2006 Mini Cooper S Sunroof Coupe 6 Speed on 2040-cars
Atlanta, Georgia, United States
2006 Mini Cooper S, 106k miles, British racing green metallic with a silver top and mirrors, two tone gray/black leatherette interior, 6 speed, sunroof, premium package, Harmon Kardon stereo, cold weather package with heated seats, tinted windows, etc. It is completely stock. This is a local Atlanta car that was ordered from Global Imports Mini/BMW. It has a clean vehicle history through both Carfax and Autocheck. It has never been wrecked or painted. It has just received the 100k service from a local European car specialist. This service includes new sparkplugs, fluid change, filter change and a general once over. The car is in excellent mechanical condition. The car has Continental runflat tires that are a little over a year old. If you look at any other Mini's, you should make sure they have runflats as they don't have a spare tire. A large percentage of owners and dealers will put non-runflats on to save money. If you have read this ad to this point you should already know that this car has the supercharged engine. This was the last year of this engine prior to the follow up car with a turbo. This car is fast with 168hp.
The flaws on this car are few but should be noted so that you get a full understanding of it's condition before driving over to take a look in person. It has 2-3 spots where the windshield has been damaged by stones. It also has stone chips in the hood that could be touched up and the normal dents, dings and scratches of a car with just over 100k miles. I did remove the factory stripe kit as it was faded. The interior is like new. It has never been smoked in. I have both keys and the original books, window sticker, factory touch up paint and tool kit. Title is in hand and the purchase will be in cash or I will meet you at your bank or credit union to take the funds in check. I have priced the car fairly at $8195. I have seen base models sell for this price so you are getting a deal. I have done my research as to the value of this car, so if you want to come over and whine and negotiate please save us both a lot of time and go to a dealer that gets paid for this type of nonsense. I live in Sandy Springs near Riverside Drive and I-285 and the car can be viewed at my home. If you have any questions not addressed above, just shoot me an email. |

Mini John Cooper Works GP will have over 300 horsepower
Wed, Feb 13 2019The Mini John Cooper Works GP concept from the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show was one extreme-looking vehicle, and we now know it's because the real one will, in fact, be really extreme. The company announced that the production car will be the most powerful Mini with over 300 horsepower. In fact, it will be the most powerful Mini by a large margin, as the most potent models so far have only made 228 horsepower. And of course, it will be within striking distance of equally widened and winged cars such as the Civic Type R and Focus RS. Exact numbers haven't been revealed yet, but we wouldn't be surprised if it uses the same turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder from the BMW X2 M35i, which makes 306 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. In fact, the engine would be ideal, since the X2 is front-drive based and shares underpinnings and less-powerful engines with existing Mini products. The X2 M35i is also all-wheel-drive, which naturally brings up the idea of the GP also powering all four wheels, but Mini might choose to stay with front drive to reduce complexity and weight. Sticking with front drive would also mean that Mini could challenge the Civic Type R's record Nurburgring lap. It looks like the spirit of the concept's design will make it to production, too. The teaser images Mini released show a pretty wild looking split wing that's just a bit narrower and missing some of the concept's extraneous fins. We can also just make out fat fender flares, a big rear diffuser, and the GP's trademark four-spoke wheels. The Mini John Cooper Works GP will go into production in 2020, and Mini will only be building 3,000 examples. That's a low number, but it is more than the 2,000 units of the two previous GP generations. And considering the high output and low production, the GP will undoubtedly be a pricey hot hatch. Next Mini Convertible spotted on flatbed truck
Tue, 05 Nov 2013Mini is well underway testing the third-generation of its four-place Cooper Convertible, as evidenced by these photos, showing the new droptop riding along on a flatbed.
Codenamed the F57 - as opposed to the "F56" designation for the Hardtop - the Convertible will ride on the same UKL front-drive architecture that will underpin its hardtop brother, not to mention its German cousins, the BMW 1 Series GT and X1. According to our spies, it'll share more than a few of the BMW i's lightweight technologies and will include such advanced features as electronically adjustable dampers. That seems like some high-dollar tech for a droptop Mini, but we'd be quite happy to see it arrive all the same.
From the beltline down, we can expect the Convertible to feature almost identical styling to the Hardtop. Based on the spy photos, there's not a lot to see above the belt line, either. The roof carries roughly the same shape, and will probably fold in a similar Z-pattern to the current canvas top.
2022 Mini JCW Hardtop and Convertible add new dampers, styling and tech
Fri, Apr 23 2021Mini released broad details on updates to its entire Hardtop and Convertible lineups back in January, and while photos of the John Cooper Works version were available, what Mini did to the car for 2022 was less clear. Today, Mini is clearing that up with a dedicated 2022 JCW information drop. There’s only one major mechanical change to speak of, and thatÂ’s a new set of optional adaptive dampers for both the Hardtop and Convertible. They feature new “frequency-selective damper technology that operates with an additional valve acting on the traction side.” Mini says this should make for better compensation on uneven roads. Additionally, the maximum damping force is 10% higher than before, so Mini promises even more control and stability in corners. WeÂ’ll also note that the standard suspension is fixed — these new dampers are part of the Adaptive Suspension package. Beyond the new suspension, this JCW is very similar to the last. ThereÂ’s still a BMW-sourced 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder under the hood that makes 228 horsepower and 235 pound-feet of torque. The Hardtop continues to be available with a six-speed manual transmission (eight-speed auto optional), the Convertible carries on with the automatic as its only transmission option. Mini claims the Hardtop will reach 60 mph in 5.9 seconds, while the Convertible does it in 6.3 seconds. On the appearance front, Mini updated the looks of the JCW with a new face and redesigned diffuser. ThereÂ’s a new 18-inch JCW-exclusive two-tone wheel option, and the interior enjoys all the tech and feature updates gained from the non-JCW 2022 refresh. The updated JCW lineup is available now, and starts at $33,750 for the Hardtop and $39,750 for the Convertible. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party.
