2004 Mini Cooper S Jcw John Cooper Works Factory Car on 2040-cars
Murrieta, California, United States
My 2004 mono color JCW is up for sale due to my relocation and the need to downsize my cars from 5 to 3. Paint is in great condition. I recently had the fading plastic air intake, rear spoiler and front fascia repainted to match the rest of the car. There is a small ding on the hood smaller than a dime. Not visible from 10'. Interior is in great shape and shows little sign of wear for a car with over 100K miles. Wood grain dash kit was installed to give a retro look. Car has been rebadged "BMW". Badges can easily be removed for the purist. I also have numerous replacement badges to replace worn or fading badges. MoMo shift knob is form fit for comfortable grip .After market" Mini" pedals give a unique upgrade look and are a little larger than O.E. pedals for better heal-toe downshifts. Competition suspension makes car lower and even more nimble , but does add some stiffness to the ride . Added Ca. smog passing header produces a pleasant exhaust note. This car is quick and looks great with the addition of BBS styled wheels. Electric doors, windows and sunroof work flawlessly. Does need new horn as old one is mute. Car will be available January 7th thru 9th for inspection and driving. All questions are welcome , please inquire. As I have said, the only reason I am selling this Cooper is my need to downsize my garage.

Mini pokes fun at Anthony Weiner using fake Twitter account
Sun, 28 Jul 2013Mini, never one to pass on a marketing opportunity, has pounced on the plight of embattled New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner, who seems to have an issue with sending pictures of his genitals to young women. Observers will notice that this is the second time the unfortunately named Mr. Weiner has been in the spotlight for his picture messages.
Capitalizing on Weiner's alias, Carlos Danger, Mini has created an account on Twitter - @CarlosDMotor. With a note on the profile page listing "Danger" as the account's middle name, it's sent out just one tweet, containing the message, "Wanna get your hands on my stick?" Attached to the Tweet is a scantily clad Mini Cooper S, with a towel around its "waist" snapping a picture. Too soon? To borrow the brilliant pun from AdWeek, the "auto erotica" was the idea of Mini's marketing agency Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners. Click below for the full tweet.
Mini Rocketman concept reportedly going into production as an EV
Thu, Jul 11 2019Remember the Mini Rocketman Concept from the 2011 Geneva Motor Show? If you don’t thatÂ’s OK, as itÂ’s been almost an entire decade since Mini pulled the wraps off. Despite the massive time lapse, Mini decided to revive the concept, not just for show. The companyÂ’s finally going to put the Rocketman into production, as an electric vehicle. We've heard this before, a few years ago, but nothing was set in stone. Now it seems a decision has been made. AutoCar in Britain recently learned that the Rocketman will fulfill its premise as the companyÂ’s first subcompact city car. The production model, scheduled for 2022, will reportedly be heavily reworked and built as a joint project with Chinese automaker Great Wall Motors. “WeÂ’re advancing plans for a model along the lines of the Rocketman. ItÂ’s a car we have been looking at for a long time, but to build it profitably at the price point we think customers are prepared to pay, you need a joint venture partner to share costs. Great Wall Motors has provided that opportunity with a shared electric car platform that will be used by Mini,” an anonymous “senior BMW official” was quoted as saying. The production Rocketman will retain its three-door hatchback design and is expected to serve as the manufacturerÂ’s newest entry-level model. It will be built by Great Wall Motors in Jiangsu, China, while BMW oversees the design and production with plans to sell it in all markets globally. When the Rocketman first surfaced at Geneva, it was essentially BMWÂ’s direct response to DaimlerÂ’s Smart ForFour. However, even with positive feedback from prospective customers, the project was shelved because development discussions between BMW and its initial partner, Peugeot, ended abruptly. The companies were reportedly going to share platforms and powertrains in another joint venture. In the new agreement with the Chinese company, the production model will apparently use a small-car platform used by Great Wall Motors called the Ora R1. The Peugeot-BMW project was going to use either a three-cylinder gas or diesel engine. But the new model will gain an all-electric powertrain by Spotlight Automotive as a part of BMWÂ’s massive plan to launch up to 25 new plug-in hybrid and all-electric vehicles by the end of 2023. One of those models is the newly released all-electric Cooper SE.
Mini blows up over women applying makeup in cars
Wed, 05 Jun 2013Distracted driving is a very real problem. From drivers with phones dangling from their ears to those constantly adjusting the stereo or dealing with rowdy children in the back seat, anything that diverts attention away from the act of driving is a potential danger. And yes, that would indeed include applying makeup while driving.
Publicis, the advertising agency used by Mini in Mexico, came up with an inventive (or offensive, depending on your point of view) way of reminding female drivers "that there's a time and place for everything." And while we're not quite sure of the veracity of the statistics cited in the video below, or even the necessity of its production in general, perhaps we'll just take it as a reminder to pay attention while driving... no matter what else happens to be on our minds. Or faces, as it were.
Scroll down below for the explosive demonstration.
