The leather by the side of seat has a tear. Also, the bottom leather cushion has some surface cracks."

Condition: This fun-to-drive car is in near perfect condition and looks and drives like new. I'm the original owner and had the vehicle maintained to factory recommendations. It has been garaged most of its life with very little winter driving. The car had a complete tune-up at 75,000 including new plugs, wires, tires, belts and cold air intake filter. The only visible signs of wear is on the driver's seat. The leather by the side of seat has a tear. Also, the bottom leather cushion has minor surface wear.

Features: This car is stock with a few improvements when OEM parts needed replaced. For example, the original run-flat tires were replaced with Bridgestone Potenza Grids high-performance all seasons. These tires have approximately 15,000 miles on them and are only about one-quarter worn. The Bridgestones ride and grip much better on wet surfaces than the original run flats. The original exhaust was replaced with a stainless steel unit by Borla. It makes a nice sporty exhaust note but is not loud. The original cold air intake was replaced with a much better breathing K&N unit. All work on this car was performed by MINI certified mechanics. Contact information to the shop is available with complete maintenance records.

History: It was driven mostly to work on highways.

Please contact me for any questions about this exceptional car that is fun to drive, fairly economical considering it is supercharged and has lots of pick up. It is the perfect car for students, moms, dads or anyone just looking for something that is sporty to drive but still very practical and reliable.

Mini teases third-gen hatch to debut next week

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

All it takes is a small spark to set off a fire. Just look at what has happened since BMW brought back the Mini in the early 2000s. What started with a hatchback has since spawned more bodystyles than we care to count and almost as many imitators. The second generation followed in 2007, and now Mini is preparing to launch the third.
The new Mini is scheduled to debut a week from now on November 18 at the Oxford plant in England, just days before the LA Auto Show and Tokyo Motor Show kick off and on the birthday of the original's designer Sir Alec Issigonis.
The third generation of the popular retro hatchback is expected to closely follow the lead set by the Mini Vision concept revealed a few months ago, but then we already knew that, having seen numerous undisguised photos of the new car in action. Still, the half-minute teaser video embedded below does a decent job of drumming up some enthusiasm, so if you're enamored of the Anglo-Saxon retromobile, head on down to check it out.

BMW, Mini aim to sell million cars off new FWD platform

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

Mini sold 301,526 cars in 2012; BMW sold 1.54 million of its own models. According to a piece in Autocar, analysts say the coming UKL1 platform that will form the skeleton of the third-generation Mini Cooper and coming front-wheel drive BMW 1 Series could be responsible for "more than 900,000 cars per year" all by itself.
That sale fire is fueled by the UKL1 wearing up to twenty-three bodies in total between the two brands, 11 for Mini and 12 for BMW, rendering hatchbacks, sedans, coupes, convertibles, wagons, crossovers and people-haulers from about 12.5 feet to 14.5 feet. In April the VP of Mini USA said we might find some current models don't make it to a next generation, but a graphic accompanying the Autocar story has them all there. If it's correct, then those 23 models will only base model lines and don't account for different engines and four-wheel-drive options for each model.
The big changes that would perhaps mean big sales for the Mini line are a five-door hatch with two smaller rear doors for children, the sedan talked about last year for Asian markets and an MPV perhaps wearing the "Traveler" name that could send the Countryman in a more SUV-like direction.

Help Mini decide on its next limited-edition Cooper

Mon, 17 Feb 2014

Mini likes to make a big hullabaloo about the number of ways its cars can be configured, which currently stands at 10 million. While that figure is impressive, the BMW-owned brand is always looking for new and unique design variations, a trend that has seen a number of special-edition Minis pop up over the years boasting unique color and trim items.
For the new, third-generation F56 Mini, the British brand is at it again. Only this time, the cars are designed and chosen by Mini's fans in a new contest. Called "The New Originals," Mini teamed its 10 Final Test Test Drive winners with an illustrator to design their perfect Mini, one of which will become the next special-edition model.
The ten cars are currently being voted on by the brand's fans on the Mini USA website, with the winner set to be announced at the 2014 New York Auto Show in April. A total of 56 examples of the winning entry will then be put on sale, making this one of the most limited of Mini's many limited editions. Voting closes on February 19, so hop over to the page and vote for your favorite.
