FOR SALE: 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T (2nd generation) - $3000 OBO (Westchester/NYC, NY) 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T (2nd generation) Exterior: Kalpana Black Interior: Tan/Beige 68,xxx miles Automatic Transmission Leather seats Sunroof 16" Stock Chrome Wheels Spoiler Multi-Lock security device. Disc Changer Tein Adjustable Coil Over Suspension I am only the 2nd owner. No accidents, clean title in hand with no issues. Low mileage w/ only 68k miles. No major mods or upgrades so not abused. I believe the car had every possible option installed for the GS-T (turbo model). One of the stock struts leaked so I used that as an opportunity to upgrade to a full Tien adjustable coil over system. As described in the condition section, the car is currently not running. It was stationary for over a year while I had to travel to the west coast for work. When I came back it would not start and not really sure why. I tried a known working battery but that did not help. I'm convinced the problem is with the starting system but I'm not really sure. Body is free from any major dents but there are a few small dings. There is some paint fade on the roof and small area on the hood from sitting in the sun. When the car was running it had good pull, especially when the turbo spooled and kicked in. She was a ton of fun to drive and have great memories with her. I am moving to the west coast permanently so need to sell this car while I am back here in NY. I was told that the 4G63T engine in this car (same as the original Mitsubishi Evolution) was popular and that there might be interest in a car with such low mileage. I figured I would post it for sale here to see if there is any interest. It would be nice to know that she will go somewhere and get fixed up and be well taken care of. I need to have the car removed in the a couple of weeks so if there is no interest I will be forced to donate it for a tax write off. Please note that the car will need to be picked up and towed away. If you are out of town and want it shipped you will need to coordinate the details although I will help in any way that I can.
**I also have the following brand new items which I purchased but never got to install in the car. They are also up for sale but are NOT part of, or included in this auction. If you are purchasing the car we can negotiate a price for the entire package. Or, if you have any interest in the follow items please send me a message and I can put them up on another Ebay auction. Injen Intake System w/ BOV Dump Greddy SP2 Exhaust 2.5" Mandrel Bend Stainless Street Downpipe w/ Flex 2.5" High-Flow Catalytic Converter (2) O2 Sensor Housings A bunch of new oil filters New high amp alternator The car is located in Yonkers, NY. I am posting a few pics here. If you want additional pics, or have any questions feel free to reach out to me. Thanks for looking..! |

Here are a few of our automotive guilty pleasures
Tue, Jun 23 2020It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. The world is full of cars, and just about as many of them are bad as are good. It's pretty easy to pick which fall into each category after giving them a thorough walkaround and, more important, driving them. But every once in a while, an automobile straddles the line somehow between good and bad — it may be hideously overpriced and therefore a marketplace failure, it may be stupid quick in a straight line but handles like a drunken noodle, or it may have an interior that looks like it was made of a mess of injection-molded Legos. Heck, maybe all three. Yet there's something special about some bad cars that actually makes them likable. The idea for this list came to me while I was browsing classified ads for cars within a few hundred miles of my house. I ran across a few oddballs and shared them with the rest of the team in our online chat room. It turns out several of us have a few automotive guilty pleasures that we're willing to admit to. We'll call a few of 'em out here. Feel free to share some of your own in the comments below. Dodge Neon SRT4 and Caliber SRT4: The Neon was a passably good and plucky little city car when it debuted for the 1995 model year. The Caliber, which replaced the aging Neon and sought to replace its friendly marketing campaign with something more sinister, was panned from the very outset for its cheap interior furnishings, but at least offered some decent utility with its hatchback shape. What the two little front-wheel-drive Dodge models have in common are their rip-roarin' SRT variants, each powered by turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Known for their propensity to light up their front tires under hard acceleration, the duo were legitimately quick and fun to drive with a fantastic turbo whoosh that called to mind the early days of turbo technology. — Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski Chevrolet HHR SS: Chevy's HHR SS came out early in my automotive journalism career, and I have fond memories of the press launch (and having dinner with Bob Lutz) that included plenty of tire-smoking hard launches and demonstrations of the manual transmission's no-lift shift feature. The 260-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder was and still is a spunky little engine that makes the retro-inspired HHR a fun little hot rod that works quite well as a fun little daily driver.
Junkyard Gem: 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally Edition
Fri, Nov 25 2016The Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally Edition looked fast, with sporty OZ wheels and some Evo-ish body moldings. In fact, it had the same sewing-machine-grade 120-horse four-cylinder under the hood, driving just the front wheels, as the ordinary commuter-appliance Lancer. Mitsubishi moved enough of these things that you see them from time to time; here's a used-up example in a Denver-area self-service wrecking yard. These cars must have been popular in Colorado, because this is the second discarded example I have seen in a couple of months, following this '03. Rear drum brakes on a 21st-century car badged as a Rally Edition? Yes, rear drum brakes. The original factory cold-air intake is gone, replaced by this innovative rain-gutter-downspout rig. Is there anything you can't fix with sheet-metal screws, zip ties, and duct tape? The single non-appearance-related rally-ish bit here is the five-speed manual transmission. Junkyard Gem: 1987 Dodge Ram 50
Sun, Apr 18 2021Chrysler began selling Dodge-badged Mitsubishis way back in the 1971 model year, when the Mitsubishi Colt Galant became known here as the Dodge Colt. Later in the decade, a Plymouth Arrow-badged version of the Mitsubishi Triton small pickup appeared here, along with a Dodge version known as the D-50 and — a few years later — the Ram 50. Once Mitsubishi began selling the same trucks here as Mighty Maxes, starting in the 1983 model year, the Ram 50 didn't seem quite so specialÂ… and then the Dakota made its debut for the 1987 model year. Still, when the Triton went to its second generation that same year, Chrysler continued selling it as the Ram 50. Here's one of those second-generation trucks, found in a Denver-area self-service yard last month. At this point, GM had long since stopped selling Isuzu Fasters with Chevrolet LUV emblems, as had Ford with the Courier-badged Mazda Proceed (after developing the all-American S-10 and Ranger, respectively). The decision-makers at Chrysler, however, calculated that the Ram 50 could grab some sales from Dodge truck shoppers who felt that the Dakota was too big for their needs; as a result, the Ram 50 stayed on sale here through 1994. The last Mighty Maxes rolled out of American Mitsubishi showrooms in 1996. The 6G72 V6 engine became available in four-wheel-drive Ram 50s a few years after this truck was built, but in 1987 all Ram 50s came with either the 2.0-liter 4G63 Sirius or 2.6-liter Astron four-banger. This truck has the base Sirius, rated at 92 horsepower. Remember when new trucks came with double-digit horsepower ratings? Most American-market small pickups still had manual transmissions during the middle 1980s, though that would change in a hurry with the dawn of the 1990s and the drop in slushbox prices. This one has the base five-speed. Just barely 100,000 miles on the clock, very unusual for a junkyard pickup of this age (especially one with a thick coat of brush-applied white house paint on the tailgate). Maybe the speedometer cable broke 25 years ago. You don't see many rear-wheel-drive pickups with roll bars. You'll find one in every car. You'll see. This content is hosted by a third party.
