Stock, original, almost complete, rust-free (except for very minor passenger floorboard only - see pics), Southern California blue plate 1979 MGB project car with great potential. This car slowly migrated from SoCal to Las Vegas to St. George, Utah (100 miles north of Vegas; 20 years ago) so it has spent its entire life in a dry, desert climate. It's the second of seven I'm selling on behalf of a local widow whose husband collected them. He was a retired Two Star General and former Air Force test pilot who recently passed away from cancer.

The running gear is good. Engine turns over freely, transmission goes through all gears and clutch works. I hooked up a battery, turned on the key and the electric fuel pump, clock, idiot lights, headlights and starter solenoid all worked. Other stuff probably works too. Radiator, intake/exhaust manifold and carb is missing. I have every reason to believe that if you replaced these items the car would run. Brake master cylinder has a leak out of the bottom drain plug. No sign of leakage from calipers or wheel cylinders. And it rolls and steers very easily.

Interior can be brought up to snuff with used or easily available aftermarket parts. As it sat outside in our desert climate, the interior became very dry and brittle. I removed most of it so you could see the solid bones underneath. Basically it will need panels, seats, carpet and a dash cover. I saved a panel so you could match the tan color (see pics). Carpet was black. And I have vertical seat frames and slider assemblies (see pics). If you choose to go minimalist, all you will need is seats. Passenger floorboard has minor rust where damp carpet retained moisture (see pics). There is zero other rust.

Body has never been structurally damaged but shows signs of two fender-benders to individual external body panels only. One is to the right front behind the tire and the other is to the left rear behind the tire (see pics). That's all I can find and I've looked everywhere. Repair these two areas and then body is excellent. All the trim is still there as well. Tail light plastic needs to be replaced. Inner body structure is very solid everywhere. Underneath, rockers, beams, and strengthening channels are all rock solid (see pics). Doors line up and open and close properly. Glass and top frame are good.
