1995 Mitsubishi 3000gt Sl Red On Black Leather Interior Low Miles Needs Repair on 2040-cars

Year:1995 Mileage:105089 Color: is Caracas Red and has a black leather interior
Location:

Mission Viejo, California, United States

My 3000GT SL was purchased in May 1998. I am the second owner of the vehicle. The exterior color is Caracas Red and has a black leather interior. The car was babied and garage parked all the time. It comes from a non-smoker and I have all service records. It has a clean CARFAX history and clear title. It is not in running condition and needs repair. It will make a great project since it's still in good shape aside from issue #5 below. All major maintenance and issues encountered are listed below with repairs performed:

1) Automatic Climate Control with Display upgrade by Costa Mesa Mitsubishi on 07/22/1998. Cost was $2,057.

2) 60k miles service: Timing belt, water pump and all belts were replaced by Anaheim Mitsubishi dealer on 09/15/2001. Cost was $864.

3) Cold air problem: A/C evaporator was replaced by Anaheim Mitsubishi dealer on 06/26/2007. Cost was $850.

4) Auto Transmission was replaced and a separate transmission cooler with line were installed on 08/25/2007 at 90,667. Cost was $2000

5) Car was burning oil: Engine was rebuilt by Kar King Auto in Ontario CA on 11/11/2011 at 94,388 miles. Cost was $2200.

6) Timing belt pulley broke while driving vehicle on a street last May (2013). I didn't repair the issue and decided to sell the car. Therefore, I am selling it as is and the car is not running.

The original SL wheels were upgraded to the VR-4 5-spoke chrome package. The manual climate control system was upgraded by the dealer to the automatic system that comes with the display unit. Current miles on the odometer: 105,089. So basically the new engine barely got 10k miles after it was rebuilt (looks new if you take the oil cap off) and new tranny got 15k miles. I am not very happy to part with this car but I have to make room. Maybe you have the time to repair it and take over so it will shine again.

I will tow the vehicle anywhere you want for free up to 75 miles and I am available to show the vehicle if you are local to Orange County. Good luck!

Mitsubishi Attrage brochure reveals additional looks, info

Thu, 23 May 2013

If you're keen to get a closer look at the upcoming Mitsubishi Attrage global sedan, we've got good news for you. A handful of brochure images have made their way to the web courtesy of IndianAutosBlog.com, complete with driveline details. The compact car looks to have its teeth set on taking a chunk out of the Nissan Versa. The Attrage will launch in Thailand with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine good for 76 horsepower coupled to either a five-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission. The combination should yield a range of around 570 miles with an 11 gallon tank. We'll save you the math: that's over 50 miles per gallon, though we wouldn't be surprised to see a more powerful, less efficient engine show up on the US-spec model. Buyers can also enjoy snazzy 15-inch alloy wheels.
Expect to find a rearview camera, push-button start, Bluetooth audio and automatic climate control indoors. This information gives us a pretty good idea of what we can expect from the car once it touches down here in the US, though final details - including powertrain - remain likely to change somewhat.

Mitsubishi CEO vows to stay in US on heels of Suzuki's departure

Wed, 07 Nov 2012

By now, you're surely aware that Suzuki is pulling out of the US market. It was a bit of a foregone conclusion to most who've been paying attention to the automotive realm, but it still sent a small shockwave through the industry. And one of the most oft-heard retorts goes something like this: "Next up: Mitsubishi."
It's easy to understand why many question Mitsubishi's existence in the States. After all, now that Suzuki is gone, Mitsubishi is the Japanese automaker with the fewest sales in America. Furthermore, the automaker's market share has dropped from .7 percent to just .4 percent after seeing sales fall 29 percent to 50,103 units through October.
In any case, Mitsubishi fans needn't worry. Speaking to Automotive News, Mitsubishi President Osamu Masuko said, "We have no intention whatsoever of withdrawing from the US market." That's about as clear as clear can get. It's also worth mentioning that Gayu Uesugi was just named chairman of Mitsubishi Motors North America, and his main responsibility will be to revitalize the brand in the US.

Mitsubishi readying Outlander refresh

Sat, 02 Aug 2014

Mitsubishi has a big secret to keep under wraps when it comes to the looks of its refreshed Outlander crossover. Our spy shooters recently caught it testing in Germany, and the CUV had enough buckles, straps and snaps covering up the front end for the vehicle to fit in at an S&M party for cars. The rear was hidden just as thoroughly, too.
Given the areas that Mitsubishi's engineers are obscuring, it seems safe to assume that the Outlander is getting a heavily revised front end with redesigns for the grille, front bumper and possibly hood. The lights might be reshaped too, judging from these photos. The changes are just as hard to spot at the rear, but you can make out the shape of the taillights. They appear more rectangular than the current model, and the bumper looks more angular, as well.
This is likely our first glimpse of the of the major restyle for the Outlander that Mitsubishi execs told Autoblog about in July. The interior is also getting an update to improve interior material quality, we were told. The revisions are supposed to coincide with the launch of the PHEV model in the US at roughly the same time.
