This Second Generation "GP" Limited Edition Mini, with the first generation being the 2006 model. There were only 2000 produced worldwide in 2013, with only 500 brought to the Untied States! Simply put, the GP is the John Cooper Works Package on Steroids and is the fastest Mini ever produced to date. Upgrades from the JCW include; 17 inch brakes, 6 piston calipers, vented rotors, adjustable coil over suspension, and with fifty pounds less overall weight helps the top speed reach 150 mph! The 1.4 litre Turbo charged engine produces 211 hp and 207 lb/ft. of torque and has a recorded zero to sixty time of 5.9 seconds! Mini John Cooper Works Concept heading wide-eyed into production
Mon, 13 Jan 2014We now know that Mini will offer a stupendous number of total models over the next few years, so it's fair to assume that most of the brand's concept cars have series production written all over them. So, a 'concept' like this new John Cooper Works Mini is more or less a mortal lock to hit showrooms in very similar trim.
That's probably a good thing for future JCW owners, as this Mini looks decidedly better than the standard car that debuted in Los Angeles late last year. Something about the bigger grille, lowered front fascia and pumped up wheel arches make the car more visually compelling than the weird-nosed 2014 Mini Hardtop. (At least to this author.)

Mini Paceman Adventure photos arrive by the trucklette-load
Fri, 25 Apr 2014Yesterday, we brought you the news of the existence of this Mini Paceman Adventure tiny truck, and the story of how it came to be. Long story short: it was a lighthearted collaboration between apprentices and instructors at parent BMW plants in Germany. The mini-sized pickup bed and off-road kit may not make the Paceman All4 actually practical, but we'd argue that they do make the one-off fairly loveable.
Apparently the Mini photographers agree with that "loveable" part. We'd heard that there were some better, higher-resolution images of the Paceman Adventure on the way, but we didn't expect there to be hundreds of them. But as you can see, the shooters went out and thoroughly documented the pickup, shooting it in several locations, still and moving, and documenting some of its construction as well.
