Pros Strong engine and transmission New clutch New starter New cv axle Good tread on tires Leather interior Power windows, locks Cruise control Premium Infinity sound system Rear spoiler Cons Very minor oil leak at the valve cover gasket Minor coolant leak(needs new thermostat housing and hose) runs aprox 100 miles before coolant needs replaced Minor dings and scratches(see pictures) Sometimes (especially over bumps) theres a sound coming front driver side wheel area. Ive had the cv axle replaced, so im not sure what it is, possibly a ball joint. I have the 4th chrome wheel, but it has a hole in it. I was told it cant be replaced. I will throw it in, if youd like to have it. I have a title loan on this vehicle. I owe approximately 1250 on the loan. The title loan company does not hold the title on property, they hold the title at their parent company in Florida. Buyer has 2 options for payment of vehicle. Option 1.- Pay a deposit of 1250. I will use the deposit to pay off the title loan, and the title will arrive in the mail in 3to5 business days, at which time I will notify the buyer and we can meet up to finish payment and delivery of vehicle. Option 2- Meet in person and accompany me to the title loan store, pay off the loan and pay me the balance and leave with the vehicle, and bill of sale. Despite missteps, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV a hit in UK
Fri, Jun 20 2014Like a stiff breeze off the White Cliffs of Dover, UK sales of the Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid may have the wind at its back. That's because the Japanese automaker isn't charging any extra, relative to the diesel-powered Outlander. And UK's Duxford Auto Group says it's already feeling the positive effects. The auto dealership is conducting about a dozen test drives a day for potential (and curious) customers, Cambridge News says. More tellingly, Duxford Auto is rebooking another dozen or so test drives per weekend day because of pent-up interest. The company hasn't released UK sales figures, Mitsubishi spokesman Dan Irvin told AutoblogGreen, but Duxford Auto says sales will be stronger than expected, especially since the Outlander PHEV is exempt from UK congestion charges. Mitsubishi introduced the Outlander PHEV to the UK this spring. The bonus there was that, inclusive of a UK government grant, the car was priced at the equivalent of about $47,000, or about the same price as the base diesel-powered version. The model, which pairs a 2.0-liter gas engine with an electric motor, has an all-electric range of 32 miles. Mitsubishi ran into problems with the Outlander PHEV in spring 2013 after a battery melted at a Japan dealership, causing the company to halt production on the model. The company later discovered that some of the batteries were short-circuiting due to a flaw in the screening process. Once those issues were solved, Mitsubishi doubled its production rate last year to make up for lost time. Meanwhile, Automotive News reported last month that California regulators will delay sales of the model in that state to late next year or early 2016 because of battery issues. The state, easily the largest US plug-in vehicle market, wants Mitsubishi to include battery-degradation monitors for the car's lithium-ion batteries. Mitsubishi spokesman Alex Fedorak refuted the report that the Outlander PHEV may not be available in the US until 2016. "Launch plans for the US version of the Outlander PHEV remain unchanged with an expected debut of Fall 2015," Fedorak told AutoblogGreen.
Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV US launch delayed over battery shortage
Mon, 30 Dec 2013Mitsubishi resumed full-scale battery production in August after a five-month shutdown due to a safety investigation. Supplier Lithium Energy Japan has been delivering 4,000 battery packs each month since September, but that's apparently still not enough to fill the overseas inventory pipeline for the Outlander PHEV and i subcompact EV while launching the Outlander PHEV here in the US. So instead of the previous tentative launch date of Fall 2014, the plug-in hybrid's Stateside on-sale date has been pushed back until 2015.
That's according to Automotive News, which also notes that Mitsubishi has sold 11,300 plug-in Outlanders this year, though that number reflects the production stoppage over the battery issues. As of April, battery supplier LEJ will be able to supply 5,000 packs per month just for the Outlander, but company president Osamu Masuko has gone on record saying that production will have to rise above that in order to make the US launch.
Every Mitsubishi dealer (and hopefully a fair number of consumers) will be looking forward to a crossover that, for the moment, doesn't really have natural rivals. The Outlander PHEV can drive 32 miles on electricity alone, has a top speed of 75 miles per hour in EV mode and offers all-wheel drive with a towing capacity of over 3,000 pounds. The model should get an impressive MPGe rating from the EPA when it finally arrives and it figures to be a bellwether for the plug-in Outlander Sport and Pajero utility vehicles that are expected to arrive after it. Hopefully 2015 will be its year.
