Still looking for a great used Mini-Cooper?? Look no more! For sale,
excellent condition, very low mileage 2008 Mini-Cooper S with unique red
leather interior. Vehicle has 37000 miles on it. Clean Car-Fax. (Copy
available upon request.) I originally bought this car in Winchester VA in 2011 as a commuter car,
but due to a career change, moved to Syracuse NY, and it is no longer needed. I am the second owner.Vehicle has been in
garage storage in NY and was not driven in winter. I have a Ford Pickup for winter. It has never seen snow since I purchased it.
The Cooper S is extremely fast, fun, and fuel efficient to drive. If you have never driven one, it is like you are riding on rails. It corners like a Go-Cart and is very fun to drive. Excellent gas mileage.(low-mid 30's MPG depending on how much you hit it) Its red
leather interior is sporty, and very clean. The red interior is a rare find
and adds to the vintage look of this car!! A rare find! If you look at other Minis ,they nearly all have Dark Gray, very few have red.
Similar models are selling from $17,500 - $18,000 without unique interior and with 15K +
more miles. Don't take my word for it, check for yourself. My car has 37,000 miles, less than most cars that are 2-3 yrs old. This car new lists for 33K. It has less than 1000 miles on it since last fall when it was inspected in NYS. It is on the road currently .
This car has the Sport mode and handles like a race car. All the bells and
whistles you'd expect from BMW (who makes Minis). If you are looking for a great quality used Mini, you
won't be disappointed. You can go to a dealer and pay $2000-2500 more for them to detail it for you or buy it from a Retired Army Guy who took great care of it. Your call.
Non smoker, never was smoked in ever. No pets either.
I have set a Buy it now at $15,500 and the reserve is very close to that. I also have this car listed locally and will end the auction when I get my buy it now price. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me . I will also send any additional photos within reason. This is a great car, but it is 5 yrs. old. It has a few minor cosmetic blemishes, as you would expect, but nothing noticeable from a few feet away. This is a great commuter or car for your college student. I am 54 and I got looks and comments everywhere with it.

Longer, wider, still a Mini | 2017 Mini Countryman First Drive
Fri, Mar 17 2017Think of the 2017 Mini Countryman as the brand's "ah, to hell with it" moment. At a whopping 8.1 inches longer and 5.4 inches wider than the vehicle it replaces, it is quite obviously the least-mini Mini ever. Yet, that size increase makes it more useful, comfortable riding, and better proportioned. If a compact crossover SUV is what's to be, then this is the size it should be. However, it's still quite mini for a compact SUV, coming in at 3 inches shorter than the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class and 4 inches shorter than an Audi Q3. Neither of those are what anyone would describe as "large." And yet, the Countryman boasts a considerably more spacious and usable interior than either of them. Sit in the new Countryman's back seat and you'll be amazed at the space, with plenty of leg- and headroom for even tall people despite a standard panoramic sunroof. Crossovers of similar exterior dimensions, luxury or otherwise, just don't come close to providing as much passenger space. The cargo area isn't quite as impressive on paper, but its boxy shape and the sliding second-row seat make it far more versatile in practice. So, despite being the least-mini Mini ever, the new Countryman is still in keeping with the brand's ethos from the very beginning when Alec Issigonis created a car that was microscopic on the outside but disproportionately spacious inside. There's far more to this redesign than just dimensional changes – the 2017 Countryman grows up figuratively as well. The original model always felt like a Mini Cooper hardtop that ballooned in size and door count. Compared to SUVs of similar price, and more damningly of lesser price, it was crashy, loud, a bit cheap inside, and relatively uncouth. The base model was also embarrassingly slow. The new version feels more like a proper compact luxury SUV flavored with a robust Salt Bae of Mini spice. Actually, that's pretty much what it is. The Countryman now shares its front-wheel-drive platform with the new BMW X1, which itself benefits from various trickle-down elements from elsewhere in the BMW Group. For instance, processes developed for the 7 Series are in part responsible for the new, stiffer structure that contributes greatly to the 2017 Countryman's other great advancement: the exponentially better ride. The old one harshly crashed over bumps in a way that only Fred Flintstone wouldn't find tiresome.
Mini bringing new 230-hp John Cooper Works to Detroit
Mon, 07 Jul 2014
Mini models may keep getting incrementally bigger, but then so do their engines. Or more powerful, anyway - especially when it comes to the John Cooper Works performance models. The JCW version of the first (post-revival) generation R50, which was really more of an upgraded Cooper S than its own model, packed a 1.6-liter supercharged four with 200 horsepower. The following R56 JCW upped that incrementally to 208 hp, but the next Works hatchback is now rumored to pack around 230 horses.
Tipped to be revealed in both three- and five-door body-styles at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show half a year from now, the F56-gen Mini John Cooper Works hatchback is expected to use the same 2.0-liter turbo four as the new Mini Cooper S, but increasing the output from 189 hp to approximately 230. That would mean it would be more powerful than either of the two previous John Cooper Works GP editions to make the new JCW the most powerful road-going Mini to date, backed by 285 pound-feet of torque driving through a six-speed manual or available automatic transmission to deliver what promises to be a blistering pace for the latest retro hatchback.
BMW's Mini plant closes for 4 weeks for the Brexit that didn't happen
Mon, Apr 1 2019LONDON — BMW's Mini plant in Britain is closing for four weeks starting Monday in a move planned over a half year ago to help the company deal with any disruption resulting from Brexit, which has since been delayed. The German carmaker, which builds just over 15 percent of Britain's 1.5 million cars, moved its annual summertime shutdown to April to "minimize the risk of any possible short-term parts-supply disruption in the event of a no-deal Brexit." But Britain's departure from the EU has now been pushed back from March 29 until at least April 12 or potentially much later, scuppering the timing of major contingency plans for some carmakers. Shutdowns are organized far in advance so employee holidays can be scheduled and suppliers can adjust volumes, making them hard to move. "This is what our company and our workforce have planned for over many months, and it is fixed into our business planning," said a BMW spokesman. It represents the latest headache for Britain's once roaring car sector which had been on track for record production but since 2017 has posted sharp falls in sales, output and investment. The overwhelmingly foreign-owned industry has become increasingly incredulous as a stable and attractive investment environment descends into one of its deepest political crises, risking the free and frictionless trade the sector relies on. BMW's Rolls-Royce factory in Goodwood will close for two weeks whilst Jaguar Land Rover's (JLR) three car plants and engine facility and Honda's Swindon facility will also shut for a few days this month as part of Brexit contingencies. It has been a turbulent few months for the sector after Nissan canceled plans to build a new sport utility vehicle at its English Sunderland plant and Honda said it would shutter its plant in 2021 in the biggest blow to the sector for years. Toyota provided a rare boost when it announced plans to build cars for Suzuki at its English car plant. BMW, which is also closing its central English Hams Hall engine facility and Swindon press shop and sub-assembly site for four weeks, has said it could move some engine and Mini output out of Britain if there is not an orderly Brexit. Carmakers face a number of risks if there is a disorderly Brexit, including delays to the supply of ports and finished models, new customs bureaucracy, the need to recertify models and an up to 10 percent tariff on finished vehicles.
