Up for auction is my 1954 MGTF 1500 in original, unrestored condition (Engine XPEG 3091). As TF' 1500's are the rarest of the T series roadsters, this car is rather exceptional because it is one of the 10% or fewer 1500's made as right hand drive. The car was converted when it arrived in Connecticut some years ago. However, I do have a Jack Knight competition RHD steering rack and pedals/linkage ( that I will sell to buyer at my cost) to return it to its original configuration. Otherwise, I'll simply sell it at auction. There are pedal boxes on both sides of the car.
As stated, this is an all original, matching numbers car, as HDA 16 identifies this as a RHD, black cellulose, biscuit interior roadster. As such, it is in very good, straight, original condition. The wood is good, there are no dents in the sheet metal, no rust underneath, the chrome is good to very good, and the canvas and side curtains have no tears or seam issues. Cylinders have good pressure (135 lbs. +) all across. There are 5 new Vredestein tires (photos) 165/15 that come on the car. As can be seen, there is no rust on the vehicle. There is some road dirt underneath and a little paint funk under the master cylinder. The horns ought to be replaced. Other than that, there is a slight drip at the master cylinder (not to worry, as I have a new one that I'll throw in with the car), and the wiring is a little ugly under the dash---but it all works fine. All gauges OK except the clock (so, what's new?). Paint is generally good, with a chip here and there. Not bad for 60 years. And the seats are the original leather with no issues, other than 60 years worth of various people's butts on them. The photos tell the story. This is an extremely rare TF in good original condition, down to the brass fire extinguisher, Lucas "Anchor" headlight lenses, Smith's heater, and Champion spark plug connectors.

I have been informed by Barrie Jones from the MG Car Club T register that this car was made on Feb. 2, 1955. Thank you for the correction.
