2006 Mini Cooper S This auction is for a 2006 Mini Cooper S. It is offered for sale by a private seller in Charleston, West Virginia. Please read the entire description and feel free to ask any specific questions you may have, I'm happy to take calls and emails at any time. This is a neighbor's vehicle, I have listed it on his behalf. I've listed and sold several vehicles of mine over the years and always had a good experience. I'm not a dealer but an enthusiast, it's the only reason I listed this one for him; it has a great story and is a unique piece. I've started the bidding at a low price so everyone has a chance to get in and the reserve is extremely reasonable. Thanks for looking and enjoy the auction. Every car has a story and this one is amazing! This car was purchased from Hendrick MINI in Charlotte, NC on 12/01/2006. The original window sticker is intact. It was then driven to Charleston, WV where it has spent it's entire life in a garage being driven regularly a few miels at a time to keep the fluids and systems in operation. The owner had plans to retire and travel out west in his motor home and tow his Triumph TR6 for some fun driving experiences. Upon further consideration; he decided that constantly repairing a Triumph whilst on the open road might not be a good idea. So, he purchased the Mini; still British (somewhat) and still a fun drive. Needless to say, the recession hit and all plans were off. The motor home was sold and retirement put on hold. The Mini was garaged next to the Triumph and thus is the story. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION EXTERIOR This car's white paint is as glossy as it was the day it rolled off the assembly floor. As I stated earlier, the vehicle has never even been in rain or snow. There is one rock chip on the front passenger side near the headlamp and two small scratches on the front bumper (see pictures) from something bumping it in the garage. Other than that, it's perfect. The glass is all original and in perfect condition. The wheels are in perfect shape. INTERIOR The black leather (yes, real leather, $1,700 option) interior is in perfect condition as well. The rear seats were never sat in and the passenger seat has carried a passenger maybe a total of 20 miles. No scuffs or scratches here either. All controls are functional and operational. Everything is as it should be. ENGINE / TRANSMISSION The engine and transmission are in like new condition. The car starts, runs and drives as it should. With this kind of mileage you are not going to experience any problems here. WHEELS / TIRES The 17" wheels and tires are exactly as nice as they appear in the pictures. The tires are original and obviously, only have 1,600 miles on them. EXTRAS & ADD ONS English Panther Black Leather $1,700.00 Combo #1 $1,400.00 Multifunction Steering Wheel with Cruise Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof Automatic Air Conditioning On-Board Computer Combo #2 $1,900.00 Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) Front Fog Lamps 17" Alloy Wheels S-Lite / Performance Run-flat Tires Bonnet Stripes Xenon Headlights with powerwash Limited Slip $500.00 Chrome Line Interior $200.00 Center Armrest $200.00 Harman Kardon Sound System $550.00 PLEASE FEEL FREE TO INQUIRE AS TO THE SPECIFICS OF THE COMBO PACKAGES OR REQUEST A COPY OF THE WINDOW STICKER. That's about all I can say for the car. I wish there were more to tell you but it's just that nice. There's nothing to document damage wise on the car. I have a CARFAX in hand and am willing to email it to anyone who wants a copy. Again, please feel free to call or email with any questions whatsoever. THE DETAILS Please review the entire listing before bidding. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. Please have payment and or financing arranged before bidding. No trades are accepted. An initial deposit is not required but immediate communication is. We can hold the car until you make arrangements to pick it up but not long term. We're looking to conduct a smooth transaction where both parties are satisfied. Rest assured, should you get here and the car is not as described, you don't own it, we'll cancel the transaction. I'm willing to work with anyone on any aspect of the purchase, just ask before so we can get it worked out quick and smooth, my time is limited. Thank you for your time and interest. Good luck. PLEASE DIRECT ALL INQUIRIES TO: JOHN @ 304-444-6907 OR HIT THE ASK A QUESTION TAB AT THE TOP OF THE LISTING.

