This is a very rare Mini R53.

The Mini was driven through one winter and sees rain only once or twice per year. Garaged for winters.

Paint has been maintained using only Prima polishes and sealants. Mini has never seen a touch car wash.

Rare British Racing Green body and roof without a sunroof (saves weight and lowers the center of gravity)

Super rare R95 John Cooper Works Star Spoke Alloy Wheels (18-inches) shod with Hankook Ventus R-S2 summer tires.

Factory options include:
  • Leather seats
  • Fog lights
  • Dynamic Stability Control
  • Backup sensors
  • Xenon self-leveling headlights
  • Harman Kardon stereo upgrade with XM satellite radio.
  • Extra volt and oil temperature gauges

I have added a few things that have improved the performance of the Mini, turning this into a real driving machine.
  • Ireland Engineering Fixed Camber Plates for immediate turn-in (sale includes stock camber plates)
  • M7 Strut Brace with strut plates to prevent strut tower mushrooming
  • H-Sport adjustable 25.5 mm rear sway bar
  • H-Sport adjustable 27 mm front sway bar
  • Ireland Engineering stainless steel brake lines
  • Alta cold air intake
  • TSW Engine Mount
  • Clear bra on the front and review mirrors
  • Windows tinted as dark as Massachusetts law will allow (small tear in bottom right corner of rear window)
All services records since September 2008 are available. The car has never been in an accident and has been meticulously maintained.

Buyer is responsible for shipping, through I can deliver if within a reasonable driving distance. A non-refundable $500 deposit is due at the time of purchase with remaining balance due within seven days. This vehicle does have a lien on it from my credit union, but the title will be handed over at the time of payment.

I honestly do not want to sell this car but life circumstances have lead me to post it here. If you can find a better R53, then buy it. But if you can not, and have any additional questions, feel free to write me here and I will get back to you. Include a phone number if you would like a call back to discuss.

2018 Mini Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 Drivers' Notes Review | Plug and play

Fri, Feb 16 2018

The second-generation Mini Countryman debuted at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. In addition to the standard and S models, Mini added a new E Countryman plug-in hybrid model. That's what we have here, making our model's full name the Mini Cooper S E Countryman ALL4. It's distinguishable from other models by the green badges on the front and rear and on the charging port on the fender. There are a few changes inside, most notably a power gauge in place of the tachometer. The plug-in model combines a turbo inline-three cylinder engine with a 7.6-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The gas engine motivates the front wheels while two electric motors power the rear. Three drive modes — Max eDrive, Auto eDrive and Save — adjust the amount of battery pack usage, with Max using all battery and Save mode using the starter generator to keep the battery charge above 90 percent. The biggest Mini (for what that's worth) is still far smaller than nearly every other crossover in its class. It's three inches shorter than a Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class and four inches shy of an Audi Q3. As compact as it is, there's still a good bit of usable cargo space thanks to the wide hatch and flat-folding seats. Our tester rang up for exactly $40,000 and includes features like 18-inch wheels, keyless entry and ignition, Cooper S heated sport seats, a heads-up display and LED lighting. Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore: The only thing I don't like about this electrified Mini is its name: Mini Cooper S E Countryman ALL 4. That's a mouthful. You'd probably just say you bought a plug-in electric Mini Countryman and roll from there. And why would you spend time overthinking the name? The driving dynamics are razor sharp. Launches from stoplights with the electric fortification are brisk. Not in a cliched "this V6 Camry feels brisk" sort of way, but in a 29-degree February morning where the dog is walking too slow kind of way. I give Mini and its parent, BMW Group, a lot of credit for having the foresight to invest in electrification, adding performance and efficiency in a manner that's true to the character of Mini. Then there's the traditional Mini goodness that shines through in the cornering and handling. I'm late for work. The light turns yellow. Am I stopping? Oh hell no. I'm not even slowing down. In this and all Minis, taking corners at full steam is expected.

Mini pokes fun at Anthony Weiner using fake Twitter account

Sun, 28 Jul 2013

Mini, never one to pass on a marketing opportunity, has pounced on the plight of embattled New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner, who seems to have an issue with sending pictures of his genitals to young women. Observers will notice that this is the second time the unfortunately named Mr. Weiner has been in the spotlight for his picture messages.
Capitalizing on Weiner's alias, Carlos Danger, Mini has created an account on Twitter - @CarlosDMotor. With a note on the profile page listing "Danger" as the account's middle name, it's sent out just one tweet, containing the message, "Wanna get your hands on my stick?" Attached to the Tweet is a scantily clad Mini Cooper S, with a towel around its "waist" snapping a picture. Too soon? To borrow the brilliant pun from AdWeek, the "auto erotica" was the idea of Mini's marketing agency Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners. Click below for the full tweet.

Mini exiting WRC after just one year

Fri, 12 Oct 2012

There was a fair bit of hullabaloo two years ago when Mini announced a return to the World Rally Championship for this season, but the road to making that happen has been as rocky as a gravel stage. It spent 2011 developing its JCW Countryman WRC challenger, changing its mind about how it wanted to work with Prodrive, dumped a driver due to budget issues, then registering its entry after the deadline had passed in a ploy that might or might not have been a protest aimed at the WRC promoter.
Mini had stated that it wanted to win the whole championship in 2013, and spent 2011 doing six WRC rounds as development. As it stands for this year, the WRC Team Mini Portugal - paid for by Mini, run by ProDrive - scored 26 points in the first rally at Monte Carlo and has so far blanked the rest of the season. The relationship between Mini and ProDrive appeared to be an ever-contentious affair, at the end of this season, even the money will dry up along with what support there was.
Because it contested every race in the calendar, though, Mini says it has completed the FIA requirements for homologation of the JCW Countryman WRC; meaning that privateers can continue purchasing the car and run it in the WRC. BMW Motorsport is continuing development and parts supply of the 1.6-liter turbo engine, and a report in Autosport indicates that ProDrive will continue to run Minis in the series next year.
