For sale: 1955 MG TF 1500, build date 01/04/1955,original engine No. XPEG/2382, chassis No.TF8664, ID: HDE 43/8664 witch means original color was green, left hand drive, and one of 109 sent to North America. Along the way color was changed to a beautiful Ivory, with newer black seats. It also has a newer top, with only fair side curtains. There are four excellent tires, and a useable spare. Most of the major components look like they have been rebuilt. These include: the engine, transmission, and the brakes. The car is in good running condition. It has a couple of problems, the speedometer does not work (last odometer reading was 25,562, the true mileage is unknown), and the windshield wipers work off the AUX switch. The chrome on the bumpers and the hand brake should be redone, and the paint will need a touch up in a few places. The body is solid with only a little surface rust to parts of the under carriage. This car spent most of it's life in Washington State. The car dealerdid not have any history, but someone spent a lot of time and money updating this car.

I was in the Airforce during the Korean war serving in Newfoundland. My buddy bought a new MG TD for $1200.00, and because I loved that car, I put it on my bucket list. Back then I was 140 lbs, and it was great getting behine the wheel. Now I'm over 200 lbs and it's not so easy. I have also gotten used to power steering, power brakes, automatic transmissions and long service intervels. This car has none of these options, and is in constant need of attention. I am 82 years of age, have a two car garage without the neccessary tools to maintain the car the way it should be maintained. For the fore going reasions, is why I am selling.
