2005 Mini Cooper S, John Cooper Works Edition Jcw, Supercharged, 6-speed Manual on 2040-cars
Green Bay, Wisconsin, United States
From Owner
Car is in outstanding operating condition. Absolute blast to drive. Great looking car, often turning heads. Clean and Clear Title in hand ready to be transferred. Gets 30-32mpg highway, and ~25mpg city. The only reason I am choosing to sell the car is because I am stepping into a Porsche and have only one underground parking spot. Owned by a software professional. Reasonable offers are considered. Goodies - John Cooper Works Edition (sport suspension/exhaust/airbox/intercooler/pulley/cam/JCW badges/ECU) This was a $6000+ package installed by the dealer, and it performs flawlessly - BBS John Cooper Works 2-Piece wheels ($3599 option. These are NOT replicas) - Drilled and Slotted Rotors (upgraded when the originals had to be replaced) - Premium Factory Package (retractable headlight washers/dimming mirrors/etc) - Navigation & on board computer (OEM) - Traction Control - Factory Xenons - Rally lights. White covers & black see-through covers included. - Black Leather interior - 6 Disc CD player (factory) in the trunk, 1 Disc CD player (factory) in front. - AUX port for iPhone, Android, etc. - All weather floor mats - Alta lower Control Arms (replaced the OEM pieces for the improved feel) - Continental DWS EXTREME all-season tires (great in the snow) - 3 sets of factory keys - Original Manual(s) - The original MINI water bottle that came with the car - A history of meticulous ownership - I'm sure I have forgotten a number of things on this list Condition All maintenance up to date, including the costly Service 2. Mini dealer records available. I maintain my vehicles as if I were going to keep them forever, and I know that the next owner will appreciate that. Notable parts replaced in past year: Battery, Tires, Plugs, Rotors & Brake pads. Turnkey car, just put gas in and enjoy. Can work with buyer's bank to finance. Will not ship, unless coordinated 100% by the buyer. |

Mini and John Cooper Works floating hub caps are factory fresh accessories
Fri, Sep 13 2019Much of the allure of a Mini is tied to its iconic style and design. Beyond the legendary shape of the Mini Cooper, the company is heavy into unique details that celebrate the brand's heritage. Features such as Union Jack taillamps scream, "Look, I'm British!" while a new accessory inches even closer to the nose and says, "Look, I'm a Mini!" Literally, these new self-leveling hub caps read, "MINI" or "John Cooper Works." Floating, or self-leveling, hub caps are not new, but they're new to the Mini Original Accessory store. For those who are unaware, these items use weights in the front of the center cap and a "flexible connection to the wheel hub extension" to keep the outermost part of the cap in one position. That position keeps whatever script is written on the cap horizontal and visible to all onlookers. Mini says the standard wheel covers are easily removed and can quickly be changed out for these floating caps. The Mini cap takes uses a simple black background with chrome trim and script while the John Cooper Works caps have a black background, red outline, and silver, black, and red logo in the center. Both options are available for order at Mini dealerships, Mini partners, or at Mini's online shop for about $78 (Mini) or $93 (JCW). Auto News Design/Style MINI Parts and Accessories Performance
10 automakers sued over keyless ignitions
Thu, Aug 27 2015Keyless ignition has rapidly proliferated throughout the auto industry to become a fairly normal feature on new cars. It's supposed to offer the convenience of keeping the fob in your pocket and just pressing a button to drive away. However, ten major automakers are now being sued in US District Court over claims that the system is dangerous, Reuters reports. The suit alleges that people are forgetting to shut off the engine, and the lack of an idle timer is the cause for 13 deaths by carbon monoxide poisoning and multiple injuries. The suit currently includes 28 plaintiffs, according to Reuters, but the lawyers are asking for class-action status to potentially add many more. The case goes after a major swath of the industry, including BMW, Daimler, FCA, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota, and Volkswagen, plus their related brands like Acura, Infiniti, Mini, and Lexus. In all, over five million vehicles are affected. The assertion here is that people walk away from their vehicle without shutting it off because they believe the engine shuts off automatically. If parked in a garage, carbon monoxide can build up, leading to poisoning. The lawyers claim automakers know this is a problem and also cite 27 complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration about the issue, according to Reuters. The plaintiffs are asking for an automatic shut-off and damages from the companies. These concerns have come up before, though. Toyota previously faced a lawsuit over a carbon monoxide death after a woman accidentally left her Lexus running. Also earlier this year, GM recalled 64,186 examples of the 2011-2013 Chevrolet Volt because owners weren't shutting them off. The problem resulted in two injuries, and the company released a software update to limit the idling time.
BMW names new chief for Mini
Fri, Jan 23 2015Mini is still transitioning models over to its new platform, and in the US market at least, the diminutive brand is dealing with a sales decrease of 15.6 percent in 2014. The low gas prices aren't helping either. But as of March 1, there's a new boss running the company across the world as Sebastian Mackensen (right) is promoted to the top spot from his current role as head of sales. Mackensen has been with Mini since October 2013, and according to Automotive News, before that he headed North and South American sales for Audi. Current brand boss, Jochen Goller is staying with BMW family and moving to China to take over as marketing chief for the BMW Brilliance joint venture. He had been the leader at Mini since 2013. Among several other personnel shifts, the BMW brand is also promoting Uwe Dreher to be its new head of marketing. He is currently in charge of those duties for the company in the Great Britain region. Personnel changes at MINI and BMW Group sales Munich . From 1 March 2015, Peter van Binsbergen will be Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing of BMW Group Germany. The 47-year-old mechanical engineer is currently Head of Sales and Marketing at the BMW Brilliance Joint Venture based in China. Mr van Binsbergen's career with the BMW Group began over 20 years ago when he assumed senior positions responsible for product planning, marketing and sales at BMW South Africa. He then moved to BMW Japan, where he was Director of Marketing, followed by a move to BMW Group headquarters in Munich, where he led the department responsible for sales channel development and the Group's "Future Retail" programme. Jochen Goller will move to China where he will take over an extended role with overall responsibility for Sales and Marketing at the BMW Brilliance Joint Venture in China. Mr Goller (48), who has headed up the MINI brand since 2013, already has experience when it comes to the Chinese market. During his 15-year career with the BMW Group, he was previously Head of Marketing at BMW China before returning to Europe, where he first took over responsibility for the MINI brand in Great Britain and Ireland ahead of moving to his current job. From 1 March 2015, Sebastian Mackensen will take on responsibility for the MINI brand. Mr Mackensen (43) joined the BMW Group in October 2013 as Head of MINI Sales.
