I'm pleased to offer this Lightning Blue 2008 Mini Cooper for sale, on behalf of a close friend of mine who is the original owner. This Mini has always been dealer serviced since new, and all records of maintenance and repairs are included, as well as the two factory keys and the original window sticker. This car has always been garage-kept and driven in temperate west-coast weather. It has only seen snow once or twice, early in its life when the owner still lived in the Seattle area. Full disclosure: I've been in, out and around this vehicle and have mentioned any (minor) flaws below in my condition description. I believe in transparency when it comes to representing a vehicle.

The exterior and interior of this vehicle are in excellent shape. I feel the pictures don't do the car justice. It shines quite nicely in the sun and there are no signs of fading or mismatched paint. All body panels align correctly and are in good nick, straight and clean. There is one door ding on the passenger side, and two dings from road debris on the bonnet. I really can't think of any other flaws. Aside from that, the car shows quite well.

The interior is neat and clean as the day it rolled off the showroom floor. This car has never been smoked in and does not have any stains or odor present. The headliner, seats, dash and carpet all look fantastic. The only flaw inside is a 1.5 inch small separation on the seat bottom, which can only be noticed if you're really searching for it.

This car runs, drives, steers and stops as it should. There are no warning lights or items that need repair on this car. Push the start button and go. This Mini handles fantastic and tracks straight. I've put about 150 highway miles on the car while storing it. (I like to know the car I'm selling - also its a great excuse to drive this fun car!)

This vehicle is well optioned, and includes items such as:
Convenience Package
-Multi-function leather steering wheel
-Universal Garage Opener
-Comfort Access System
-Auto dimming mirror
-Center Armrest
-Rain Sensor & Automatic Lights
-Bluetooth & USB/iPod
Cold Weather Package
-Power Folding Mirrors
-Heated Mirrors & Washer Jets
-Heated Front Seats
Navigation System
Premium Headliner
Chrome Line Exterior Package
Anti-theft System
Automatic Air Conditioning
Fog Lamps

Included with the car is a compilation of dealer service receipts, the original window sticker, and two factory smart key/fobs.

Other info:
The vehicle did have an oil service recently, along with a full detail. It could use a set of tires in the next few months.
This vehicle has had an accident in 2011, but was professionally repaired correctly. Receipts of bodywork from the Mini & Insurance-recommended shop are included with the car. The car carries a clean title and there is no evidence of that damage or the repair, but I do like to be up front and honest.

As with any used car, there are minor signs of road use. However, this car is in excellent overall shape inside and out. You must see it to truly appreciate it. This car does not carry any factory warranty, and is sold "AS-IS". Please, serious buyers only, as I do not have the time to re-list.

Book values dictate this car to be worth $12,361 in "Excellent" condition, $11900 for "Good". Reserve is near KBB value for "Fair" condition, as I'm a motivated seller. Serious local inquiries can call or text me for an appointment to see & drive. (609) 276-9843

The car is located in San Francisco, California, and must be picked up within the Bay Area. I may be able to meet or help deliver the car if you're within the Bay Area, and could pick you up at the airport if need be.

Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding!

Get lost in Evo's sublime 2013 Car of the Year testing

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

Every year Evo stages its Car of the Year test, bringing the best performance cars in the world to one location for an epic shootout. This year the magazine pitted eight CotY finalists against each other on Route Napoleon in Southern France - Evo claims it's the "best road in the world" - and then proceeded to nitpick the smallest of faults on each car until the winner could be named. You see, this year's lineup of machines was just so good that only one car obviously wasn't CotY material from the get-go. Can you guess which one judging from the list below?
- Aston Martin V12 Vantage S
- Audi R8 V10 Plus

The 2017 Porsche 911 RSR goes mid-engine, purists be damned

Wed, Nov 16 2016

Porsche unveiled its World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech Championship competitor with the 2017 911 RSR. And this 911 is different from the rest, as the 4.0-liter flat-six engine powering this beast is in front of the rear axle, not behind it. That's right, this 24 Hours of Le Mans competitor ditches the iconic rear-engine layout. Porsche isn't talking specifics on how exactly things are arranged back there. The engine is new, now based on the 991 911's block instead of the previous Mezger motor that's been used for years. The transmission design is new as well – it would have to be to accommodate the new location relative to the engine. The racecar has been engineered to meet the LM-GTE class, where it will go up against other mid-engine cars like the Ford GT and Ferrari 488 GTE. Moving the engine to the middle has given Porsche the ability to fit the 911 RSR with massive bits of aero, like the humongous rear diffuser that looks like it would be more at home on a machine of war. The only thing that can compete with the diffuser for size is the top-mounted rear wing, which shares a similar design to the one found on the 919 Hybrid. Going back to the engine, the direct-injected boxer motor, depending on the size of the restrictor, generates as much as 510 horsepower and sends all of its fury to the rear wheels. The engine is paired to a six-speed sequential gearbox, which drivers can employ through paddles on the steering wheel. The new engine doesn't have a lot of weight to push around as the 911 RSR, as required by regulations, weighs 2,740 pounds. Speaking of weight, the engine layout isn't the only change for the 911 RSR. For 2017, the car ditches its steel body for one that's made out of carbon fiber. The body attaches to the chassis via quick-release fasteners, making the vehicle easier to service as exterior elements can be removed with minimal effort. The racecar also gets a radar-based collision system – aptly named the "Collision Avoid System" – which is meant to limit the 911 RSR's encounters with faster LMP prototypes. Only time will tell if the new layout and aerodynamic components help the 911 RSR beat its competition. But there will be plenty of opportunities to see the racecar in action as Porsche plans to run the 911 RSR in 19 races during the 2017 season, the first of which will take place at the IMSA opener on January 28th at Daytona, where the racecar will make its track day debut.

In this week's Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski and Assistant Editor Zac Palmer. They kick things off by talking about recent news, including the revival of the Hummer name as an electric pickup, revealing Ford Bronco spy shots and the unveiling of the 2021 GMC Yukon. Then Zac tells about his time in Las Vegas attending CES 2020. They talk about the cars they've been driving: a JCW-tuned Mini Clubman, the long-term Subaru Forester with its new gold wheels, a Volvo S60 PHEV that's been added to the long-term fleet, and a Camry Hybrid. Last, but not least, they help a listener decide how to spend his money on a sports car.
