So I got this car not realizing it would be the straw that 'breaks the camels back' so to speak. My wife has had it with all these cars in the driveway so I'm putting it on here at a great price because she wants it gone NOW. Too bad since I really like this one.
This 1972 MGB is a great project car. It is currently running, driving and stopping. It starts right up and goes smoothly into gear with a few pumps of the clutch, has a new clutch master cyl, no leaks and is in great working order, but needs to be bled a little better.
I got this MGB, sorted out the carbs and fuel issues with a friend of mine that is an expert that has done thousands of these. He says the carbs on this alone are $1000. It has some mechanical upgrades including electronic ignition on it. We also sorted out some minor electrical issues and now all the lights work. Last thing it needs in the electrical departmentis an alternator, which I have purchased and will install before the buyer picks up the car.
Body is in very good shape for a 1972, has had some past body work and has been repainted british racing green. It looks great going down the road but does have some blemishes, great driver, but would need work to be a show car. Car was originally white. Top is in great shape, probably replaced at some point - the windows are all clear.
The top frame has a break near the drivers-side latch but doesn't affect the operation of the top at all and could easily be repaired. The top doesn't rattle or cause any issues going down the road. interior is fair for a 1972, it is all original and is showing its age, seats are ripped under the covers, door panels are a little wavy and dash pad has a crack. interior doesn't look trashed as you can see in the pics but, want to make it clear it is not perfect as its hard to tell in pictures. I have the previous transferable registration which is how pre 1973 vehicles are titled in Massachusetts. If you need a title certificate I can get one, but it will take a week and you will have to pay the excise tax. I can find out how much if needed.
Here's a walk around video of car running on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UI04s2QPw2s
