at 350 pound of torque @ 26psi. 93 Octane. I just had Nitto Neogen tires put on April 15 of this yr. $1038.00. When I purchased the vehicle and went through the parts used on the car I noticed the car had an alluninum flywheel, so I had a Steel flywheel Streetlite flywheel with a clutch kit, extended life coolant, with new flywheel bolts. $2464.39. I had a clear urithane bra put on the front bumper, 25% of the hood, 25% both quarter pannels, and the back of the side mirrors to eliminate any rock or bug chips 700.00. Parts sheet from the previous owner without labor $6820.00 All receipts in hand. AMS said to run AMS oil full synthetic 10w 40w changed out every 2000 miles. Stainless steel brake lines. AMS Evo x Clutch mastercylinder Conversion kit 436.00 for the parts only. ATP GT35R Bolt on Turbo with ATP Transformable downpipe vent to Atmosphere installed 12-21-11 labor only 1683.00 , 9:1 compression, JE Pro Series FSR Forged Pistons, Cosworth MX1 Grind Camshafts/Mitsubishi evolution X, ETS Front mount intercooler, ETS intake kit, Cosworth Rod Bearings, High Performance Mainbearing Set. The car got 23 miles to the gallon driving to chicago to AMS. The car is whatever you want it to be as far as a daily driver or weekend cruiser. The car runs amazing and will outperform your expectations. Mechanically perfect in every way. Body has 38,150 miles and motor has almost 23,000. Also AMS put a 5500 rpm stall for launching and a 8500 rpm top end on the car for a rev limiter. I've never launched the car or took it to the track, but I'll bet its a high 10 second car. I used it as a weekend car to go cruising and it stayed in the garage. I have only put right at 13,000 miles on the car for the last 3 yrs and 4 months. Any questions call me @ 618-520-5446. Spectator killed in seventh stage of Dakar Rally
Tue, Jan 12 2016Not surprisingly, tragedy has struck at the Dakar Rally this year. A vehicle hit a spectator in the seventh stage of the rally on Saturday, along the stretch between Uyuni, Bolivia, and Salta, Argentina. Running in 52nd place, the Mitsubishi Lancer driven by French contestant Lionel Baud hit a 63-year-old spectator. Emergency medical personnel responded to the accident, only to declare the man dead on the scene. This was the second time a competing vehicle collided with spectators in this year's event. During the Prologue stage a week ago, Guo Meiling drove her Mini into a crowd of spectators, injuring eleven – including a father and son who were hospitalized in critical condition. This is the first time, however, that a death occurred as part of the rally since 2013, when a support vehicle collided with two taxis in Peru and killed two. Though still in progress, this year's rally has been dominated thus far by the Peugeot team. All but the opening Prologue stage have been won by the French team, with Sebastien Loeb winning three out of six full stages run so far. His teammate Stephane Peterhansel has won another two, while Carlos Sainz won the tragic seventh stage on Saturday. Following Sunday's rest day, there remain another six stages before the rally concludes in Rosario on January 16.
Mitsubishi HQ raided by the Japanese government
Fri, Sep 2 2016Mitsubishi's fuel economy scandal continues to grow, and the Japanese government wants answers. According to Reuters, the Japanese Transport Ministry raided the company's headquarters and a factory in Nagoya today. This raid comes soon after the company revealed that a number of its SUVs were also being sold with incorrect fuel economy ratings. The Japanese government issued a stop-sale on those vehicles a few days ago. This raid also follows an internal investigation conducted by Mitsubishi to discover how this fuel economy scandal happened, and how the practices that led to it were able to continue for 25 years. The internal investigation revealed a few contributing factors that all fell under issues with the company's culture. There was significant pressure throughout the company to reach fuel economy targets and missing them wasn't readily accepted. Questioning decisions of management was also discouraged, and it seemed the different divisions of the company weren't working well together. The findings of this raid have yet to be revealed, but it will be interesting to see how they compare with those of the internal investigation. The Japanese Transport Ministry seems intent on preventing a repeat of this with another company considering that, according to Reuters, it "sent documents to other automakers to enforce compliance with rules for calculating mileage ." Europe on track to buy more PHEVs than hybrids by 2019
Mon, Apr 27 2015LMC Automotive, formerly the forecasting division of J.D. Power & Associates, predicts that plug-in hybrids will sell better than conventional hybrids by 2019. By 2021, it envisions PHEV sales at 600,000 units yearly compared to 325,000 standard hybrid sales, and by 2024 PHEV sales are expected to account for 1.2 million sales every year. Part of LMC's prediction is based on a few factors, such as that it believes "electric-only operation will come to be seen as a true luxury characteristic and will be prized sufficiently to command significant premiums." Certain PHEVs are helped in countries like the UK and The Netherlands by generous incentives or other perks, like avoiding inner London's congestion charge, that allow them to address their price differences compared to standard offerings. And the number of PHEVs on the market will soon eclipse regular hybrids, coming from makers across the spectrum. Volvo has twice recently, and only belatedly, learned of the popularity of PHEVs: in 2013 it had to triple production of the V60 PHEV, and just this month it said demand for its XC90 PHEV is four times expectations. The Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid is outselling the traditional hybrid Panamera by more than seven-to-one. And then there's Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, Europe's best-selling PHEV with 19,855 units, a volume more than three times larger than the second-best seller. Although LMC sees hybrid growth slowing, they're still doing well. Toyota and Lexus build the top-five selling traditional hybrids in Europe, combining for 72 percent of European sales, with the new Auris and Yaris hybrids alone selling 123,506 units in 2014. For LMC's forecast to come true, Europe will need a spectacular change in buying habits, since the top ten conventional hybrids tallied 175,847 sales in 2014, and the top ten PHEVs rang up 36,138 sales.
