Mitsubishi drops two more teasers of new Outlander

Mitsubishi just keeps teasing the debut of the refreshed 2016 Outlander at the 2015 New York Auto Show on April 2. The Japanese brand already hinted at the updated CUV's look on the company's invitation to the event in the Big Apple. Now, it released an even clearer view of the front and the first official look at the crossover's rear. Debuting Mitsubishi's new design language, a shot of an Outlander waiting at port already revealed its new nose completely undisguised. The brand's latest teaser provides yet another glimpse at it and further confirms the X-shaped front end that's outlined in chrome. As with the rest of the updated styling, the rear also adapts the look of last year's Concept-S. The taillights are still separated into three bars, but here they stop at the tailgate in the center, rather than running all the way across like on the show car. Beyond just the refreshed styling, the 2016 Outlander has over 100 improvements, according to Mitsubishi, including NHV refinements, better handling and improved throttle response. Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is world's first production plug-in hybrid CUV [w/video]

Though Mitsubishi first showed us the form of its 2013 Outlander in Geneva a while back, the company saved its plug-in hybrid crossover for this week's Paris Motor Show soiree.
Mitsubishi is quite proud to offer what it says is the world's first production PHEV utility vehicle, a new model that makes use of established technologies within the company. Learnings from the company's i-MiEV electric car have worked there way into a vehicle that can travel up to 55 kilometers (34 miles) on lithium-ion battery power. Two electric motors independently power the front and rear wheels of the Outlander, while the gasoline-powered engine can be used as a generator for the motors, or to power the vehicle directly. The target combined fuel economy for the Outlander PHEV is 61 km/liter, or roughly 143 miles per gallon.
The Outlander PHEV will be introduced in the Japanese market in the first part of 2013, with European and North American markets to follow on. Mitsubishi Evolution Final Edition goes out with a bang

The end of a long era - one we got to experience too little of - is just about at an end, and this car is its gravestone. The 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition is the last breath of ten generations of Lancer Evos, three of which came to the US. Mitsubishi launched a Final Edition Evo X in Japan earlier this year, after teasing a 473-horsepower concept at the Tokyo Auto Salon, now it's our turn. Built on the lower GSR trim, our model gets 303 hp, a bump of 12 hp, and torque goes up by five pound-feet to 305 lb-ft. The bigger modification is arguably the fitment of Bilstein shocks wrapped in Eibach springs all around, plus two-piece Brembo calipers on the front axle, all of which come standard on the upper-level MR trim. Dark chrome Enkei wheels match the dark chrome front grille surround. Like the grille, other changes for the Final Edition appear to be ornamental: black aluminum roof, black interior with red accent stitching, and special badging. Mitsubishi is putting 1,600 on sale here, each one with a numbered plaque just ahead of the shifter for the five-speed manual transmission. A second badge makes an appearance on the decklid. Final Edition Evos come in one of four colors, new Pearl White, Rally Red, Mercury Gray and Octane Blue, and cost $37,995.
