THE CAR IS FUN AS HELL TO DRIVE, IT HAS SOME DECENT ACCELERATION AND SPEED, I HAVE DRIVEN IT OVER 100 AND THE RPMS ARE LOW ONLY 3100, NO SHAKES VERY SOLID CAR. IT HUGS THE ROAD EXTREMELY WELL, NOT TO MENTION HOW YOU CAN CHANGE LANES IN TIGHT SPOTS THAT OTHER CARS DON'T FIT. RECENTLY WORK DONE WITHIN THE LAST 18 MONTHS, TRANSMISSION FLUID FLUSH, THE SYSTEM IS TOTALLY SEALED AT THE FACTORY, THERE IS NO TRANSMISSION DIP STICK, I HAD ALL THREE TRANSMISSION SOLENOIDS CHANGED THEY ARE THE COMPUTERS THAT RUN THE TRANSMISSION, I HAD THE COOLANT SYSTEM FLUSHED, OIL CHANGED WITH SYNTHETIC OIL ALWAYS, NEW BATTERY, AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR RECHAREGED, NEW BRAKE PADS ALL AROUND, REAR NEW CERAMIC DISC ROTORS, TIRES HAVE GOOD RUBBER ON THEM, FUEL INJECTORS PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED, NEW AIR FILTER, COMPUTER WHEEL ALIGNMENT, OXYGEN SENSOR, THE REAR THIRD BRAKE LIGHT IS NEW IT IS LED NO BULBS HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE UNIT, TUNE UP. ACCIDENT FREE, AND I HAD THE WINDOWS TINTED THE BLACK INTERIOR WAS ROASTING HOT UNTIL I HAD THE TINT INSTALLED NOW ITS KOOL... I PURCHASED THIS CAR THREE YEARS AGO ON EBAY FROM AN OWNER THAT RESIDED IN WASHINGTON STATE, THE VEHICLE HAD ONLY 24,000 MILES ON IT, IT WAS A SECOND CAR FOR HIM, I HAD IT SHIPPED AND LOVED IT EVER SINCE. Upcoming Mini 5-door hatch spied in the snow
Mon, 17 Feb 2014We are about to get a flood of new Mini models now that the new 2014 model is officially out. In just the past few months, we've seen spy shots of the next-generation John Cooper Works and so-called Traveler crossover, and here we have the upcoming five-door hatchback in Cooper S form, a model that, like the Traveler, is expected to effectively obviate the need for the slow-selling Clubman.
Mini is not exactly hiding that this is a new five-door model, even with its camouflage - the rear door line and handle are clear as day. Also, compared to the three-door Cooper Hardtop, there appears to be an added pillar and additional length at the rear. The hatch also appears to be mounted at a steeper angle than the standard Mini. Also, you have to admit that the Mickey-Mouse-ear fog lights are cute, even if Mini would never actually sell it that way.
Expect to see even more variants soon, if BMW and Mini want to reach their goal of selling over a million front-wheel drive vehicles - an earlier report indicated there could be as many as 23 front-wheel drive cars from the brands in the coming years.
2013 Mini Cooper S Paceman All4
Thu, 14 Feb 2013In just over a decade, Mini has expanded its modern range from the singular Hardtop model (launched in 2002) to a full range of little runabouts. The latest of these is the Paceman, and while European Editor Matt Davis gave us the full scoop on this model late last year, we recently spent time with the all-wheel-drive model just outside of Ponce, Puerto Rico.
It's weird, this Paceman. It slots in between the Hardtop and the Countryman (on which its based) in terms of size and functionality, and Mini says that it will appeal to a more style-conscious shopper. Key competitors range anywhere from the Nissan Juke on the low end to the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque on the high end.
After spending lots of time with the Countryman, we're convinced that maxi can still be Mini. And the same is true with this Paceman, too.
Mini Countryman spied looking less and less Mini
Mon, Sep 12 2016As the entire Mini lineup continues to grow in size, our latest spy shots for the upcoming Mini Countryman testing in Germany reveals the automaker's biggest car will stick to the trend of increasing semantic contradiction. This latest prototype drops some of its camouflage over the previously spied model that was spotted testing in the winter. Unlike the last test mule we saw, the disguised vehicle ditches the hexagonal grille for one that mimics the current model's design with a more traditional layout. The prototype also loses the sporty, multi-spoke wheels for a more boring, plastic-like set. The side and back end of the vehicle are heavily camouflaged, hiding the rear design of the prototype. But Mini's iconic taillights are still evident with the most current prototype only having one exhaust outlet, while the previously spotted model sported two. As expected, the next-gen Countryman should grow longer and wider. The increase in size will coincide with a switch to BMW's UKL2 platform. We also expect the Countryman to share the same three- and four-cylinder turbocharged engine options as vehicles on the same platform, namely the Mini Clubman and BMW X1. This prototype, with its low-end wheels and single exhaust outlet has us thinking that Mini is testing out one of its more fuel-efficient models. After the Countryman's debut, which is expected to happen at the Paris Motor Show in October, a performance-oriented John Cooper Works model and a plug-in hybrid variant should follow suit.
