You are bidding on a 1993 Mitsubishi 3000 GT.  I have been the proud owner of it for seventeen years.  This car was a part of me and I have many fine memories of it.  For a long time I have been looking for something to replace it with or upgrade to.  I finally found something that can fill its' shoes.  I have purchased a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000 Gt VR4.  It has twin turbos, four wheel drive, four wheel steering, and a hard top convertible.  It's a really cool car.  Now I must sell my 1993.


I call it the original Sport Utility Vehicle.  It sure is sporty enough with its' 3 litre engine and five speed manual.  And the hatch back door and fold down rear seats can carry all sorts of stuff.  

Here's a list of some of the recent major things that I have done to it.  It just passed inspection.  Everything works just fine.  I have to admit that the OEM radio is a a bit sketchy and was on my replace it radar screen.  The AM, Six CD player, Cassette player, and Aux. MP3/Ipod player work just fine.  However,  the FM function sometimes refuses to cooperate.

Mitsubishi dealers would really like a truck to sell

While Mitsubishi is switching gears to focus on crossovers, that won't address a market that its dealers would like to be in. While answering questions from the press last night, Don Swearingen, executive vice president and COO of Mitsubishi's North American office, mentioned that its US dealers have a pickup truck high on their "shopping lists." In fact, he said that a truck is pretty much at the top. Mitsubishi does already have a small pickup truck it sells in foreign markets, badged as the Triton or L200. However, Swearingen said that just because dealers want a truck doesn't mean it's going to happen, citing various obstacles to bringing one to market. If, for example, Mitsubishi brought over the Triton, the company would have to go through the long, expensive process of certifying it for US safety and emissions regulations, not to mention making sure it fulfilled American buyers' demands. There's also the Chicken Tax, which levees a steep tariff on trucks built outside of the US and imported in. One possible way Mitsubishi could circumvent all of those issues, though, would be to leverage its new partnership with Nissan. Nissan already sells Frontier small pickups in the US, and Mitsubishi could simply redesign that model to suit its style. It's something that both companies are familiar with as well. Mitsubishi previously sold a restyled Dodge Dakota as the Raider, and Nissan allowed Suzuki to rebrand the Frontier to be sold as the Equator for a short time. It would certainly be a quick way to get into the truck market. However, Mitsubishi would also need to decide if such a product would actually be profitable, in addition to satisfying dealers. Chrysler began selling rebadged Mitsubishis in the United States in the 1971 model year, when the first Mitsubishi Colt Galants appeared as Dodge Colts here. This relationship prospered as the decade progressed, and the Galant Lambda coupe acquired Plymouth Sapporo and Dodge Challenger badges and went on sale in North America for the 1978 model year. We've seen a MitsuChallenger in this series, and now it's time for an example of its Plymouth sibling, found in a Colorado yard last month. Thanks to the increasingly good reputation of reliable and fuel-efficient Japanese machinery in the United States during the 1970s, the "manufactured in Japan" plaque became a selling point for these cars. The Sapporo had a 1.6-liter straight-four as its base engine, but this car has the optional 2.6-liter Astron. Its 105-horsepower output was fairly serious stuff for a small car in 1978. Later on, turbocharged Astrons powered the legendary Mitsubishi Starions, while naturally-aspirated versions went into Chrysler's K-Cars. The interior sports tri-tone bucket seats, racy-looking steering wheel, and full gauges. In the late 1970s through early 1980s, you needed opera lights on your car to be truly classy. The Chrysler Cordoba had them, the Lincoln Continental Town Car had them, the Oldsmobile Toronado had them, and this Sapporo has them. AM/FM stereo radios (or any radio, for that matter) and power remote mirrors were expensive options on most cars in 1978. The 1972 Winter Olympics took place in Sapporo, Japan, so the name had some recognition. Mitsubishi didn't start selling cars under its own badging here until the 1983 model year, and the Galant (sedan only) didn't arrive on these shores until 1985. The interior in this one got pretty well roasted from long-term outdoor parking (apparently in Nebraska, if we are to judge by the 2002 license plate I found inside the car). Mitsubishi expects a massive loss this year due to the coronavirus pandemic

TOKYO — Mitsubishi Motors reported Monday a $1.7 billion (176 billion yen) loss for April-June, and forecast more red ink for the fiscal year, as the coronavirus pandemic slammed auto demand around the world. The Japanese automaker had posted a profit of 9.3 billion yen for the fiscal first quarter the previous year. Quarterly sales shrank 57% to $2.2 billion (229.5 billion yen). The maker of the Outlander sport utility vehicle and I-MiEV electric car expects to chalk up a $3.4 billion (360 billion yen) loss for the fiscal year through March 2021, because of the fallout from the outbreak. This would be MitsubishiÂ’s biggest loss in at least 18 years, according to company financial records dating back to 2002. “To pave the way to recovery, the top priority of all executives is to share a sense of crisis with employees to execute cost reductions,” Chief Executive Takeo Kato told reporters. The shaky results come as Mitsubishi MotorsÂ’ alliance partners Nissan and Renault of France work to recover from the downfall of their former chairman, Carlos Ghosn. Ghosn was out on bail, awaiting trial on various financial misconduct allegations in Tokyo, when he fled late last year to Lebanon. He has said he is innocent of the allegations of under-reporting future compensation and breach of trust. Mitsubishi Motors has denounced Ghosn. Mitsubishi officials, in a news conference relayed in a call to reporters, promised a turnaround, pursuing growth in Southeast Asian markets, where its profitability is relatively strong, and building on its strength in four-wheel drive and “off road performance.” They said they expect the companyÂ’s results to recover next fiscal year, once COVID-19 is brought under control. Product development will leverage “synergies” with alliance partners, and labor costs will be cut through pay cuts, hiring freezes and voluntary retirements, the automaker said. Tokyo-based Mitsubishi also said itÂ’s working on innovative technology, such as improved diesel engines, electric vehicles and autonomous driving. Its electric vehicles are a strength as environmental standards continue to toughen, especially in major markets like China, it said. But it warned the outbreakÂ’s impact on auto demand was worse than what the auto market suffered during the 2008 financial crisis and so a recovery will take time.
