2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Viii Se - Low Miles, One Owner, Mint Condition on 2040-cars
Hillsboro, Oregon, United States
Selling my 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution 8. This car is in excellent condition with super low miles, only 67k. These are all original miles on the original motor. I'm the original owner, it's been meticulously cared for and always garaged from the day I brought it home. In addition, this is one of only about 60 Special Edition 2003's that made it to the States. You had to special order the car this way from Mitsubishi, the package includes:
Leather & Alcantara Recaro Seats Sunroof Graphite Interior Trim Brushed Aluminum Hood Vent Front Intercooler Sprayer This car is only lightly modified and I have ALL the stock parts for the purest out there that wants a pristine OEM Evo. Mods include: Perrin Front Mount Intercooler ETS Upper & Lower Intercooler Piping Greddy TI Turbo-Back Exhaust K&N Air Fiter Swift Lowering Springs Mini Battery Kit Evo IX Headlights Evo IX Taillights Pioneer Head Unit w/ Organic Color Display 18" PIAA Wheels w/ BF Goodrich g-Force KDW Tires *Brand new, less than 1000 miles on them* **Note about these wheels: These were special ordered from PIAA to fit an Evo and are the ONLY set in the world that fits this car. This style of wheel usually does not come in a size that fits an Evo. **I also have two 2003 Evo rear wings, both white. The early Evo's had clear coat issues with the rear wings (which both of mine have). Mitsubishi replaced wings with this issue but I opted not to because the replacements were not 100% carbon fiber like the originals. A body shop could re-clear the wing if you wanted to have it repaired. I have completed all the service needed for the mileage including the 60k service which includes the timing belt, plugs and all the pulleys. All OEM parts were used. Brakes have less than 5k miles on them. New tags good through 2016. Never been in an accident, all original glass and body panels. Clean & clear title and CarFax. I'm selling because I just don't have time to drive it anymore and it deserves to be driven. This Evo is in perfect condition and has super low miles, you just can't find them like this anymore. |

Mitsubishi cheated on Japanese fuel economy test since 1991
Tue, Apr 26 2016Mitsubishi now says that its cheating on Japanese fuel economy tests stretches as far back as 1991. The automaker has hired an independent panel of investigators to get to the bottom of what happened, and the company will give them three months to prepare a report about the deception. Mitsubishi's cheat involves how the company calculated driving resistance to determine fuel economy. In 1991, Japan's Road Transport Vehicle Act established a coasting test to establish the driving resistance, but Mitsubishi's engineers used their own "high-speed coasting test," according to its statement. In 2007, the company decided to only use the country's mandated evaluation, but the employees kept utilizing the high-speed test in the field. In the most recent scandal, workers selected low values for driving resistance from the results, which made the fuel economy look better. Mitsubishi's presented these details in a report to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism. "We are currently investigating the reasoning behind each of the decisions," the company said in a statement. It also hired three former prosecutors to figure out why this happened for so long. At this time, Mitsubishi only confirms the incorrect figures for some of the company's minicars, but this investigation could discover more transgressions. This fiasco started when Nissan discovered fuel economy discrepancies in some of its Mitsubishi-made tiny kei-class cars in Japan. Mitsubishi came clean and admitted the problem affected about 625,000 vehicles in the country. Japanese media have alleged more vehicles have incorrect mileage, including the Outlander. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the US has also requested data from the Japanese automaker to confirm similar deceptions didn't happen for vehicles here. Mitsubishi XR-PHEV Concept is a chronicle of an Outlander Sport foretold [w/video]
Thu, 21 Nov 2013Mitsubishi's current Outlander Sport has done a yeoman's job since it came on the market for the 2011 model year. The affordable crossover has been one of the few bright spots in the perennially troubled automaker's lineup - it's the brand's best seller in the US and sales are up nearly 40 percent this year. The subcompact CUV has become an increasingly important part of the Mitsubishi lineup, which is why you should pay attention to this XR-PHEV Concept - it's said to presage the next-generation model.
Stylistically, this is a pretty bold little CUV, with a striking face framed by bold zig-zags of chrome that underline the narrow headlamps and frame the massive lower fascia. The profile has a dramatically tapered greenhouse with bold sheetmetal contours and a funky blacked-out A-pillar that emphasizes the hood's height. The rear end is no less dramatic, with dual-pane rear tailgate with a particularly fast rake.
As shown here, the XR-PHEV (pronounced "Cross Runner") is a four-seat CUV that motivates its front wheels through a turbocharged 1.1-liter, three-cylinder engine with 134 horsepower paired with a 120-kW electric motor. In pure-electric mode, the 14-kWh battery is said to be good for 52 miles of cruising range and the combined fuel economy bogey is 66 miles per gallon on Japan's lenient testing cycle.
Mitsubishi brings back the Eclipse as a crossover
Tue, Feb 14 2017The rumors were correct. Mitsubishi announced Tuesday its new crossover will be called the Eclipse Cross. Based on the company's statements, the idea is this crossover has coupe-like style, which is why Mitsubishi chose the name of its well-known Eclipse two-door. In this form, however, it will also be a practical crossover – hence the Cross name. Mitsubishi also released a few more teaser images that reveal a fair amount of the sport-ute. From what we can tell, the design closely follows that of the XR-PHEV II concept shown at Geneva two years ago. While the Eclipse Cross is certainly toned down compared with that concept, it still shares the basic grille treatment, side character line, taillights, and rear glass design. We'll admit we're sad to see the name of a classic Japanese sports coupe take up residence on a small sport utility vehicle. In part because it just doesn't seem quite appropriate. But, also because it means we won't see a sports car with the name. Of course, Mitsubishi could go a long way to making us feel better by making, say, a high-performance, all-wheel-drive version of this crossover. It could be called Eclipse Cross GSX. Feel free to use that idea, Mitsubishi. Related Video:
