In March 1979 British Leyland started the production of black painted limited edition MGB roadsters for the US market, meant for a total of 500 examples. Due to a high demand of limited editions models, production ended with 6682 examples.

This 1980 limited edition LE MGB was produced early in August, 1979, part of the initial hand built 500 . It is a very original ,unmolested car, being in excellent condition, with everything in perfect working order. The original engine was rebuilt in 2003, along with transmission and clutch assemblies. At that time the car had just 50,000 miles on it New tires and a top have been more recently done and have less than 6,000 miles on them. The interior is also in excellent condition. Always maintained by established British mechanics. Current mileage. 83,300. Original drivers book , and keys.

Only blemish worth mentioning I could find is a small dent on the top of the passenger fender where it looks like something fell off a shelve overlooking the car. There are also a few stone chips here and there, but nothing really worth attempting to point out. The car is street driven sparingly by the same owner as the 58 MGA Twin Cam I sold for him last fall. Only reason for sale is that he has too many cars and he states it is time to let some of them go.

No real hype to sell the car, it is turn key, needs nothing to get in and enjoy for years to come.
