2003 Mini Cooper - Solid Gold - Automatic - Low Miles - Loaded on 2040-cars
Northfield, New Jersey, United States
I am selling my 2003 MINI Cooper. I am the original (non-smoking) owner - I custom ordered it in 2003. It's in excellent condition (the rear seats have accommodated maybe 2 rear ends over the life of the vehicle) with only (approx.) 60,250 miles and it has been garage-housed. It's Solid Gold with Black Leatherette Seats and Anthracite Dash with Automatic CVT transmission. It has checkered mirror caps currently, though the MINI originally had black mirror caps which will be included in the sale. Also, the gas door is chrome which was only available on 'S' models at the time, but I switched it for the chrome. Please see the picture of the window sticker for full option details but it has the three main packages available at the time of order...Premium, Cold Weather, and Sport, which include... Panoramic sunroof Automatic climate control Heated seats Heated wiper jets and heated mirrors Front and rear fog lights (some Coopers have missing toggles in the row of toggles in the dash - this has all the toggles - no wondering "hmm, I wonder what option I COULD have gotten that would fill that unsightly empty spot") Dynamic Stability Control Sport seats Auto-dimming rear view mirror Rain sensing wipers Cruise control Add-on cup holder to accommodate larger cups and bottles Aux-input - there's an aux 1/8" audio input in the glove box if you prefer to directly connect audio Also, I have added a GROM Bluetooth module which allows for bluetooth phone use and streaming bluetooth audio through the built-in radio, as well as supplying a usb port for charging your phone, and an additional 1/8" aux input. Drives just fine and regularly serviced with no mechanical issues. Two keys, a valet key, and original manuals all included. If you are looking for a well-maintained, option-loaded preowned vehicle with low mileage, this is the car for you. Buy from a dealer and you have no idea what you're getting. I have a complete maintenance history available, and all service was done at my MINI dealership. Brake pads, rotors and sensors were replaced in January of 2012 at 47,400 miles Brake fluid was last done in Dec. of 2012 at 55,800 miles Oil service was last done in January of 2013 at 56,300 miles. Only synthetic oil has been used. Battery was just replaced this week. The auto check report lists a possible lien on the car, however I have the title in hand and the auto loan was fully paid off in 2009. I've included the KBB and Edmunds value for your reference. Note that the Edmunds value did not have an option for automatic transmission in their calculator. I am not interested in trades or selling at a "wholesale" price. I'm selling only because we have a new MINI in the driveway. The MINI is parked in Northfield, NJ at the corner of Banning Avenue and New Road if you want to stop by and inspect it in person. I strongly encourage all bidders to inspect the car in person before bidding. |

Mini battling sales slump again, is it becoming cliche?
Tue, 11 Nov 2014Things aren't looking good for Mini this year. The diminutive BMW brand has shown falling sales every month in 2014 in our By the Numbers wrap-ups. If that weren't bad enough, the latest Cooper Hardtop suffered fuel economy issues upon arriving to the US. First, there was a delay getting some versions certified, and then several models had to have their miles-per-gallon ratings revised.
According to Automotive News, the brand's sales are down about 20 percent for the year through October, despite hitting a record 66,502 vehicles in the US for 2013. For their part, Mini execs attribute much of that drop due to constricted supply. However, with the new-generation three-door Cooper finally on sale and the five-door coming at the end of the year, there might be room to bounce back some in the final months of 2014. "We are starting to claw back our way a little bit. It will be an uphill battle," said David Duncan, vice president of Mini of the Americas, to Automotive News. "We will not get back to where we would be even year over year. It should be a lower decrease than it is so far."
AutoTrader Senior Analyst Michelle Krebs reminds Autoblog that external factors aren't helping the brand's sales either. For one, there's "a direct correlation exists between falling gas prices and lower small car sales," she said, and the average price per gallon is now $2.94, according to the US Energy Information Administration. Also, the booming popularity of small crossovers is eating into the compact car market. Mini has its Countryman model, but the trend could be hurting the rest of its lineup. "Mini was fresh, new, unique and stylish, but fashions change and fashion-conscious buyers are fickle. They move on to the next thing," Krebs said.
BMW's DTM champ swaps rides with Mini's Dakar winner
Tue, May 5 2015BMW may not race in F1 any longer, and it doesn't compete with Audi and Porsche in the LMP1 class at Le Mans. It even shut down Mini's short-lived effort on the World Rally Championship. But that doesn't mean it doesn't race at all. In fact it's the current reigning champion both in DTM and at Dakar. So to highlight its varied motorsport programs, the German automaker had two of its top drivers swap rides. German driver Martin Tomczyk, who won the DTM title in 2011 and now drives for BMW, took to Nasser Al-Attiyah's Mini All4Racing Countryman on the sand dunes of Dubai. Meanwhile the Qatari driver, who has won the Dakar Rally two times now, took to the wheel of Tomczyk's BMW M4 DTM around Oschersleben in Germany. They even repeated the game of musical chairs at Hockenheim over the weekend. If anything, the promo clip shot by Red Bull just goes to show how different the varied racing machinery can be, and the challenges posed to racing drivers switching between disciplines. But lessons aside, it's a cool clip, so check it out above. Two champions swap cockpits: Martin Tomczyk drives the MINI ALL4 Racing, Nasser Al-Attiyah the BMW M4 DTM. Munich (DE), 1st May 2015. From asphalt to sand and back again: BMW DTM driver Martin Tomczyk (DE) and MINI ALL4 Racing ace Nasser Al-Attiyah (QA) both entered unfamiliar territory and took each other's cars for a test drive. As part of a video shoot for BMW Motorsport Premium Partner Red Bull in Dubai (AE), Tomczyk, a proven master of his trade on asphalt as the 2011 DTM Champion, took the wheel of the MINI ALL4 Racing, with which X-raid has won the famous Rally Dakar the last four years. During DTM testing in Oschersleben (DE), Al-Attiyah was given the opportunity to drive Tomczyk's BMW M Performance Parts M4 DTM. Two wins at the Rally Dakar are just some of the successes the rally driver from Qatar has had to date. He followed up his first victory in 2011 by winning in the MINI ALL4 Racing in January 2015. "Driving the MINI ALL4 Racing through the sand and over the dunes in Dubai was a fascinating experience and was so much fun," said Tomczyk. "The car has an incredible amount of torwue – and the test in the dunes was an amazing adrenalin rush even for an experienced race driver such as myself. It's totally different to driving on a circuit.
Next-gen Mini interior ditching familiar center speedo
Fri, 29 Mar 2013A Reddit user has posted images of the 2015 F56 Mini Cooper, one each of the exterior and interior. As has been the case since the launch of the new Mini in 2001, the overall exterior shape underneath camouflage screams Mini, but insiders are still calling the coming F56 model "the most aggressively different new Mini yet." Inside, though, the two-door that defined premium hatchbacks has, according to its most devoted buyers, gone mainstream.
The giant ring atop the center console is there, but there's no longer a speedometer inside of it. Instead, in an integration that brings to mind words like "shoehorned," Mini designers have placed radio and telephone controls inside the bezel. According to the Mini experts at MotoringFile, the picture above is the base trim and one of four possible treatments - in the upper trims a larger screen for navigation takes up most of the space. The bezel itself is marked with mood lighting that supposedly "swirls around" when you start the car with the red toggle switch.
The speedo rests atop the steering column with a tachometer placed to its left. The BMW wheel pictured is just for the prototype - you can expect a familiar three-spoke Mini wheel when the car is revealed, and latest rumor is that the event will take place at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show.
