Still looking for a great used Mini-Cooper?? Look no more! For sale,
excellent condition, very low mileage 2008 Mini-Cooper S with unique red
leather interior. Vehicle has 37000 miles on it. Clean Car-Fax. (Copy
available upon request.) I originally bought this car in Winchester VA in 2011 as a commuter car,
but due to a career change, moved to Syracuse NY, and it is no longer needed. I am the second owner.Vehicle has been in
garage storage in NY and was not driven in winter. I have a Ford Pickup for winter. It has never seen snow since I purchased it.
The Cooper S is extremely fast, fun, and fuel efficient to drive. If you have never driven one, it is like you are riding on rails. It corners like a Go-Cart and is very fun to drive. Excellent gas mileage.(low-mid 30's MPG depending on how much you hit it) Its red
leather interior is sporty, and very clean. The red interior is a rare find
and adds to the vintage look of this car!! A rare find! If you look at other Minis ,they nearly all have Dark Gray, very few have red.
Similar models are selling from $17,500 - $18,000 without unique interior and with 15K +
more miles. Don't take my word for it, check for yourself. My car has 37,000 miles, less than most cars that are 2-3 yrs old. This car new lists for 33K. It has less than 1000 miles on it since last fall when it was inspected in NYS. It is on the road currently .
This car has the Sport mode and handles like a race car. All the bells and
whistles you'd expect from BMW (who makes Minis). If you are looking for a great quality used Mini, you
won't be disappointed. You can go to a dealer and pay $2000-2500 more for them to detail it for you or buy it from a Retired Army Guy who took great care of it. Your call.
Non smoker, never was smoked in ever. No pets either.
I have set a Buy it now at $15,500 and the reserve is very close to that. I also have this car listed locally and will end the auction when I get my buy it now price. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me . I will also send any additional photos within reason. This is a great car, but it is 5 yrs. old. It has a few minor cosmetic blemishes, as you would expect, but nothing noticeable from a few feet away. This is a great commuter or car for your college student. I am 54 and I got looks and comments everywhere with it.

Why the 2020 Mini John Cooper Works GP doesn't have a manual
Thu, Nov 21 2019LOS ANGELES — The 2020 Mini John Cooper Works GP is an interesting machine. While it shares a lot in common with its predecessors, such as the big rear wing, no rear seat, four-spoke wheels and other aggressive design cues, it has a number of distinct differences. In particular, it has a massive amount of power relative to old models, and it doesn't have a manual transmission. This all left us with some questions that we brought to some Mini representatives. We'll start with the big one: "Where's our manual?" The representatives said a lot about how manual take rates are declining, and the smooth, quick-shifting automatic transmission fits a track-oriented car. But they also eventually admitted that they don't have a manual transmission available that would be strong enough to handle the turbo 2.0-liter engine's 301 horsepower and prodigious 332 pound-feet of torque. On the other hand, the engine, which is also used in the John Cooper Works Countryman, Clubman, and small BMWs, already has an automatic developed. And obviously, the company didn't feel it was worth it to develop a stronger gearbox for a run of just 3,000 cars. At the very least, having experienced Mini automatics in the past, they are good, and to make the experience a little more engaging, Mini has custom 3D-printed aluminum alloy shift paddles for the GP that do feel good. Another thing we were curious about was the disappearance of the Nurburgring lap time from the dashboard. Spy shots showed a time of 7:56.69 on a 3D-printed dash panel. The 3D-printed dashboard remains, but it will now have each model's production number instead. The display car uses 2020 as an example. The Mini representatives said that past customers cared more about which number of car they had, rather than a lap time. This is also in keeping with past GP models that all displayed their production numbers somewhere in the interior. The new GP's most striking features, though, are its carbon fiber fender flares. They serve a couple of purposes, such as accommodating the car's wider track and tires. According to one of the representatives, they also help direct airflow and reduce drag, but she didn't say by how much. Then there's the appearance, which is unusual at the least, looking almost like vertical wings, and it's inspired by the outrageous concept. Although they're made of carbon fiber, it's more of a molded style than the woven variety seen on many cars.
Mini to offer a double-clutch transmission, but not in U.S.
Fri, Dec 22 2017Mini has padded next year's option sheet with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, so long as you're not buying in America. Available for the three-door, five-door, and convertible Mini models using "selected engine types," the DCT will provide a third transmission option after the standard six-speed manual and six-speed Steptronic automatic. Minis fitted the twin-clutch will be known by the meaty new gearshift lever that, BMW style, returns to its central position after the car's put into gear. A button at the top of the lever activates Park. Sensibly, you push the lever forward to downshift, and pull it back to upshift. When a buyer springs for navigation and the DCT, the transmission taps into map routing data and camera images to hone shift programming; the gearbox will downshift early when approaching a turn, or read a series of bends to know when to shift and when to hold steady. Fitted with a crawl function for ease of use in stop-and-go traffic, the DCT additionally supports stop/start, and coasting in Mid and Green driving modes for those times the driver takes his foot off the accelerator. For the time being, though, we're not invited to the party. Mini USA Communications Manager Mariella Kapsaskis told Motor1 that manufacturing the wet-clutch, dual-mass flywheel DCT "takes up lots of capacity." Which is the automaker equivalent of being told, "We're just not that into you right now." We expect that would change at some point; however, some of Mini's most sporting U.S. competitors also don't offer DCTs, so who knows. Mini stretches out with new Hardtop 4 door [w/video] [UPDATE]
Thu, 05 Jun 2014UPDATE: Information on US availability, specification and nomenclature added to the updated text below.
Few automakers have managed to spin off as many variants of essentially one vehicle as Mini has. The second generation produced even more versions than the first, and now that the third generation is upon us, the process is starting all over again. The jury may still be out on whether parent company BMW will roll out as many body-styles of this latest Mini as it did with the last, but here's our first indication.
Following the introduction of the new three-door Mini hatchback at the LA Auto Show, the Anglo-Saxon marque has introduced a new five-door model. Or four-door, depending on which Mini office you're speaking to: while this new model - an addition to the lineup and not a direct replacement for anything previously offered - is called the Mini 5 door by the factory, here in the US it's called the Mini Hardtop 4 door. Whatever you call it, though, this new Mini is essentially the same as the three-door model (or two-door model with a tailgate), only with - you guessed it - two extra doors. The new Clubman will be a separate model altogether.
