Engine type and transmission
3.8L V6 Naturally Aspirated with Automatic Transmission
Vehicle condition:
Engine – Engine was replaced with professionally remanufactured long block assembly at 132,097 miles. Engine was remanufactured by Kar King Auto in Ontario California, installed by local Las Vegas shop. Receipt/paperwork for engine on hand. Engine has only 379 miles.
Transmission professionally rebuilt at 132362 miles. Transmission rebuild done by Transmission Diagnostics Solutions in Las Vegas. Transmission has only 114 miles on it. Receipt/paperwork for transmission rebuild on hand.
Exterior – Pearl White exterior paint has some minor scratches typical for a 19 year old car. No dents, car body is straight and free of rust. Paint on front bumper rubbed off in one spot from hitting a garage door – visible in pictures. Also has some red specks (possibly paint overspray?) on right side upper B pillar.
Interior – Black leather interior in great shape except for the edge of the driver’s seat which is worn. Driver’s side window needs a new regulator. One clip for the moon roof cover is broken.
Car has the following mechanical issues:
1. Needs new shocks all around
2. Rear tires are new, replaced at same time as engine (receipt on hand)
3. Front tires are worn
4. Has a coolant leak from upper radiator hose
5. Exhaust leak from front manifold pipe
6. Needs a new battery
7. THE BIG ISSUE: Car has an intermittent problem with the accelerator not responding. It sometimes takes off great, sometimes there is no response when you push the gas pedal. Is not a problem with the mechanical linkage/cable. Check engine light is NOT on and there are no codes. Have been told three different things by three different mechanics;
a. The fuel pump needs to be replaced
b. The throttle position sensor is defective
c. The throttle body needs to be rebuilt/replaced
Car is in all original condition except for the rims and alarm. Car was equipped with “Black Widow” alarm system when I purchased it but since I didn’t have the fob I had it disabled.

2014 Mitsubishi Lancer to shrink
Wed, 24 Oct 2012The aging, oft-forgotten Mitsubishi Lancer won't get a replacement until sometime in 2014, but a new report states that the next-generation model could be a relatively drastic departure from the car you see here. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation President Osamu Masuko told Australian site The Motor Report that the new Lancer will be smaller than the current car, going in a different direction than the vast majority of other automakers.
"The new Lancer will be a very new car, and will be sized somewhere between the current model and its predecessor," Masuko-san told The Motor Report.
There are both pros and cons to this decision. On the plus side, a smaller car means the Lancer will likely have a weight advantage over other vehicles in its class. That said, Mitsubishi will need to find ways to maximize interior space and create efficient packaging in order to still have its compact sedan remain competitive with strong offerings like the Hyundai Elantra, Chevrolet Cruze, Ford Focus and so on.
Mitsubishi Electric unveils Emirai 4 autonomous EV concept for Tokyo
Mon, Oct 16 2017Mitsubishi Electric – a separate arm from Mitsubishi Motors – specializes in electronics. That includes things like air conditioning and refrigerators, but also covers a number of automotive systems and parts ranging from engine control units to power steering to electrification products. Now, Mitsubishi Electric is putting that expertise to use in the field of future mobility, unveiling an entire concept car, called the Emirai 4, for the Tokyo Motor Show. The Emirai 4 is electric, and can switch between normal and autonomous driving. It has a head-up display that uses augmented reality, powered by high-accuracy 3D mapping and positioning tech, to emphasize lane markings, making them more visible at night or in lousy weather. A central display is equipped with a sliding knob that can be assigned various functions, and is intended to help the driver keep their eyes on the road. The car is also equipped with a driver sensing system. It uses an interior camera to monitor the driver and passenger by detecting head position and posture. It can alert the driver to unsafe driving, respond to the driver or passenger's individual conditions to make them more comfortable, and aids in providing a smooth transition between autonomous and manual driving modes. The Emirai 4 also features an intelligent lighting system that detects when someone is going to open the door. That way, it can project an image onto the road and light up an alert on the rear of the car to alert passersby, hopefully preventing a collision with the door buy a pedestrian, cyclist, or another motorist. We'll be at the Tokyo Motor Show, so we'll be able to dig a little deeper into how these systems work (and get some better photos) when we see the Emirai 4 in person. This won't be the only concept bearing the Mitsubishi name at the Tokyo Motor Show. Mitsubishi Motors is planning its own unveiling of an electric vehicle called the e-Evolution. That all-wheel-drive SUV uses artificial intelligence to improve your driving skills. Mitsubishi has been teasing the e-Evolution, which borrows its name from the hardcore Lancer we all know and love, and it will get its full reveal next week. Related Video:
Look what West Coast Customs did to a 100-year-old Mitsubishi Model A
Mon, Nov 27 2017A hundred years ago, Mitsubishi made its first car, called the Model A. Back in April of this year, the automaker said it would update an example of that original model, electrifying it with the help of West Coast Customs. The result is the Mitsubishi Re-Model A, which combines old-school looks with the automaker's plug-in hybrid powertrain borrowed from the Outlander PHEV. To make room for the Outlander PHEV's chassis, West Coast Customs had to stretch the body of the Model A, while attempting to retain as much of its original form as possible. Once that was completed, they gave the car new door panels and modern steering wheel and parking brake. With two drive motors, the Re-Model A gets Mitsubishi's Super All-Wheel Control. The resulting car is a little funky looking. It's got wide, modern wheels and tires that look out of place. The front end takes on a new shape that looks odd from certain angles. On the plus side, it's probably faster and better to drive (depending on your perspective) than the original, which had a 2.8-liter four-cylinder engine producing 35 horsepower. We drove the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV that the Re-Model A gets its chassis from, and enjoyed it quite a bit. Still, watching the mechanics tear down a 100-year-old vehicle — which will never be the same again — makes us cringe. Mitsubishi has a microsite devoted to the Re-Model A if you'd like to learn more. Related Video:
