For sale is my 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 V6 Twin Turbo Manual Transmission. The car is in very good condition for being over 20 years old. It comes in the rare factory color of pearl white with red leather interior. Car has 148,000 original miles on body and only 40k on rebuilt transmission. I bought it from a guy who came from Virginia, from the Marines, who was stationed in Wisconsin. The car has never seen snow and has all the paper work proving it is originally from Virginia. Car is currently in my garage and has NEVER been driven past Nov 1st. Has all service records and even the dealer sticker it came with when it was sold in 1992. The transmission was rebuilt at 108k and I have the paper work to prove it. Car has really been taken care of over the years. Car sounds beautiful with a Borla exhaust system installed. It doesn't sound like a "ricer", actually sounds "throaty" like a muscle car. Car pulls extremely hard and boosts really fast. Absolutely no rust, dents or accidents in this cars lifetime. Never used to race or abused by a teenager. I would put it up against any new foreign car these days. I am in the works of installing 5% tint all around the car and I have a Viper alarm/keyless entry/automatic starter I was also in the works of installing, but will include (or even install) for the right price. I am not in a hurry to sell this car, but I would be happy to entertain any offers, so please, no low balling (CASH ONLY). Only reason I am selling it is because I am going to purchase a new 2015 Mustang GT in August. So, I definitely have plenty of time to sell it.

Pros:
-Blitz BOV
-Blitz Turbo Timer
-Chrome Moda Rims
-Borla Exhaust System
-Y-Pipe
-K & N Cold Air Intake
-Voodoo Manually Boost Controller
-Red Leather Seats
-New Red Valve Cover

-2 MB Quart Formula 12" Subs  W/Custom Box And 1300 Watt Pioneer Amp (Sounds Great)

-3rd Generation Lifters Just Installer the Last 500 Miles (Any 3000GT That Doesn't Have The 3rd Generation Lifters Installed Sounds like A Ticking Time Bomb)
-Brand New SPEC II+ Clutch Kit Installed (Last 500 Miles) Holds up to 629 Ft/lb Of Torque ($1000)
-Brand New RPS Light Weight Fly Wheel Installed (Last 500 Miles and Best Fly Wheel Available)

2016 Mitsubishi Outlander confirmed for New York debut

Fri, Feb 13 2015

Mitsubishi is putting a lot of work into updating its lineup this year after strong sales growth in 2014. In addition to bringing the Concept GC-PHEV (pictured above) to the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, the Japanese brand is already spilling the beans about its plans for the New York Auto Show. "All of our 2016 model year vehicles will be refreshed with our new brand identity, starting with the 2016 Outlander, which will make its world premiere at the New York International Auto Show in April," Mitsubishi Motors North America Executive Vice President Don Swearingen said at the Chicago show. The future Outlander has already been spied testing in Europe. However, the launch of the plug-in variant has reportedly been pushed back until some time around April 2016. In the meantime, the Mitsubishi is showing the Concept GC-PHEV from an earlier Tokyo Motor Show in the Windy City. The company promises the vehicle's chunky design suggests its future design language, which is rumored to preview a future Montero. Under the hood, the GC-PHEV has a supercharged V6 and plug-in hybrid making 335 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic gearbox with power going to all four wheels. The GC-PHEV also has some sci-fi features to go with its next-gen looks, including something called the Tactical Table. While the name sounds like a high-tech way to play board games, the system lets occupants share information from a smartphone with the vehicle and other passengers. The concept includes an augmented reality windshield and collision mitigating braking, as well. Mitsubishi denies plans for Toyota/Subaru rival sports coupe

Tue, 23 Oct 2012

Forgive us for being wistful, but there was a time when Mitsubishi coupes and sports cars were the downright awesome. The 1990s brought us the all-wheel drive, turbocharged Eclipse GSX and the twin-turbocharged 3000GT VR-4 (seen here). The times, they were good.
Fast-forward to today, and the Lancer Evolution exists as Mitsubishi's sole, true performance offering. Mitsubishi killed off the Eclipse last year, by which time it had lost much the luster of its predecessors. With an affordable Japanese sports car fomenting underway thanks to Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ, one may think that it's an ideal time for a brand like Mitsubishi to jump back into the performance coupe game. A rear-drive Mitsubishi sports car to take on the Toyobaru twins could be just what the brand needs to gain some mindshare among consumers.
Not so, says Osamu Masuko. The president and executive director of Mitsubishi told reporters at the Sydney Motor Show, "Our engineers are very prominent to investigate new technologies, but to use that technology they are not that good to bring the revenue to make that money." Read: the engineers want to do it, but the company does not find it to be financially responsible.

A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]

Thu, Dec 18 2014

Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