Guerlain Chicherit going for world record for longest car jump
Fri, 14 Mar 2014Does the name Guerlain Chicherit ring any bells? It definitely should if you're into competitive skiing, as he was crowned world champion in off-trail freeriding four times. But he's also a rally driver, winning the FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup in 2009 and even a stage of the Dakar Rally the following year. What really set him apart, though, was when he back-flipped a Mini Countryman rally car to set a world record last year. And now he's after another.
This time he's going after the world record for the longest ramp jump in a car. The record currently belongs to Tanner Foust at 332 feet, but Chicherit plans to break it by a good thirty more with a targeted distance of 360 feet.
He'll be using the Mini once again, sponsored by Monster Energy and Toyo Tires, and specially modified for the endeavor which he plans to undertake this Sunday under the auspices of Guinness World Record officials. We'll be watching to see how it all goes down.
2016 Mini Cooper S Convertible First Drive
Fri, Feb 19 2016Is there a better place to launch a roofless Mini than Los Angeles in the middle of winter? Temperatures during the drive event for the new 2016 Mini Cooper S Convertible hovered in the mid-80s, and (a begrudging thanks to CARB here) there was only a thin haze to attenuate the sun. Moreover, the sprawled-out and uniquely Californian metropolis doesn't seem to hem in the longer, broader, ever so slightly taller Convertible. Even if you don't necessarily enjoy vehicles that inherently make a statement, driving a Cooper S Convertible around this style-conscious town at least attunes your sensibilities to the Mini norm. Since there isn't much mechanically or stylistically to differentiate the new Convertible from its Hardtop fraternal twin, we can cover the basics quickly. The exterior sheetmetal is, for better or worse, not much different. That means the large proboscis – a nod to pedestrian impact standards and a variety of other engineering and safety concerns – and longer rear overhang carry over. The jutting underbite and slightly walleyed headlight stance exaggerate how bulbous the front end has become with each subsequent generation. Taken in isolation, the Mini Convertible is still undeniably cute, but the English bulldog vibe is slowly being pushed out of the corporate design language as each new Mini is gently inflated. At some point, we'll hit the bursting point. The Mini Convertible is still undeniably cute, but the English bulldog vibe is slowly being pushed out of the corporate design language. Even in the space-compromised Mini Convertible, total cargo area increases by 25 percent to a useful 7.6 cubic feet maximum. The Easy-Load function, which props up the back edge of the soft top on a pair of spindly plastic struts, is a bit fussy but helps get awkward items in and out of the surprisingly deep cargo area. Smaller or soft luggage should go in without issue. Larger items might be better suited for the back seat. If you're buying a four-seat convertible, you should be prepared for these compromises ahead of time. Speaking of time, the top's operation is reasonably quick. It takes 18 seconds to raise or lower the top, at up to 18 mph. It was fast enough for a stoplight change to test out the situation with the lid on. If you've ever been in a last-generation Mini 'Vert, it's about the same – big blind spots mar the view, but it's remarkably quiet.
Mini Traveller MPV caught on flatbed with five-door Mini and convertible
Fri, 15 Nov 2013With the next-gen Mini Cooper hardtop set for its big debut next week at the LA Auto Show, we're getting a good look at what will be coming next for the BMW brand. Mini will follow up the introduction of the Mini Cooper with the new convertible model, but our spy shooters have proof that a plus-sized model (rumored to be called Traveller or Spacebox) is coming along quite well.
There still isn't much information about the Traveller (shown above), which will be longer and wider than the Countryman, but we can tell that it takes dimensional cues from both the Countryman and Clubman to maximize passenger and cargo space. The face of this new model will definitely be closer to the 2015 Cooper, and it will have a split rear door setup like the Clubman. Like the more recent Countryman and Paceman designs, though, the Traveller will have horizontally positioned taillights instead of the Cooper's vertical lights. We have no indication as to when we'll be seeing the Traveller in production form, but this prototype seems to be in the final stages of development.
As for the Cooper, we've already spied the hardtop completely uncovered, and just recently we spotted the sportier Cooper S Convertible being transported on a flatbed. The dual center-outlet exhaust is the key tell that model was the S, which likely means that the droptop spotted here the base model.
