For Sale is a 2011 Mini Cooper Hardtop. This Mini was purchased brand new in 2011 and has been babied ever since. We thought we would need it due to a 30 mile trip to work each day, after being moved the trip is now 4 miles (Hence the very low mileage). This mini has never been wrecked and only suffered a minor ding when a shopping cart hit its back left fender (see pics). I've looked on EBAY and this part is around $100 if you wanted to replace it. This is a fun car if you have never driven a Mini Cooper you are missing out, we actually paid extra for the manual transmission which makes the driving even more enjoyable especially sport mode! If you have never driven a manual this would be a great car to learn with. Also included is a Harmon Kardon sound system  with CD player and MP3 hook up. This Mini has no mechanical issues and is BMW engineering at its finest! All maintenance (including a thermostat recall) has been done by Moritz Mini in Arlington Tx. If you are worried that there is some hidden issue this young Mini is still well under factory Warranty. This Mini has never been smoked in and you will find it is very clean inside and out. I do have a clean title for this Mini so it is ready for a new home. I am not a dealer and will respond to any questions or requests for extra pictures ASAP. This Mini is not being driven so the mileage will stay the same. I will not ship this Mini myself but I will work with any shipping company you choose after payment is received. If I missed anything or you have any questions at all just ask. Thanks

2015 Mini Hardtop 5-Door isn't for the country, man [w/video]

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

We've seen it in super high-res glory, and we can even build one on the automaker's website, but the Paris Motor Show marks the official coming out party for the new Mini Hardtop 4 Door (which is what it's called in the US, despite this Euro car having "5 Door" badging). It's a stretched version of the third-generation Mini Hardtop, but with an extra set of doors for rear seat passengers. Think of it as a more useful Clubman, but with a lower ride height and less rugged-ness than the Countryman. Got it? Good.
Engine options carry over from the normal Mini Hardtop range, with a 1.5-liter turbo-three and a 2.0-liter turbo-four offering 134 and 189 horsepower, respectively. The rest of the car is everything else you know and love from the Mini range, just with a more spacious rear bench. And as you'd expect, there's a nearly endless pallet of customization options.
The Hardtop 4 Door arrives at US dealerships just before the end of the year, commanding a roughly $1,000 premium over its three-door kin. Scope out our new live shots in the gallery above, and take in the extensive press blast, below.

2020 Mini Cooper models see a price jump across the board

Mon, Jul 1 2019

No matter what Mini model you may have had your eyes on, they all get more expensive for the 2020 model year. Most new Minis increase by $1,500, including every version of the 2020 Mini Hardtop (two-door and four-door versions) and the convertible. As such, the cheapest Mini, the 2020 Mini Cooper Hardtop two-door, now starts at $24,250 including destination fees. Pricing for the Clubman and Countryman models varies more. The Clubman actually drops the base non-S version, leaving just the S and and John Cooper Works versions. The S trims jump $2,000, while the John Cooper Works Clubman climbs $3,500. That bigger price increase does also come with a substantial increase in power and torque, going from 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque to 301 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque. The Countryman retains all its models, and most have the $1,500 price increase like the smaller Hardtop and Convertible versions. The exceptions are the Cooper S E Countryman plug-in hybrid, which only increases by $1,000, and the John Cooper Works which jumps $3,600. The hybrid gets a bigger battery, going from 7.6 kWh to 9.6, bringing electric-only range up 4 miles to 16, and the John Cooper Works Countryman gets the same 301-horsepower engine as the Clubman. Aside from the John Cooper Works and hybrid drivetrain upgrades, there aren't many other major changes to the Mini lineup. All Minis now get a group of driver assist features called "Active Driving Assistant," which includes adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beams and automatic emergency braking. Also, the six-speed automatic available on Cooper and Cooper S models is now being replaced with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. For the full breakdown of prices, check out the chart below.

Judge to approve settlement of Mini CVT lawsuits

Sun, 25 Aug 2013

BMW has agreed to settle a number of class-action lawsuits out of court. The suits stem from drivetrain issues on the 2001 to 2006 R50 Mini Cooper - in particular, its continuously variable transmission. The transmission was known to fail, often without warning on otherwise healthy and well-maintained vehicles. This wasn't the only major issue to afflict the original BMW-era Mini models.
According to legal site Topclassactions.com, the suits alleged that BMW knowingly hid the defects in the CVT from customers while informing dealers of the issue. The first suit was filed in 2011, while four additional suits have followed. Now, BMW has reportedly settled, offering to reimburse 1,200 owners that needed repairs within eight years or 150,000 miles of their purchase. Repair prices for the transmission range from $6,000 to $9,000.
Under the agreement, BMW will also offer up to $4,100 to members of the suit that had fixes performed at a third-party shop, while owners who sold their cars at a loss due to the issues are slated to receive up to $2,000. Finally, owners who are part of the suit will be warrantied for a further eight years and 150,000 miles.
